Unprofessional – Deposit Refund Promise Broken

I would strongly caution anyone considering Brayleys Renault Milton Keynes.

On 29 August 2025, I paid a £250 deposit for a test drive. On 1 September 2025, I clearly informed the sales representative that I would not proceed and requested my refund. Their own service promise states that deposits will be refunded within 14 days.

It is now well past the 14-day deadline. Despite sending three follow-up emails, I have received no reply whatsoever. This is not just poor service – it is a serious breach of trust.

If a dealership cannot honour such a simple, written commitment, how can customers trust them with bigger financial decisions? Very disappointing and unacceptable. Hope they can refund the deposit as soon as their promise.

I have been waiting since April to get my Renault Scenic repaired. They cannot source the parts. It has been parked at Brayleys since 26th June after an earlier failure to diagnose the problem (which my local general mechanic clearly identified). I get no callbacks to my enquiries and even Renault UK have proved useless. Completely disillusioned with both Brayleys and Renault.

Kept me informed while my vehicle was being repaired. Friendly and helpful staff on the service drop off desk.

Great customer service and experience. I’ve booked my car in for its annual service as a customer waiting appointment and very pleased with the process overall. The team made me feel welcome and kept me informed throughout the entire service process from drop off to collection.

I bought a car this year from Brayleys MK, and after encountering numerous issues with their finance processes, the car was finally delivered in February. Initially, it was supposed to arrive on 27th December 2024.

Right after collecting the car, I noticed several problems, including the car pulling to the left, carpet being pulled off a pillar, issues with carpet in the boot, the wipers not functioning properly, and a malfunctioning wiper pump, among other concerns. They attempted to fix these issues three times, but instead, things got worse.

It has been incredibly difficult to get the car booked for repairs. Although they were able to fix it the last time, the car is still pulling to the left, and the initial issue remains unresolved. We suspect that the car may have been involved in some sort of incident before it was delivered, as the delivery period was extended from the 27th of December to the 8th of February, which is a significant delay.

Since April, no one has replied to my contact attempts after I mentioned that I still have the right to return it for a full refund, as I noted the problems within 30 days of collection.

If there was no fault, why do you refuse to recheck or to have an external diagnosis? Why nobody replied to my emails when I mentioned I want to return the car?

After a mishap with our new car (no one’s fault) it was difficult to get a booking at any Renault garage. However, the team at Brayley Renault in Milton Keynes really came through. They fixed the issue quickly and took the time to explain everything we need/ next steps clearly. I’ve never felt so valued by a car dealership before—absolutely brilliant service from start to finish. Thank you!

Very disappointed. Vehicle spent about 4 months with Brayleys MK. Distinct lack of communication and updates while the vehicle awaited workshop space and technicians.
Fortunately Renault Customer Services arranged a courtesy vehicle but no equal for our liveried and equipped vehicle.
This was 23 plate vehicle so should never have developed ongoing problems.
Seriously considering moving our business to an alternative dealer.

The service receptionist was quite rude and did not explain the multi point checks correctly, causing distress on my part. They also tried to sell me aircon cleaning and fuel cleaning on a car with only 1500 miles on it, not really happy with that as it just seems to be money making rather than the particular service being required.

Cant fault the service here. Our previous car was written off so we needed a new vehicle asap. Joe in the sales team pulled out all the stops to have our new car delivered and ready to drive away just 16 days after we first walked into the showroom.

The staff at Brayleys are focused before the customer even enters the door. They are experiencing difficulties with sufficient car parking spaces for incoming clients, but having staff outside as customers arrive does mitigate this somewhat. The reception team were lovely to deal with, explaining the process and expected timelines. I received a call within the given timeframe giving us options on how we could proceed. The car was cleaned immaculately by their lovely valet.

Still waiting for a deposit refund. It was supposed to be paid back within five to seven working days from June 4. Thanks to their conveniently forgetting all about it, I have now incurred bank charges. They are quick enough to take your money, not so keen on handing it back though.

Staff are always very friendly and helpful. Great car service and car washed too. Plus, I got to try a full electric with the loan car . All good.
