Yes, it’s a scam folks. After your first year there is no way to cancel your membership and they are not contactable. They will attempt to take your money again. Only way out is to contact your bank.

This site is a con and it is impossible to contact them and cancel your subscription.

I wish i had read the reviews before wasting £30.00. they no longer do the book so you have to use the site or the app both of which are absolutely useless. There are free fb siteswhich are much better. You used to get a book which was much better. Its easier to look up local pubs and ring and ask if you can use their carpark overnight
if you use the pub.

In addition if you want to cancel your auto subscription you have to cancel your membership which means you lose this years acces to the useless app even though you have paid for it!

Postscript-I requested a refund and received it the next day.

What a disappointment this dreadful website is… there are no redeeming features… Evereytime I log on I have to reset my password.. The show the length of motorhome in feet ! Don’t the American owners realise we use metres the the UK.. I WILL NOT BE RENEWING MY MEMBERSHIP

A great example of how to kill your company Brit Stops commits Hari Kai Sayonara sucker...

Used to a fabulous system run by genuine travelling people, not out to exploit, but just to help fellow wanderers explore the country. Now the company they have sold to have hiked the price, don’t offer places with any facilities other than food, couldn’t give a monkeys about the original ethos of Britstops and have stolen 4 months of subscription! No book, which is useless when you are up in the moors south west or up north with no signal. Total rip off as all places are free to search for anyway on other sites. Nope thanx. Shove your American exploitation up your ………..

We signed up and paid a fee for nothing. We have not used it once and luckily we cancelled otherwise it would have taken £44 auto renewal. You can find most stop overs for free on the internet.

imposible to contact and imposible to cancel auto renewal i had to get my bank to block thier payment attempts.

I’m afraid the only thing I can say is ……
A Hopeless waste of money! We paid 40 pounds for one site on the app on 28th July for an unsatisfactory stop …. and others on our 2 week route were no longer operating. I hope other people have better luck than we did.

In the first year, you’ll realise you’ve pretty much paid for a service which is now similarly covered by social media pages for free.

The second year, you’ll realise that an inflated automatic renewal has left your account because you didn’t read the small print, you can only stop the auto renewal by cancelling your account and cancelling your account means that you lose the benefits for the year you’ve just unwittingly paid for.
You’ll then find that you can’t claim your renewal fee back because you should have read the small print…which of course makes the whole thing your fault.

Avoid this business like the plague.

Their site is so inaccurate. Nearly all the venues it suggests are not where the search results show.
Try looking local to you and see what I mean. Some venues are shown off the coast. One in the Solent.

In 2023 signed up, not very good app or book. In November 2024 noticed they took money out of my account.
Without permission, refuse to give it back. Won't talk over the phone, owner is a keyboard warrior.

Wouldn't bother either as they don't reply to queries now, sent them one approx 4 weeks ago and not had a reply so for me i won't be renewing, places like searchforsites seem to have up to date places where you can stay. We always go in for a meal when using them just to support them.
