Take heed with Fischer Homes
I was excited to purchase a new condominium in Fischer Homes, Parkview Community in Milford. My agent was so friendly and took excellent care of me. I moved in December 31st, 2025. Immediately upon move in, I saw issues that needed addressing. I was told to keep a log and put them on the Fischer homes portal, and at my 90 day warranty checkup, it would all be taken care of. Unfortunately, they just don’t tell you how it will be taken care of. So here I am battling for fixes to my cabinets that have marred finishes, carpet that has sunken spots, and pokey hard bumps all over. JP flooring is who put the carpet and LVP down in my condo. I have crooked hung doors pretty much everywhere except my patio door. The trim is mitered crooked and doesn’t meet flush together. My front door and patio door need to be repainted because they have serious runs, and areas that were missing paint. My HVAC unit quit working the week of July 4th. My front sliding closet door was off the track when I moved in, it was missing a piece to keep it from falling off. I have a bedroom window that doesn’t lock because of a warped middle support section. It is supposed to be replaced. My lazy Susan was falling over in the cabinet because it wasn’t screwed in at the top. The water pressure is so low, and the water company says it’s only going to get worse. I have air leaking in at the floor along my outer bedroom wall. All the gutters in the condos overflow and wash our mulch and dirt everywhere when it rains. I was told the gutter spout sizes are too small for the flow rate of our roof line. Fischer knows about it but has not chosen to fix it. My lights in my bedroom and living room turn on by themselves. They also get very bright at times. Some have had electrical fires related to miswiring at hvac boxes. There are issues with concrete deteriorating in some of the patio homes already. They are only 3 years old. The HOA already can’t afford the landscaping needs of the community for the year, so dead trees, shrubs, grass, mulch, etc that need replacing will be on hold. Unless the homeowner wants to do it out of our own pockets. There are hundreds of mosquitoes from the drainage areas in the neighborhood. I could go on some more, but I think you can understand that the details have not been taken care of very well. It’s very frustrating and disheartening when you feel that no one cares after they have your money. And they are building more condos still at the end of our community.
I don’t think it’s too much to ask to have a quality built home. Fischer Homes is not the builder it used to be anymore. The condos look nice from a distance, but fail horribly at the details. Customer service is a balance between lining their own pockets, and trying to appease the sub contractors, and the homebuyers come last. I can’t say I will ever recommend buying from Fischer Homes.
I wanted to share my experience so that buyers know what to expect if they purchase a Fischer Home. It’s unbelievably frustrating, and many others here have similar quality control issues in their condos. So it’s not a one time thing. It’s a continuous happening, and the complaints are just overlooked. Take heed if you buy from Fischer Homes. I would love to be able to say differently if things change, but I don’t see it happening.
