Where to start!
Bought a car 21/03/2026, next morning check engine light is on, along with stop/start warning light. After some back and forth they send me to a 'mechanic' - it was an hour round trip to a lock up at the end of a secluded road. He changed the battery and sparks, car ok. 2 days later, same warning messages, I'm told to go back to him, he changed two of the coils, car okay again. 5 hours of time and 2 hours of petrol at this point. It happens again! I'm told, go back and he'll change the other two, we'll arrange a time. When I pointed out I'm not happy, I was shown a 117 point 'pre delivery inspection checklist' that showed the car was checked and all okay, that this all should've been fixed the first time I went to their recommended mechanic and that I'm already 5 hrs and 2 hrs petrol wasted and what are they going to do about this? Jay has since ignored my calls and messages and I'm left with a car with a check engine light on. Awful.
And I've read other reviews, if Car City Luton decide to write in here that this is a false review I will post a copy of our WhatsApp conversation to prove what I'm saying. I've reported to Trading Standards and Auto Trader, please take my advise and stay away from this dealership, cannot be trusted.

Dreadful, the car was advertised wrong. Bad damage the the exterior which cannot be seen the the pictures. Left a deposit with them but when we said we didn’t want the car we were flatly refused the deposit back without reason. Jay was so rude and tried to make out that we were rude asking for our money back! Cannot believe the attitude of this man.
On test drive he also insisted on sitting in the front for no reason whilst on test drive (which was pointless as I don’t think we were in the car more than 90 seconds) Jay also spoke very rudely about another customer which had driven to buy a car, he called him a nuisance… so unprofessional absolutely would not give this company a single penny. If I could give 0 starts I would!
Think carefully before buying from this dealer.
I purchased a car from this dealer which developed a serious fault just after one month. Attempts to resolve the issue through customer service did not lead to a satisfactory outcome. The car came with a 3-month gearbox warranty, and I also purchased an additional 1-year AA warranty for £700 from the dealer, but the repair cost exceeded the cover limit. The dealer is not accredited by The Motor Ombudsman, limiting options for independent resolution. Based on my experience. I would advise others to think carefully before buying from this dealer.

Absolutely DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE! Having made an appointment and been told if the vehicle had sold before that appointment, I would be informed. I was NOT!
Having spoken to the sales assistant at length and explained the situation and having got a carer at my own expense to look after my elderly and disabled father, they showed no respect either morally or professionally.
One visit was made on an evening where it was cold and icy and we were handed a key and told to go and look at the car at the back of the Lot. Nobody from the sales people came with us. We were sent to find the car at the back of a crammed yard where it was pend in. Using the lights of our phone torches we had a look at it we were interested but needed to see in daylight so had to wait for the weekend. All this I explained when going back and speaking to them sending messages confirming an appointment.
And having travelled a second to see the vehicle to be told it had been sold no apology, no explanation! Zero Care!
I feel other people need to be worn about how these people conduct their business.

Not a great experience at all
I travelled 6 hours to pick up a car from Car City (Luton), we were in contact beforehand and I was informed the car would have a fresh MOT. It stated this in the advert as well as them confirming over messages. I arrived to firstly find the car dirty, it hasn't been washed and the inside wasn't the cleanest. Immediately I spotted 2 very worn rear tyres. To be fair they told me then that they would have the tyres changed when the car goes for MOT. We went on a very short test drive through a 20mph zone which wasn't useful to see how the car drove. When back at the car lot they took the car away to have the MOT done. This was an annoyance being that I had told them of how long I had to travel and asked a couple times leading up to our appointment about the MOT getting done. An hour later they received a call about a car needing a part that they couldn't get. I overheard this call which I don't think they were aware of. I asked on multiple occasions how long the car will be at the garage as I have a long way to travel home. If it wasn't going to be ready I needed to sort out how I am going to get home. They kept telling me it won't be long and that there is a delay on the tyres being delivered. They kept telling me this but wasn't making any calls to the garage. A little after 3 hours of me sitting there I asked yet again how long, again without calling the garage I was told it'll be another 45 minutes. After 45 minutes and without calling the garage again, I was told the car needed a rear shock and that this was a main dealer part that they couldn't get hold of today. Sounded much like the phone call the received 3 hours prior to this. They told me if I take the car away with me, get the MOT done back where I live, order the shock and have it fitted then send them the invoice, they will pay me back for it. Firstly I should not have to do this, secondly after what I experienced in those 4 hours sitting there I do not trust that they will pay me. They know I live 6 hours away, they probably assumed the longer they drag it on and leave me sitting there, the less likely I am to sort my own travel home. I left the car lot, walked to the train station and paid £140 for a ticket back home. The MOT should have been done before I got there, and to not even clean the car! I would not recommend this business through my experience.

Might be ok if you have zero issues. Absolutely terrible if you do, I'd give 0 stars if I could. My Aunt purchased a car from them in Feb 2024. She bought the car unseen and as such was protected under distance selling rules. This meant she could return the car without needing a reason. The delivery driver harassed her into signing for the car before she was properly able to assess it, and despite assurances that it would have a new MOT, it was delivered without a new MOT, with it having less than 6 months to go (they are RAC approved, which guarantee's a minimum of 6 months). She called the Car City Luton and was coerced into accepting the car, with promises they would still sort the MOT. On inspection, the car was covered in scratches that had not been highlighted on the video walk round and were bad enough that combined with the lack of an MOT meant she decided to return the car.
Cue MONTHS of difficulty in getting them to acknowledge the laws on distance selling and eventual discussions of legal action and they eventually agreed to take the car back, with a discount for the collection costs (god forbid they have any inconvenience or expense!), which was a joke as delivery was included in the price and therefore not legally deductible. But at this point we were just ready to be done with them. The car was finally returned in May 2024.
We thought that was the end of the horrendous service, but alas! 9 months later, in Feb 2025, we have yet more hassle, as the well established dealers failed to complete the incredibly basic task of registering the new owner. Cue PCN's being received and alerting my Aunt, causing yet more stress and disruption. One call to their office and I was assured they would resolve this. I was foolish enough to trust them at their word, very much my mistake. May 2025 and yet another PCN and confirmation the car is STILL in my Aunts name. So, again I call them and reiterate they need to resolve this and once again I am given false promises of them actually taking responsibility. I was told to WhatsApp them, which I have done several days ago and they can't even be bothered to reply.
Congratulations if you've made it to the end of this saga! In conclusion, if you want a guaranteed hassle free experience, even if things don't quite go to plan then AVOID this company at all costs.
Brought a car through this dealership
Brought a car through this dealership, about 10 days after it arrived we found out the car was CAT S, and had quite alot of faults on it (faults that should have never passed an MOT!!!!) I rejected the car so when it went back to the dealer. What did I find it back up for sale on the website but also the AA approved website!! Still nothing on the advert about it being a CAT S and also mileage on the advert is wrong!!!
