If you are looking for an insurance provider run by people who couldn't organize a raffle, look no further.
I submitted a completely straightforward claim for a £150 damaged cycling helmet. Receipts attached, photos uploaded, every box ticked on their tedious claims portal. What followed was a total collapse of basic competence.
I received no approval email. I received no financial breakdown. I received no explanation whatsoever. I only realized the claim had been "settled" when I checked my bank balance and found a pathetic £8.50.
When I logged back into the portal to see how their genius claims team managed to turn £150 into £8.50, I was locked out. The moment a claim is paid, access is revoked. Brilliant strategy: hide the math so nobody can challenge the absurd outcome.
Then, in a move of pure, unadulterated stupidity, they sent an automated request asking for my feedback.
So here is your review: you are incompetent, your portal is a bad joke, your communication is non-existent, and your payout is an insult. Keep the £8.50. You clearly need it more than I do.

Realistically priced travel insurance for the older person.
Easy to contact and helpful.
Fortunately not had to claim.
Useful email advice and updates, shall be looking to renew again this year.

With medical conditions Explorer was most reasonable for price two years running. Would recommend getting a quote.

This is a caring and personal travel insurance company that offers a quick and clear process for arranging cover including medical conditions. The cost of cover for my husband and me was very competitively priced.

My policy was quick and easy to set up, and at a great price. My 2nd year with them, I am fortunate to not have any health problems, and I have not had to make a claim, but I believe they are quick to act if you have a problem.

We find the company reasonably priced and easy to contact to discuss requirements. We appreciate the arrangement to insure people travelling together who are not family members and not married. Fortunately we have not needed to make a claim although we have insured with the company several times. We are older travellers and I am over 80.

Went on a cruise for the first time with friends and we had a missed port, we were the only couple that could claim out of us all and got £300 back within a matter of days. Excellent service and extremely well priced.

Although our medical conditions are minor, as an elderly couple we have found travel insurance hard to find at a reasonable price. We have insured with Explorer in the past and, as then, we found Ian's quote was by far the best. We particularly like the helpful and informative website.

The quote was competitive for the level of cover provided. I have never had to claim on the policy so I cannot comment on the efficiency if I made a claim. I hope to continue to be insured with this company and will be whilst they remain competitive price wise.

The personal communication from Ian has made all the difference. Facebook info is good, the emails are knowledgeable and full of practical advice. I can check up to date info before I travel and ask specific details from the Explorer team.
