Jeff Coffelt is unprofessional

Jeff Coffelt is lazy, doesn't do his job, sexist, and ultimately a criminal. He is the manager of Dignity PCC at jacksonville and scapegoats others for his mistakes to the point of firing new staff to set an example. There is no professionalism, if he does something wrong, he fires you without ever having a conversation. He is out for himself, and walks all over the mission statement of the community service industry. He is rude and invokes immoral practices that hurt staff, and demoralize the families of the deceased. He is the biggest con that exists and will destroy PCC if given the chance.

I was a customer once but NEVER again

I was a customer once but NEVER again. I was until recently an employee at Dignity Funerals, Francis Chapel in Orpington. From the start I received continuous bullying and harrassment from four colleagues. Despite the manager's efforts to stop this it unfortunately continued, which resulted in me being sacked, without so much an interview to explain the situation - just a phone call saying don't come back to work anymore, however, the four perpetrators still work there, free to bully someone else, despite the formal complaint I lodged with Dignity's HR Department and their assurances that my accusations would be dealt with thoroughly.

I had no problems with using Dignity for my parent's funerals, although another branch dealt with those, however, having had such terrible and unfair treatment at Orpington as an employee I would NEVER, EVER use their funeral services again!

I worked for this company for a few…

I worked for this company for a few years. I can tell you they are truly awful. I was sexually assaulted by an older man for over a year. They would not fire him. They would not do anything but send him home for a day!this company needs to be shut down. HR told me it was my doing and I had to explain Everything that happened, how embarrassing. Management is a joke. That company is hell on earth. I wouldn’t send my loved ones there knowing how they treat the living , and I worked there.

Not treated with dignity

While the staff that we interacted with were, for the most part, warm and friendly people, whoever prepared my brother's body did an absolutely horrible job. My family, friends and I had hopes and anticipated being able to be comforted by seeing my brother laying there at peace. I used his measurements to purchase his suit and shirt and let the funeral home know that it was alright to cut the clothes if necessary for a proper fit. What we saw his shirt touching the tip of his chin as if it was a turtleneck sweater and his hands hovering above his stomach with a very visible gap between his hands and stomach. It was so upsetting that so little care was taken to prepare my brother properly that I could barely look at him. The Pastor who did my brother's service was incredibly kind and sincerely comforting which helped enormously. While the funeral home is very beautiful, I will always dissuade everyone I know to steer clear of any Dignity Memorial facility as my brother was not treated with dignity at all.

A beautiful tribute to my mother thanks to the Dignity team!

We celebrated my mother's life in such a wonderful tribute thanks to Beach Memorial Chapel and the Dignity team. Peri Craven was such a caring and compassionate Funeral Director. She and the Beach Memorial Team, Randi Sue and Theresa took the time to ensure everything went without a hitch. Hayley Markowski sat in on our initial meeting and from there created a tribute to my mother that anyone would have sworn she knew her. Mom was represented throughout the rooms to include her favorite "drink" served and an ice cream bar reminiscent of mom's love for ice cream. Thank you for making a very sad day into one where we could remember mom with many smiles and laughs. You are the best!!!!!
With appreciation - The Horan Family

Greed taken to the extreme. If you are…

Greed taken to the extreme. If you are forced to bury a loved one here, please buy as much as you can from third parties. That means you buy plot, casket, flowers and everything else you don't have to purchase from Dignity elsewhere.I bought a plot on Ebay for a third of what Dignity wanted.Of course Dignity wasn't going to let me off that easy.Got me for $400 for transferring the plot.A recent article in our local newspaper surveyed several funeral homes in California and Dignity was the most expensive of all.You can expect to pay about $25-30K for a normal funeral here in So California. Was told that their prices double every 10 years.Go elsewhere if possible.

Disgusting

Disgusting, money grabbing, up selling, uncaring people. They charge 4 times the amount and do a terrible job. My Mom’s viewing she was laid out on an old, wrinkled, tattered grey sheet. It was awful. They had a blanket over her so didn’t even bother pulling up one sock or tying one of her shoes. Here pants were not even pulled down but both around her calf’s. How can someone have so little respect to have a family view their Mother like this. I’m devastated. They didn’t even have Kleenex in the room for us, we had to go get some. I brought Shane back to the room after and asked him if he would put his Mom on top of an wrinkled old bed sheet like they did my and he said no and just apologized. He was just cutting corners and wanted to get us old of there. We had to ask for her jewelry and clothes back. They are just terrible, very expensive, not compassionate money grabbing creepy people. PLEASE SHOP AROUND

I have just received my husband's ashes…

I have just received my husband's ashes -- in a thick clear Plastic bag closed with staples then placed in cardboard box. I have complained strongly to the Co - Op Funeral people who have apologised that I was not told that my husband's ashes would arrive like this. Dignity who own Octon Crematorian have decided that to be eco friendly they would do away with plastic urns and replace them with -- A Plastic Bag - I am so angry - it is all about grabbing more money --£3,000 and what we get is a plastic bag. Do not use this company - nothing but awful reviews I note.

Make sure your remaining family members get extorted!

My MOM and I together bought the prepaid funeral From the sacred heart cemetery. Dignity memorial the owner really shaft the family over and over after the funeral. The "prepaid" part means nothing to them. If you do not buy the gravemarker from them they will charge you 1000 just to approve and allow you to place your loved ones headstone marker on the site you just paid for. We did not like any of the markers they offered and wanted a heart shaped one. The Dignity management then stole our headstone marker and have it using it to extort 1000 from us. This was The Worst experience ever.

Just terrible

Just terrible. My mother was three hours late for her own funeral. The funeral staff was unprofessional and made lame excuses for the lengthy delay. My family has no closure. What happened to the word dignity? The funeral home manager is a professional deceiver. What happened to respect, dignity and honesty?

Horrible experience with this company

Horrible experience with this company. No communication. Still waiting on a phone call from a week ago. Would not recommend anyone using this company to lay a loved one to rest. Look elsewhere. Was hung up on by "Trish" in Jacksonville. Said she had other people to talk to. Pathetic.

My dad had a $15k prepaid funeral so …

My dad had a $15k prepaid funeral so this should be easy correct?
He had bought the plot beside my mother when she passed in 1994 and the rest of his own package. Lets start with the good. Our funeral coordinator Elijah was outstanding - compassionate, detail oriented and met all of our expectations. Went out of his way making the ceremony extra special by adding a dove release by me & my sister and hand delivering an arrangement days after a good 15-20 miles from the cemetery. Very good man.
The rest is all on the funeral home and the grave site person there- Shelly.
We were there 4 hrs (I know, too long for a prepaid event) due to computer issues. My brother had been in an accident 2 days prior to my dads passing and was in obvious pain while here. But no one did anything to speed up the process.
Shelly argued with me about my signature & I wasn't even the one paying the additional interment fee, my brother was. I assured her, I am 50 & have had the same signature for 23 yrs since I got married. The day after loosing someone unexpectedly is Not the time for dragging a person over the coals.
Shelly then took us out to view the plot before it was ready. So, we walk out to find 2 grave diggers Violently stabbing vault finding sticks into the ground looking for my mothers vault. It was horrific to say the least. Shelly's excuse (very rude, zero compassion, should not be in this industry period) said they were having a hard time finding it because the property was sold and marked differently. ( I see another review that Dignity obviously looses graves a lot) So, where my mom is supposed to be and where her headstone is, they couldn't find her vault. My brother is about to pass out from pain & the heat, its August in NC - hot. He just left the hospital the day before having 56k in facial reconstruction- his injuries were more than obvious but she showed him zero compassion. She has us stand there and watch this about 15 min until I lost it. And demand her supervisor. We had removed our dad from a ventilator the day before and now they have lost my moms grave! Shelly gets on the the phone in front of us and uses this language "we having trouble locating a vault & this family p#$^ off, I don't know what to do you better come help me" Her boss comes out with a little map. Semi apologizes, but does agree to refund the $1600 interment fee immediately due to our distress. They "say" they found her plot and had me sign a thing instead of my parents having 248 & 249 they now have 250 & 251. I really don't know if my parents are buried beside each other. Which 6 months later haunts me and my siblings daily.
Then, we go back inside and Shelly brings the thing to sign with the dates of his passing for the marker. It's wrong. I tell her. She doesn't even apologize, she just scribbles it out and ask for the correct date (what kind of funeral helper is she?!) Then the marker was not set for 4 months after this disaster. When she called to see if I knew it was placed, she gave a condescending laugh, and hung up. She is mentally damaged I suppose.
Again I hate to bash the whole deal because everyone else there was phenomenal. But she ruined our experience and I am still not sure at some point I will not have to find out if my parents are even buried next to each other. But that is an obviously painful thing to go through. As I write this, I cannot believe we have not sought legal council on this facility/mishandling of my parents remains and emotional distress.
If Dignity Memorial and Forest Lawn had corporate address's to complain to I sure would. Looks like from all these bad reviews there is a reason they guard that information - they don't want to know & they do not care.
If you go to Forest Lawn West in Charlotte NC I would avoid Shelly at all possible cost. I have emotional distress to this day because of this lady and her horrible horrible unethical and inhuman treatment of my self and family & my parents remains. She should not do this type of work because she lacks not only compassion but I don't even think she has a soul.
