Esen Loft Architecture has completed my restaurant rear extension and premises licensing. They are the best design and build company in north London. Hasan handled all drawings and Council permissions, and Martin completed our building works. The work they provide is high quality. They are averagely price in the construction industry. I will surely use them for my next business, and would highly recommend.

Extremely frustrating. I needed a structural engineer for a simple rectangular, single story extension.

Firstly, the site visit is not performed by the engineer, but someone else (Hasan) who then passes on details to the engineer.

Kemal was the engineer, and unfortunately there were communication issues. He did not provide all of the needed calculations and it was very difficult to get across what was needed. I've counted 44 emails, and my builder even called him to discuss, but had to give up, saying he couldnt get him to understand what was needed.

In addition, the calcs were much slower than promised and I had to chase multiple times. They promised 7-10 days; I received the first drawings after 23 days, and the correct drawings after 41 days!

With all the comms issues and delays, they also tried to charge me an extra £300 to get the correct drawings, which I would not do. I was just about to go through proceedings to get my money back, and to get another engineer out. Luckily I did get the correct drawings in the end, but it was a horrible experience throughout.

I was always polite with them, however given the experience, the comms difficulties, I have decided to write this review to warn others away from going with Esen Loft. I would highly recommend going with another more professional company, where you get to talk to the engineer yourself, who you can easily communicate with.

Finally, I will copy and paste some of the emails from their structural engineer, to give an illustration of the comms received.

Your drawings are ready I am just preparing the calculations and pdf in to an order. Your job is our first and I am not looking to any other job until yours is completed. So until monday probably I will prepare it but please keep in mind that these are important calculations to your safety and I would not like to make anything wrong just to provide it to you on time.
