We’re first-time buyers of (hopefully!) a 1930s home in Bristol, and working with Mark and Jon at Domestic Surveys has been nothing short of exceptional.

Jon’s survey was incredibly thorough—80 pages of detailed, clear, and understandable information that gave us exactly what we needed to do our research and make informed decisions. On top of that, we had a 2-3 hour Zoom call with Jon where he walked us through every aspect of the report. He was patient, insightful, and to the point while being genuinely lovely (we’ve never met anyone so enthusiastic about cavity wall ties—it was brilliant!).

We’re so glad we opted for a Level 3 survey and chose Domestic Surveys, even though there was a slightly longer wait time. The detail and professionalism were absolutely worth it. Whether we go for this house or not, we now feel so much more confident and better equipped as buyers. This survey will be invaluable not just now but for any future purchases, repairs, and general knowledge about property quality.

I could not write a more positive review about this company. Jon provided a really in depth, well thought out report and had clearly gone the extra mile throughout the property to inspect, find and pull together all the information I needed to know with my purchase. He then spent a lot of time taking through the report, making sure I understood it and answering any queries that came up. He was also well supported by his team, Martin was incredible at coming back quickly on my queries, helping with recommendations etc etc. An excellent company and one I hope to use for any future moves as well!

We were in the process of purchasing a three bed 60's property in Bristol and needed a survey to be completed.

We made contact and were pleasantly surprised with the professionalism and knowledge of this company. They explained the different types of surveys available and what would be most suitable for this type of property, before allowing us to decide. We went for a Homebuyers Report.

Booking was seamless and they were able to liaise directly with the agent to arrange access to the property.

The report was in-depth and picked up several issues which we wouldn't have noticed. Lee was super helpful and followed up his report with a telephone consultation at no additional cost to go through the report with us and answer any questions we had. This not only allowed us to understand the issues in more detail, but also what sort of cost we would be looking at for each job and the work entailed.

Thanks to the report, we were able to renegotiate the purchase price of the property by several thousand pounds.
