I'm a member from the very beginning after recommendation from legendary coach John Bartholomew. Chessable has revolutionized learning. Everything you need to know about chess is there. I can only be positive.

I spend a lot of time studying S&S courses. Chessable just made those courses PRO only, which means you have to start paying for an account to be able to keep studying them. Ridiculous they take something that you already got away like that!

I have several paid chess books on chessable. I usually log in via facebook, but since a week ago it doesn't work. I have been in contact with Chessable support with no help. Have sent bank statements of the payments, but it is apparently not enough. They also want me to email my card number. My bank advises against it.

Paying for courses: When you go to checkout you can pay in USD, GBP, EUR or NOK and it turns out EUR gives the lowest payment amount.

By the way, I set my chess.com account to different locations to see what would happen.

Can be an excellent way to improve your chess, but crashes repeatedly so that it becomes incredibly frustrating, since you are locked out of courses you’ve paid for.

I think their concept is only suitable for drilling openings. It's not suitable to drill for endgames, strategy or tactics. Not yet, though with improvements over time it might be suitable for tactics as well.

So the usability of this site is extremely limited I feel. But they respond excellently on any type of feedback. They refunded quite a few purchases I made. Most courses are not good in my view. But it has nothing to do with Chessable as they do not make these courses, they only provide the interface to practice and to watch videos.

They never gave me a hard time when I requested a refund. Only once or twice they were curious as to why, but that's OK. Got my money back fast always.

Biggest complaint: the chessboard is small. There's a learning mode and a training mode. Despite different options, the board ought to be bigger.

All in all despite the limited usability and a need for better interface design, the company itself does many things right otherwise. Such is my experience.

The site seems to be down most of the time.
