Overcharges not reliable can not speak basic English speaking in slang charged me £300 for diagnosing?? They take the call without doing any work avoid avoid avoid one star is generous

I’ve kept tabs on this company for a bit. Since poor use. Seems there’s more bad reviews. The company address has changed according to Company House. The risk is that they may even close or remarkably set up a new scam firm.

Absolutely disgusting company do not use these. We had a problem with our electric keep tripping so we rang them as they said they would come straight out. The call out fee was £47 which we were ok with. As soon as he stepped through the door he said it will cost us £410 to test the electric, at this stage it had already cost us and I didnt know how much it should of cost so we begrudgingly agreed. He spent several hours testing things and then said we needed a rewire and he could come back in the morning to start. I said I would like to get a few quotes before. He said ok but you need to pay for today before I leave which somehow was now £550. They sent an invoice for me to pay and and i would get a report in the morning. When we went upstairs he had left light switches with no covers on and we weren't able to use lights or appliances over 3 amp. When I eventually got the report the next day the bank details on this invoice were the same but with a different payee name on it which is strange and the report didnt really tell us much except to say the wires were perished.

We managed to contact a local electrician the next day who spent all day testing everything, he found the fault which was a lose wire in a light fighting and it cost me £300 in total for him to do this.

If we hadnt got a second opinion we would of had a pointless re wire.

This company sent a plumber which overcharged us massively to repair our toilet which was not re-filling and also the boiler to be re-pressurised
He replaced one part in the toilet which didn’t fix the issue and also left the boiler in overheat lockout which was air in the system and low pressure
He failed to return to fix the issues and we had to pay for another plumber to fix the repairs
AVOID!

My elderly mother was having trouble with the flush buttons on her toilet, they were not releasing. A 'professional' plumber came and her invoice amounted to £1,617.60. Call out £48.00, Procedure £850.00 Creating access for cold mains pipe £450. Total rip off and left her bathroom in a right mess. AVOID.

Wow…..Carlton Nottingham area….chap called George turned up as my 89 yr old mums toilet was leaking….did not turn stopcock/iso valve off..left it leaking and said bill would be £650+vat……my mum rang me and I told him to ‘do one’…..water inlet in cistern was faulty……£15 from Screwfix and 10mins to fit (I’m not a plumber)…..shocking!!!!!! Avoid like the plague!!!!!!

Absolute scam merchants! Our 92 year old neighbour had a leak in the kitchen. Obvious leak … water spurting from a broken seal in a pushfit elbow joint. They wanted NINE HUNDRED POUNDS for “leak detection!”
LEAK DETECTION!!! It was THERE! In front of your face!!!
Then they wanted SEVEN HUNDRED POUNDS to fix the leak!
IT WAS A PUSHFIT ELBOW JOINT!
Total of £1600 for a job that would take less than 10 minutes!
It was 11 at night and if I’d had one of the joints in my toolbox I’d have done it myself!
Absolutely livid!

Utter scam, tried to charge over £620 to fix a flush on our toilet. Had to pay them £88 to leave. They were sent to us from George the Plumber. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Rip off merchants cannot recommend, charged£897 for fitting £15 part . unbelievable. Next time I will Google it myself and do it , not rocket science but I panicked at first. Can't believe there are people out there to rip pensioners off.

I was charged £67.70 just for someone to walk through my front door, ask what the problem was, open my cupboard, and tell me, “That’s not going to be fixed tonight.”

I then received a text quoting over £600 just to diagnose the issue. The problem was already known – I needed a new stopcock because I had no water.

After paying the £67.70 call-out fee, we decided not to continue because they couldn’t even guarantee what the diagnosis would be, despite us already knowing exactly what was wrong. Instead of simply replacing the faulty stopcock, they wanted hundreds of pounds just to investigate it further.

We politely declined the quote and asked the engineer to leave.

My advice? Avoid, avoid, avoid. Don’t hand over your money. In my experience, I paid £70 to open a cupboard with no guarantees and emergency call out and for someone to tell me what I already knew! then received a quote of over £600 before any actual repair had even been carried out. A complete waste of money. Do not trust them!

A bill for almost a grand to replace a part that cost less than £50 is a joke. I queried this with the engineers but because I had water pouring through ceiling downstairs from a leak in the bathroom I reluctantly agreed to this excessive quote.
I tried to contact CM to dispute this price but was unable to do so...until the engineers had completed the job. I then had a heated conversation with someone at CM, but he would not negotiate on this price.
When the engineers spoke to him he did actually knock a little bit off, but they would not leave my property until I paid. From a legal point of view I believe this practice to be highly questionable.
Under pressure and under duress I paid. Never again.
I have raised this matter with both the Police and Trading Standards.

Based on the information and photographs I received, I genuinely believed there may have been a burst pipe or a serious water leak. I became extremely concerned and anxious about the safety of the property and potential damage. Avoid at all costs.

Being new to the area, I contacted this company without checking reviews first. I was quoted a call-out fee of £48 + VAT, which seemed reasonable given the situation. However, once the plumber attended, my son was told that I needed to authorise further work and payment. I then received a message quoting £695 + VAT, with additional costs potentially on top of that.
I already had a plumber arranged by the property owner to attend the following day regarding another plumbing issue, so it was not my decision to approve such a significant expense. The whole experience added unnecessary stress to what was already a very worrying situation.
Thankfully, I did not proceed with the work. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to obtain multiple quotes and thoroughly check reviews before engaging this company.

Horrendous company! Charged my 81 year old gran a £68 call out fee as she had no electrics. Turned up then charged her 600 pounds to 'isolate the fault' and left having not fixed the issue or found fault, and made her pay over £1000!!

Disgraceful service from this company. Plumbing emergency. Company sends a bathroom fitter without the right tools who can’t fit the problem; initially demands £600 drops it to £200 and then we have to pay - problem not resolved and no sign of money reimbursement. Continual promises for a call back from management.

We had a leak coming from the sink trap underneath out kitchen sink so i called a company who sent the work to this company.

One engineer came and assessed the sink and then said he would ask his manager for a quote. After returning he quoted £600 (550 for the work and 50 for the call out fee). I panicked and accepted the quote, after he fixed the leak it turns out all he did was take the trap off and refit it.

Took him 10 minutes for 600 quid, Avoid at all costs

I called as I had a leak in my hot water tank. The price quoted for the call-out was £49, a further charge of £75 for locating the leak was added. I have ended up paying £478 in total to make the leak safe and been given a further quote or £1675 to repair the tank. I felt uncomfortable as two young men arrived as I was in the house alone and obliged to pay for this initial temporary fix. I feel I have been ripped off and subsequent enquiries have shown me it would be cheaper to remove and replace the unit. I would not recommend this company or use them again.

I contacted this company for a leak from the U-bend under my sink after being connected through Google’s recommended business feature. This turned out to be a serious mistake.

Umer attended with another person. From the outset, I had very little confidence in their experience, professionalism, or technical knowledge, so I stayed and watched the work closely.

In my opinion, no proper diagnosis or meaningful repair was carried out. The pipework was simply taken apart and put back together again, with no clear explanation of what had actually been fixed or why the charge was justified.

Despite this, I was charged £150 and felt pressured to pay immediately, with the clear impression that they were not going to leave until I did. The situation felt uncomfortable and unprofessional. Thankfully I knew I was able to refund this through Google for recommending them.

What concerns me even more is that, when I checked the company’s Google reviews afterwards, I saw a number of other reviews describing similar concerns around poor workmanship, high charges, and pressure to pay. Some of those reviews also appeared to mention vulnerable or elderly customers. I cannot personally verify those other experiences, but I found it extremely concerning, especially as those reviews no longer appear to be visible.

Based on my own experience, I would strongly advise others to be extremely cautious before allowing this company into their home, particularly anyone vulnerable, elderly, or likely to feel intimidated by pressure to pay on the spot.

I would not use this company again and would not recommend them.
