Buy without confidence at own risk

Returned the faulty camera over a month ago, with water ingress. Due to the camera being in a warm office, it had dried out before they tested, saying no fault. Sent footage of the camera in place, with it fogged out. No response!!! Only when I chase do I get a response. now been told they have to send it back to Ubiquity, and I have to wait even longer against the Sales of goods act 2015 as goods returned within first 30 days.

Misleading pricing

Same experience as other reviewers, Essanet / broadbandbuyer.com does misleading pricing on their backorders and later raises the prices 200/300%.

Reported to Trading Standards, I know that they will cancel, refund and never fulfil the order, but these deceptive practices have to be stopped.

Would not fulfil a backorder

Would not fulfil a backorder. They received overdue stock of an item that had been out of stock and I had a backorder in place. They asked for extra money to fulfil the backorder immediately or wait an extra month and a half for stock at the original price I paid. I cancelled my order.

Don't honor the order for the order price

I ordered a WD40EFPX hard drive that was clearly advertised as "In Stock" for £117.58. After hearing nothing regarding dispatch for two days, I contacted them to chase my delivery.

Only then did customer service reply, claiming the drive was suddenly "End of Life" (EOL) and offering to switch me to an inferior, lower-spec replacement model with a 5-week lead time.

I immediately checked their website. It still showed exactly 57 units of my original drive in stock and available to buy, but they had more than doubled the price to £258.30!

When I confronted them with screenshots of this contradiction, their story completely changed. First, they backpedaled and blamed a "website stock feed error." Finally, they admitted the real truth: it was actually just a "pricing issue" and their distributor costs had gone up. Because they didn't want to sell it at the original price, they simply cancelled my order.

Buyers beware: They will happily take your payment for "in stock" items at good prices. But if their costs rise, they won't honor the order. Instead, they will leave you in the dark, and when you chase them, they will give you false information (like claiming an item is EOL) to try and trick you into accepting a downgraded product. I have reported these misleading practices to Trading Standards.

Took £1,000 refused to deliver unless waiving consumer rights

Broadbandbuyer (Essanet Trading Ltd) refused to dispatch my order after taking full Visa payment of more than £1000, unless I signed a waiver giving up my consumer rights under distance selling law.

Payment was processed without issue, yet the goods were withheld until I agreed to remove my statutory protections. Asking a customer to surrender legal rights after taking their money is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about their business practices.
I have reported to Milton Keynes Trading standards.
I would not recommend purchasing from this company under any circumstances.

Directors' Contempt

Long story, shortened.
I bought some expensive kit from them. It arrived in good time etc and the price was decent.
I draw your attention to their website which says:

"If you cancel this contract we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us)."

And there's the rub. It's bs.
Over a few weeks I spoke and wrote to customer services (nice folk actually) who advised me what to return, how and a sum I could expect to receive for the returned kit, having met all the criteria.
The Customer Service Manager's figure for the refund was disputed by one (or both) of the director brothers. No credible rationale is needed with that degree of arrogance and contempt apparently.

So I lost out on c.£100 of refund.
Customer Service was thrown under a bus. It's not a good look.

My advice: Avoid. Absolutely can *not* be trusted.

Fast Shipping, good price

Having some issues with email but otherwise excellent service. I needed a couple of disks for my NAS. I had previoulsy ordered from Amazon who sent out ones that were second hand with thousands of hours of use out of guarantee and not for the UK market. Broadband buyer got the disks to me in 48 hours, manufactured last month with negligible usage prob just tested.

Poor delivery and shipping

Good stock and various products , however thier delivery and updates are poor , certainly don't trust thier online order status , they mark item despatched (happened twice) when in fact its still at their warehouse, I also asked for DPD next day as I trust DPD and thier tracking is excellent, however they sent my item using parcel force (shower of s@!t) I was not happy and the customer support agent said its thier preffered courier! Excuse me but having paid for DPD next day I expect to use the requested courier,

Good service, but returns are really painful.

Price was great, delivery was really quick, and the customer service is very attentive when you need to speak to someone.

Why the three stars? You have to phone them to get any service. I've never had so many problems returning items. They test everything, the process is very elongated and the emails the test engineers apparently send out don't arrive. Their default position seems to be that you're wrong and they can't find a fault. It's taken weeks to get to a resolution.

Ordered Hardware on Next Day, didn't ship because a Cloud Form wasn't filled out?

Ordered a pair of UniFi Switch's, paid extra for DPD Next Day shipping. Plenty of time, it wasn't late in the day at all. You guys didn't ship the items.

Called you up, you explained you sent us a Google Sheet to fill out, to sign up for Cloud Services. First off why on earth did you not ship the items because of that? We aren't interested in signing up for anything extra? You could have even given us a phone call!?

I asked if you could ship the order on a Pre-10am the next, as it was for an appointment for a client to have the hardware installed. To which you said yeh, at extra cost of £19. Ontop of the original delivery charge.

So now for a mixture of £19 and lack of foresight/communication. You've LOST a client who was spending thousands a year with you.

Shocking way to do business.

Shocking 38.9% Price Increase – Unjustified and Poor Customer Service

I have been a UniFi Hosted Cloud customer for several years. Initially, the first three years were complimentary, and the next two years were charged at £10.80 + VAT — a fair and predictable rate.

This year, I was presented with a 38.9% increase to £15 + VAT for the exact same service. This is utterly unjustifiable. The provider’s explanation about operational costs does not justify such a massive jump, especially when the service itself hasn’t changed.

I know this is not a great deal of money, but its the principal. Whats to stop them adding the same increase again next year. No thanks.

I requested that a manager review this excessive increase, but no escalation was offered. The response implied that “pricing has been maintained for nearly five years,” which is misleading given that the first three years were complimentary — so the claim of a long-standing fixed rate is moot.

I have now moved all my devices to a local UniFi controller and no longer need the Hosted Cloud. The fact that they risk losing loyal customers over such an unreasonable increase is staggering.

I would caution anyone considering this service: expect unpredictable price hikes, and don’t rely on management to address concerns fairly. A 38.9% increase year-on-year is unacceptable for any consumer.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. I ordered 3 drives from Broadbandbuyer but never received a tracking number. On their website it said items dispatched but a week later I still haven't received the package. I called them and they confirmed I would receive it the next day or in 2 days max...nothing. I called again and they said they check and email me back. They never did. I called a 3rd time and they told me that the items weren't in stock. I had a technician lined up to install and setup my new NAS but I kept cancelling it. I lost 10 days and as a professional I can't afford to be lied to and messed about.

AVOID, UNETHICAL BUSINESS STANDARDS!

AVOID THIS COMPANY!

Bought a few things from here and wanted to return 1 thing because it was faulty and the other 2 because they just didn't suit my needs. They requested multiple images from multiple angles on every single device before it get sent back which of course i obliged to. Then I get an email saying there is damage to one of the units i sent back, I explain there wasn't any when I sent it back, I have the images to prove it! I have asked 4 times to see this "Damage" I have been ignored at every turn, I said if you are going to reduce my payout due to this unknown and undocumented damage that i haven't even seen, I'll take the products back and sell them on myself. After that i got a refund of the reduced amount, Even though I said if you are going to refund me the reduced amount, I'll take the items back and sell myself. They think they can try to make you quiet by sending some money back and thinking "Oh that'll shut them up" NO, This is a awful trading standard and will be reporting these practices to the Ombudsman as they have ignored my every request and if i still cannot see images of this "Damage" I WILL take this company to a small claims court to make up the difference!

Ali is the man!

Ali has been so helpful in designing our WIFI system. He is so knowledgeable about all aspects of WIFI and has certainly taught us a few tricks in optimising the system he specified and supplied. Highly recommended!

Will take your money and not deliver all items then try to make it your fault.

Have used broadband buyer for years, first time having an issue and customer service is awful. Ordered 3 items, only 2 arrived in the packet. Have sent CCTV that shows the 2 items being delivered.

Customer service taking a hard stance of it was scanned out of their warehouse so it's my problem. I spend a few thousand pounds a year with this company so to be shut down so abruptly over a £65 item I have paid for and not received is quite frankly disgusting.

Very disappointed

Have used this company for 4 years now, always choose DPD to deliver as I’m too busy fitting WI-FI then waiting at home to sign for a delivery, ordered 3 items and paid extra for next day delivery, unaware that one item was getting dispatched from another location via DHL, not once was I notified of this and received the usual regular updates from DPD, when the package arrived I called customer service to report one item missing, was then told that the other item was coming from DHL, once customer service sent me the tracking they apparently attempted delivery that day, I have full CCTV coverage and I can assure not DHL person stepped foot on my property, I was also told my next day charge would be refunded, still no confirmation of this happening, item finally turned up but has cost me time and money having to go back to the site to connect this device at a future date, not good enough guys, I’d rather pay a little bit more and order the same equipment from amazon as at least it’s guaranteed to come next day

Excellent customer service

Excellent customer service - my knowledgeable agent Ali was patient and helpful even when I phoned back to change the order. The change saved a little money and Ali put the refund of the balance straight through without question. Nothing is too much trouble for these guys.

Illegal practices

It is not legal for a UK retailer to ask customers to waive their return rights. Retailers cannot remove or restrict a customer's statutory rights, such as the right t to cancel online purchases within a certain period. Unfortunately Broadbandbuyer ties to do that, no warrning during placing the order, just an email after trying to convince customers to waive their right to return.
