TEN REASONS NOT TO SUBSCRIBE 1) Difficulties logging in, 2) App slow to load on TV, 3) constant buffering, 4) If you resume an episode half way through, the sound and image are out of sink, 4) Disappointingly limited selection of programmes,5) Randomly and wrongly claims you have no subscription, 6) Mobile/website inadequate when trying to resolve issue 5, 7) Customer service over the telephone is dreadful, having been unable to reolve issue 5&6, told to phone back 8) After about a month, the app refused to load at all 'try again later' (I gave up), 9) You're paying for stuff you've already paid for through the license fee, 10) exclusive to Britbox shows air on ITV a few months later. THE ONE GOOD experience of Britbox was cancelling my subscription.
Absolutely rubbish
Absolutely rubbish. Everything I try to login it doesn't recognise. Y password then the link to renew the password doesn't work. All they want is to con you out of another subscription!

I don’t usually leave a bad review unless I really have to. I would have preferred to have left feedback when I cancelled my free trial..
But this seems to be the only place I can leave feedback.
I loved the content BUT the buffering and slurring/slowing down of the scenes made it unwatchable for me. Maybe it’s because it’s prime time (Sunday evening) but every part of the app, even going back from a program to the menu etc. it gets stuck and takes time.
Even with the time etc. it’s too much to be able to watch anything. I’m currently watching itv hub with no issues and Netflix and others apps there’s no issue. So it is standalone with Brit box.
If the speed gets quicker in the future I would be interested in returning.
However, right now I am on a free trial and still not watching it unfortunately.
Also, happy to delete my review if I ever hear Brit box knows of the issue or have sped things up :)

Disappointingly let down
It's fine if you wish to only ever watch things once, as once you have watched to the end the next time you want to watch it they charge to re-watch.
It seams to be the same with Amison Prime, What's the deal? is a monthly subscription not enough that they need to drain every penny out of their customers? . Will be concentrating on Netflix in the future as you can re-watch programs as much as you want as long as it's up on their sight.
Content is really good
Content is really good. Particularly a lot of TV series may have missed over the years - caught up with Shetland for example, and a few films etc - However the app is really glitchy still. It has improved... But, quite often still - films will freeze and inexplicably the sound will begin from the start again. Have to start all over again. It’s troublesome.
But, the amount of stuff here is really good, and overall good value for money. Maybe a few more films would be welcome - Get Carter I’d like to see - it’s missing from the Brit film selection which is a real shame. I hope they keep adding more. But there is a lot to be getting on with

Given all the hype about Britbox & the supposedly grand films & dramas. Oh My Dog - The buffering out of this planet (note the sarcasm) Personally I wouldn't bother. You'd be best served using Netflix, Amazon, Disney+ or even the ITV Hub no adverts if you pay a tiny amount each month or annually.

Absolutely appalling service
Absolutely appalling service. In October 2021 Britbox stopped working on my Hisense TV. Many many emails and 11 months later I still have no Britbox on my TV. Their latest suggestion is that I contact Hisense myself but my contract is with Britbox but they've taken no responsibility to even attempt to sort the problem out. I just get useless emails assuring me that their engineers are still working on the problem. If you're thinking of subscribing to Britbox, seriously don't bother. Don't just take my word for it - read all the other bad reviews. I'll be cancelling my membership as I've had enough. It's a shame Britbox had the potential to be great but they're not. I've only given 1 star but if I could have given 0 stars I would have done.
Good shows but the worst customer service on earth and extremely poorly executed app means no point in subscription
This is truly a Jekyll and Hyde company.
The programs are the Hyde part, good selection of both the classic English shows and newly created that gives it a something for everyone appeal.
Unfortunately the Jekyll part completely overwhelms the above programs.
1. Extremely useless customer service that actually goes out of their way to antagonize their own customers. They have a ticket system - it asks you for a phone number and convient time to call. That's a complete lie - they won't phone you even if someone put a gun to their head. Then they suggest a hundred different things that have ZERO revalance to your problems and promptly close the ticket WITHOUT asking you if the problem is solved. Completely garbage department.
2. Their own app that you use to watch is often updated with NO QC check to see if it ACTUALLY WORKS across multiple devices leaving many users WITHOUT a way to ACTUALLY WATCH WHAT THEY HAVE PAID FOR!!!!!!!
3. If there ever was a company that TRULY DESERVES TO GO BANKRUPT it's Britbox. Period. End of story.
Terrible
Terrible. Signed up via amazon prime. I wanted to watch big train a comedy on from the bbc over a decade old. Half way into a season it wanted to charge me per episode. Its a joke.

Hopeless on Android. Impossible to select next series, your only hope is to let one series run on into the next. And so much of the content is on Freeview anyway
Incompetent, lazy, or just plain mean?
I wish I had read these reviews before attempting to communicate with their customer service team regarding duplicate subscription payments. Due to 'technical' issues on my (direct debit) account, they subsequently took 3 payments the following month, including 2 from credit card which was only there temporarily while the regular account was resolved. All for a service which doesn't warrant 1 payment :( So, a long, stressful story - which wasted too many hours of my life; issue only finally resolved by closing the account and blocking Britbox, via my bank.

BRITBOX app changed so it no longer works with Samsung TV's over 5 years old! (May also affect other brands but I cannot test that) So they want us to upgrade expensive items that are still fully functional. Not on, this is so wrong, DO NOT Subscribe to BRITBOX.

Picture is only 6inches wide across the centre of screen. Called customer service on Saturday who said the tech team would contact me by phone or email within 24 hours. Had no response or update. Called again on Tuesday morning. No apology just told the tech team are looking into it and will be in touch in due course. No urgency. Pathetic customer service!

Buyer beware!
As with the person who posted a few days ago the picture on the TV screen has developed letter box proportions (Previously no problems) The britbox "support team" proved to be worse than useless. Either they were completely inept,or it was Friday afternoon and they were trying to take the p1ss to have a laugh, or a combination of both. The contents on offer at Britbox are good, but if anything goes wrong then just don't expect any constuctive help,rather the opposite. I have cancelled my subscription and wish I had read the reviews here before I took it up. They don't deserve even a 1 rating.

Britbox content excellent but admin AWFUL! Episodes in series stick and this evening when we tried to watch was told we had not paid etc when we clearly have! It has taken 30mins to sort. At the v least they should know who has paid and who has not…..britbox needs a human helpline - not a contact page.
