Sold my VW Touareg through Coopers
Sold my VW Touareg through Coopers, Luke was great from start to finish, gave an honest appraisal and explained the reasons for the valuation. Absolutely no complaints and process was really straightforward, would highly recommend 👍
Refreshingly pleasant experience
I've just got home with my lovely Skoda from Coopers Cars SW and buying it has been a refreshingly pleasant experience. As a retired female, I was at least expecting to be patronised and certainly subjected to a hard sell. There was none of that at all, just a straightforward, polite and friendly interaction. Pick up was also easy and efficient. All very reassuring and I wholeheartedly recommend.
Miss sold a car that is unsafe to drive…
Miss sold a car with a unsafe to drive fault, and illegal repairs. No service history as advertised, adblue system disconnected, epb complete failure, brake shuddering, brake pipe faults, headlight fault low voltage. No communication from the dealer about these faults so had no choice but to complain to finance company for rejection.

I sold my car to Coopers
I sold my car to Coopers, Luke dealt with me.
It was a wholey pleasant experience, no haggling, i was given what the car was worth after a quick inspection by one of the mechanics, there was no picking up on tiny scratches, mini mud marks and dead insect entrails to try and knock the price down. Just quick, easy professional service. Money was in my acccount immediately, even got a lift home. Thankyou guys. I would sell my car to you anytime 😊
AVOID!
I genuinely regret buying a car from Coopers Car Sales and I could not imagine a worse experience.
My partner and I bought a Jeep Renegade in March 2025. The initial experience was good and they provided what seemed like a good service. We travelled from the West Midlands to collect the car and agreed on a slightly lower price than it was listed for, so overall it seemed like a great experience.
Little did we know that just one week later my partner and I would be left on the side of the road with a wheel that was barely attached to the car. If this had happened on the motorway, I dread to think what the outcome could have been.
After taking the car to a garage to be inspected, we were given a quote of around £1,000 worth of repairs, which luckily the warranty covered most of.
We also discovered that the air conditioning did not work at all, something that was never mentioned at the point of sale and would have cost us around £120 to fix ourselves, as this was not covered under the warranty.
I called the garage myself and explained everything, expecting at the very least an apology or some explanation as to how this could happen so soon after buying a car that was described as being in brilliant condition. I asked whether they would inspect the car themselves or offer compensation, or even a full refund and take the car back.
Their response was that we should just “call it even” because we had some money off the car when we bought it. I was in complete shock at what I was hearing and the tone they used — it felt like I was speaking to a completely different person to the one who sold us the car.
Even after coming out of the garage, the car continued to develop numerous issues with the electrics and systems. This genuinely left us scared to travel far in the car, as we had no trust that it was safe to drive at all.
I sent them a letter explaining that we were within the 30 days of purchase and had the right to a refund or replacement. They did receive my letter, as they had to sign for it, but I never received any response. I then sent another letter with a deadline for a reply, but again there was complete silence.
From reading other people’s reviews, there are now multiple customers sitting with cars on their drives that they cannot trust. We came to Coopers Car Sales because they seemed genuine and trustworthy, but that now feels like nothing more than a front to secure a sale. Once you have bought the car, I can vouch that they want absolutely nothing to do with you and will not help if anything goes wrong.
I hope people are extremely wary before buying a car from this garage and understand what they may be getting themselves into.
Very helpful and empathetic
My car developed a small fault almost 6 months after I purchesaed a vehicle they sorted it straight away no issues and free of charge no cost to myself as a good will gesture , I have also purchased 2 vehicles in past for family members all with no issues would recommend them highly
Do not buy from this garage - AVOID
Do not buy from this garage. AVOID at all costs
I purchased a car for 5k on 29th October, after driving the car on one short journey the next day it packed in, they came to collect it and have had the car ever since! almost 7 weeks on and still no update. Communication has been non existent, they ignore emails and now ignoring phone calls. After speaking to trading standards we rejected the car under consumer rights act 2015 via email but as always no response.
We issued a letter last week to start court proceedings and I look forward to see if they actually respond to this one!
So 7 weeks on we are 5k down and no car!! And a very unhappy 17 year old daughter who passed her test and has been without a car :-(
Excellent communication
Excellent communication, Luke was very helpful and patient with all the questions I asked, would go back for my next car when needed.
no pressure
no pressure, answered all questons in plain english.
car was immaculately presented.
allowed to take our time with the test drive, all in all a good hassel free experience.
would recommend.
Stolen/Recovered
Purchased a Fiesta @ £5000 2 years ago. Went to sell today and discovered the car was listed Stolen/Recovered before I purchased it. I was never made aware of this fact, as I would never have purchased in the first place. Coopers claim they are either RAC/AA accredited. This cannot be when selling these type of cars. Coopers also claim their cars are given a full HPI check before sale. Obviously this claim is also false.
We will be approaching Citizens Advice & Trading Standards about this matter
I wouldn't recommend to anyone
I wouldn't recommend to anyone. I bought a car in November 2024 and have since spent hundreds on repairs despite having a full clean MOT with no advisories. Clutch went within the first 3 months, was told it didn't come under warranty. Coopers picked it up and fixed it but still had more problems. A family member bought a car a few months before me and has also had no end of problems. Been in the garage more than it's been driven

Very helpful when you need it
I brought a truck from this company a few months ago. Although it has had a hiccup- Luke and the team where great in bringing a tow truck to me, taking my truck back to be fixed and leaving me with a vehicle to use whilst it was being fixed. Ive had too many awful experiences in this country with vehicles.. My experience with them has been the best yet. I have had a supposedly reputable dealer gag order me to get the money back from a knacker of a van that went wrong 20 mins after I brought it for top money. I now know why certain dealers have a supposedly good reputation. These guys have been human about it which is so refreshing and a massive relief.
Please please avoid using this company…
Please please avoid using this company at all costs. I bought a car for my daughter with a fresh MOT and four months later it had been deemed dangerous to drive. Trading standards had to get involved and they also investigated the garage that did the MOT. Severe structural rust on the rear suspension had been covered up with underseal. My daughter could easily have been killed driving this car if the suspension had collapsed on the motorway.
The experience with Cooper cars I can’t…
The experience with Cooper cars I can’t fault, sorted everything fast and professional. Would recommend them and use them again.
Avoid this company at all costs
Avoid this company at all costs. My son purchased a car from this company on finance, he had no end of issues with the car. In the end they decided the car was unfixable and that the finance would be retracted. They charged my son 45p per mile he has done in the car since owning it but when we asked for proof that this was in the contract they wouldnt provide proof and the finance company paid the 45p per mile to them, my son had done over 2000 miles. They did say that if we purchased another car from them they would waver the fee. My son ended up out of pocket and no car. The car was sold to him not fit to drive, the tyres were not road worthy but it had apparently passed an MOT. If you are looking for a safe reliable car don't go to this garage.
Great experience again
Great experience again. Between me and my family we've purchased a total of 12 cars from Coopers over the last 10 years. All of us have had a great experience, nothing is too much trouble. They even help me out with my car insurance too. Any little niggles have been dealt with promptly. Thanks for everything.
Staff rude and underqualified
Staff rude and underqualified. Vehicle went back within 3 months for a repair on the handbrake. Took 15 mins didn't even take it in the garage just repaired it by the entrance to the garage. Within 2 weeks the problem was back again. Spoke to the main office. They said they was not willing to repair again due to being out of the 3 month warranty. The repair was not carried out correctly in the first place. I spoke to 2 other garages and told me the repair was not carried out correctly. As a consequence I had an accident which is going to cost me another 400 pounds to repair.
Coopers Cars South West are NOT connected
Please be aware that Coopers Cars Sales of Caerphilly have absolutely no connection with Coopers Cars South West in Somerset in any way! Coopers Cars South West take a MASSIVE amount of pride in supplying lovely cars, please see our reviews. A very different story.
Sad reminder of unscrupulous garages
Sadly I'm also having to give a bad review which adds to the long list of disappointed buyers on this site. I bought a Vauxhall Antara from Coopers Car Sales in November for £4000 and have just been told at the first MOT that it needs £3000 of work hence is beyond economic repair. The history of subframe rust miraculously did not show up on the Coopers MOT last year so I assumed it was fixed. Make no assumptions, this was clearly a suspiciously empty MOT. Also was told the flywheel and clutch were replaced but the new garage has picked up on a flywheel issue just 11 months on. I called Coopers and was told "if you want a sob story I lost 7 grand on a car recently". A sad reminder that some people are pure sharks and don't care a jot after they've taken your hard earned cash. I'll be avoiding and telling everyone I know to also avoid too.
