I have bought a Astra Vxr from these crooks about 2 years ago . I had issues with it right away ! One of the things was the shock absorber on the back . He made me drive from Stoke to Derby to one of his Russian Crook mechanics, left the car there for a week then picked it up being told is done . Today I find out he didn’t and lied he did . He also claimed money from the warranty company to do it but didn’t. I know is not much I can do now about it but I want everybody to know who these crooks are ! Do not buy and avoid at all costs !! Honestly! They shouldn’t be allowed to function as a business!!

Like the last reviewer Dawn I bought a car from them and in 2 months, well within the warranty, the engine catastrophically failed whilst driving with my family on the A1.
I thought that I would be covered by the warranty they had sold me but found out it wasn't worth the paper it was written on. This was because of the fact that the engine had been repaired for the same fault about 6 to 8 months earlier and the claim paid.
The car was obviously stored somewhere because it had rodents nest above the engine who had eaten through varies electric wires.
I spoke with the proprietor Jay who I now know is called Jed about repairs without satisfaction. It led to me getting the services of a solicitor and a long legal battle to get the car repaired at their cost.
I had many a restless night worrying about how the situation would resolve itself.
This also left me without my own transport as I had spent a great deal purchasing the car in the first place.
It has left me out of pocket, but I have the satisfaction of knowing I wasn't going to give in to these these dodgy dealers.
I wish I had found the reviews before I set foot on their premises. I also wish that I had paid by credit card.
Avoid this dealership like the plague.

If I could give a minus 100 score believe me I would. Bought the CX5 back in October 2024. Issues from first day, After returning vehicle for 2 failed repairs car was returned to DP beginning of December for full refund. DP refused to refund. Long story took them to court won the judgement but they still failed to return my money now including cost. Had to trace the actual owners trading as DP, and then applied to the court to get name of defendant changed to actual owners (trading as) so High Court enforcement officers could act. Low and behold out of the blue received email saying money had been refunded. Took 12 months to conclude.STEER CLEAR DO NOT DO ANY DEALS WITH THESE CONMEN.

If I could give this so called garage a zero I would. I stupidly didn’t even read these reviews until today when I thought I’d see if anyone else had been dealt with appallingly. It seems I got off extremely lightly looking at the reviews. I bought a Land Rover discovery sport from them without going to view as I’ve owned one before. I asked for a video which was sent over however it didn’t look like the shiny pictures in the show room. I thought nothing of it until it came to arranging delivery. I was promised it would be with me that same weekend when I purchased it on the Thursday. No one turned up. I was then promised the Monday, again no one turned up. I was then made contact with and told Wednesday. Again, no one turned up. By Thursday I’d told them I needed it there the next day due to selling my other car. They then promised me that weekend. I decided I’d had enough of being messed about and started to look elsewhere. Found another car closer to home so asked them to refund me the full amount. Then got a phone call where the guy just proceeded to shout at me. Told me the car didn’t arrive initially because it had failed its emissions test, again this was kept from me. Then apparently the sales person I was dealing with was in hospital with a hernia (too much information) and the delivery driver had been off sick too. Again not my problem!! He then said he’d paid extra to get the car to me by the weekend which I said wasn’t good enough and I now wanted a refund as I found another vehicle. He then suddenly said he could get the vehicle to me the next day (this is all on a call at 7pm at night). I refused and said the service I’d received so far didn’t bode well for future and he said well you haven’t got the car yet so how do you know?! Well based on your attitude so far shouting at a customer is not the right way to deal with things. He then ended the call with I’ll have to speak to the owner to see if we can refund you, legally you have to pal so crack on. It’s then taken me 14 days to get my money back. Granted I have it back unlike a lot of the unfortunate souls I’m reading here. The emails were rude when I requested and said it’ll take 14 days, funnily enough 14 days later I WhatsApp them asking where my money is (bearing in mind my email had all my bank details) on and they respond with what are my details to send the money to and instantly the money is returned so don’t believe the 14 days rubbish on returning your money it’s probably just a way for them to make some interest on other peoples hard earned cash after significantly letting people down. Avoid at all costs, based on the other reviews I got off extremely lightly. Don’t be another victim!!

Now known as Derbyshire performance. If there was 0 stars I'd give that!! Too much has happened for me to explain but in a nutshell, Few months ago I took them to court mediation.. within 13 days of me purchasing the car last year, it went into limp mode and went completly dead on the moterway, and they then had it well over 7 weeks.. 3 times they said it was "fixed" and it was either the same problem not fixed, or a new fault!! After paying privately to find out about these scammers, within a year (may 2024) 6 other people either took them to court or court mediation like myself. STAY WELL CLEAR!!

Worst 4 months of my life.

Purchased a car in good faith, delivered with engine warning light on, broken down 2 weeks later, cost over 3 grand to repair, once paying for a diagnostic & refusing the car, the dealership then went onto avoiding any form of contact. Even to the extent of blocking my number. Stuggling what to do....luckily I purchased through a very good finance group, once I rejected the car, the dealership didnt want to know, however the finance company were amazing and fought my case. Never to receive a log book, they still never took my part ex into ther name, so i had the police chasing me with invalid insurance. How this dealership is doing what they are doing to its customers is shocking. Please please avoid these scammers.

When things go wrong, they dont want to know, customer service is nonexistent, cars are shoddy at best. In their own words, they ‘know ‘nuffin about cars!’ Apparently!!
No MOT certificate provided at sale, so have to dig on line for it after purchase.
Car was plagued with issues, including gear box, which cost me thousands to put right.
A prime example of how car buying should NOT be!

This company now known as Derbyshire performance is a complete scam, they took a deposit and promise to deliver a car which they didn’t , instead they kept re advertising the car , when delivery day arrived Kevin suddenly went quiet and wasn’t responding. The reviews speak volumes and I wish I had read them beforehand. Total scammers

Bought a car in September 2025, with 1 years warranty, MOT and service, and a valet that should have been completed prior to collection.

Collected the car, which was really rushed due to other potential customers arriving at the showroom and stupidly trusted Jed when he said that everything had been completed. We paid and left.

All is good until we get home and we go to admire our new car and notice that the parcel shelf is missing and the interior of the boot was coated in dog hairs. DEFINITELY NO PROPER VALET.

The parcel shelf was there when we first viewed the car and there was no dog hair present at the time.

Called Derbyshire Performance who said that it was impossible to have dog hairs in the boot and that the parcel shelf was never there! So, did the car grow them? Oh yes, it must have - silly me! It must have got hungry also and snacked on the parcel shelf too.

Within a couple of days the car started to make an horrific knocking sound whenever driven. Called DP and was advised to take it to their garage in Burton on Trent the week after, as there wasn't enough room in their showroom. That's 150 miles round trip!

Something didn't feel right, so I took it to my local garage to get it checked out. They confirmed my suspicions that the REAR TOP MOUNTS needed replacing and it should NOT have passed it's MOT with such a fault. They also confirmed that the service was not carried out as DP said it was.

Eventually got hold of DP and persuaded them to allow me to return the car for an inspection as they said it couldn't possibly have that fault as it would have FAILED it's MOT. I agreed for them to carry out the inspection and I waited, and waited, and waited to hear back from them.

Fast forward 4 weeks; and despite in the meantime leaving numerous voicemails and emails, heard nothing from them until I wanted to cancel the agreement. This was when they turned nasty.

I received an email back stating that I had agreed to the repairs and that it the car would be ready in 2 weeks. I thought, I NEVER agreed to any repairs because I've not heard back from you, and they denied what my garage said, but ok, great, my cars going to be ok...

So, what have you repaired? I waited, again.... Still no word on the status of the repair and the nature of the repair. Was it the MOT FAILURE fault that was the problem, or something else?

I received several nasty unprofessional emails from them daily whilst on holiday. These were threatening storage fees of £75 per day if I didn't come and collect the car. I felt pressured, again by these people, and agreed to collect the car from them under duress, on the condition they could confirm what repairs they had carried out. They did not send me anything.

I eventually got legal representation, and fast forward again to March 2025, 6 months after the fact, I finally have my car back and they did confirm that they repaired the MOT FAILURE fault.... 6 months it took them!

It gets better, keep reading....

On agreement by both sides, it was agreed that I would collect the car.

On arrival at DP, I found my car abandoned, filthy and scratched up in the Screwfix Car park next door, it had never been in storage. Charlie was not allowed to return the key without me signing a disclaimer stating that they would not be responsible for any future repairs and leave any negative reviews.

It's a good job that I didn't sign anything and that I had brought the spare key, so proceeded to unlock the car. Oh wait, it didn't start. The muppets had left my car abandoned and the battery had died and it had a flat tyre.... And yes, the dog hairs were still covering the boot and no parcel shelf.... Thank goodness for jump leads, and I finally get the car started.

On return, the car needed a new battery and a new tyre, which DP has never compensated me for, and they still refuse to return my key.

I will point out too, that DP did still try to screw me over again with £3.5K of storage fees; that didn't even exist because my car was just left abandoned in the ScrewFix car park.

I know that it has never been in storage because I have received several parking fines over the months they have kept my car - Luckily though I have not had to pay these as I have proven that I didn't have the vehicle in my care. These have been forwarded to Jed as the business owner of Derbyshire Performance.

Let me tell you, the entire ordeal with these people has been extremely stressful and unprofessional and I urge you to read up on these guys. If you read up on other peoples reviews, you will note that they have had very similar unfair experiences too, and not just from the reviews on this site.

If I had read up more and wasn't just blinded by their bulls**t, I wouldn't be in this position now. Trust me, save yourself the hassle and your hard earned money and due your due-diligence - Don't be fooled by the sparkly website and bravado.

Brought a car online, It arrived a wreck on the back of a trailer that some guy looked liked he just crawled out of the pub. The vehicle arrived in horrid state, full of rubbish, ripped interior and the car wasn't even to spec of the advert. Once confronted they refused to accept any wrong doing and told me to use my warranty to get the car fixed.

I would 100% recommend everyone avoid this place. They will rob you and mock you.

We have had the most terrible experience with Derbyshire Performance. We bought a low mileage 2017 Landrover Discovery for almost £25k from them in March 2025 and within 2 days the car went into limp / restricted performance mode and at times would not travel at more than 30 miles per hour. A number of additional faults also came to light after we had taken the car. We returned the car to the dealer within 1 week of taking it, having lost all confidence in it - and requested a full refund in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015. But they refused to return our funds saying that they would instead fix the car (which after reading other Trustpilot ratings - we did not trust them to do). After 3 months, we have been very lucky to be able to recover our funds via a Chargeback with Visa via our bank (but this was only because we insisted on paying for the car by Visa debit card). Our advise would be to never pay for a car by bank transfer as you are then not protected. Though our ultimate advise would be to never buy a car from Derbyshire Performance anyway, no matter how good a deal they might be offering. Best to steer clear!

Do not buy from these guys! After two months still haven't received my logbook, I had to pay to get one sorted myself and send them around 12 messages to get them to refund me for this. I also had a car engine lights come on just weeks after buying the car they wanted me to return the car miles and miles and miles away back to them but instead I insisted I get it looked at at my local garage which again I had to ask them to refund me for as I shouldn't be having issues like this weeks after buying a car from them , it makes a knocking noise also when turned on but not in motion, also recently discovered it has some kind of leak when it rains. Many messages and email sent to them probably around 50 and only heard back from them around 15 times communication is absolutely awful. I have now named my car Matilda as I feel like I've been sold an absolute dud!

Awful dealership! Now known as Derbyshire Performance. We have unfortunately fallen victim to their scams, selling faulty cars! The one we bought for over £8000 was proven to be unroadworthy when it was bought and it should never have passed the MOT! It has a lot wrong with it including dangerous faults. We have started court proceedings as they are refusing to take the car back for a refund, ignoring the Consumer Rights act. They know what they're doing to keep getting away with it, please steer clear of this place!!

Absolutely dreadful experience with this company

Steering issue/clutch issue/bodge repair job on front bumper/tyre monitor issue/all within first 8 weeks

I bought a discovery sport on september. it's a complete scrap. the first day it's broke down.
i had to taw the car to my home. when i contact the dealer he said he can repair and will give back the car soon. after 1 month he gave me the same car with same problem.

Nice and easy no nonsense here !!!!

Travelled over 200 miles via public transport to collect a vehicle at a pre-set time. I had put a deposit on a vehicle which was described as immaculate and in show room condition. On arriving at their unit it was found to be closed and I had to wait for over 30mins before someone answered my calls and eventually turned up to meet me. I was then told that the vehicle wasn't on site but the owner of the business was on a test drive in the vehicle to ensure it was perfect. This obviously started ringing alarm bells and I should have walked away at this point. stupidly, I ended up waiting for a further 45 mins until the car arrived and i got my first look. The car did look OK from a distance but it appears you can actually polish a t**d. Long story short, I bought the car and within 15 mins of my drive home, a fault displayed on the dash stating the cars dynamic driving function had an issue and the car was stuck in front wheel drive. I pulled over, called the dealer at least 10 times before they eventually answered, was told that this was common and the warranty would cover inspection and repair. The call was ended extremely abruptly by the dealer. I drove back to their unit but again, no one was there and after 1 hr 30 mins of trying to call and email, no one answered. I begrudgingly drove home, spoke with the warranty company, booked the car in for inspection and i was told that the vehicle needed at least £1800 of repair work. The warranty provider then advised me that due to an error in filling out the warranty form by the dealer that it wasn't covered. I literally called and emailed Derbyshire Performance for days on end which ended in no replies other than receiving one email to say they would look into the issue and get back to me. 2 years later, this still hasn't happened, the car cost me a small fortune in repairs which i've had to pay for out of my own pocket and it's all beyond disappointing. Avoid them at all cost!

I cannot fault my experience of purchasing a Mazda from these guys . I’ve felt welcome and had honest dealings throughout . Top marks from me and my wife .
