On what grounds are you basing your assumption?

Our business model is clear and publicly stated on our website. Nothing is hidden. We protect foundries and type designers from font licensing infringements. You may not like that, but using protected intellectual property without a valid license is a violation of the law.

Its purpose is to make sure the matter is not ignored and to give the recipient a final opportunity to resolve the situation directly before any further steps are considered.

We also understand the importance of transparency. Evidence and details regarding the font usage can be provided upon request, and our team remains available to clarify the situation and explain the applicable license correction.

However, removing the files after the fact does not resolve the period during which the typefaces were used without the appropriate license. Like other protected works such as photos, music, software, or videos, past unauthorized use still needs to be addressed.

Our approach is not intended to create pressure or impose a penalty. We do not add damages or punitive fees. The amount requested corresponds only to the regular license price based on the actual font usage identified.

The estimated license price can be checked in just a few clicks through the estimation link provided, and we are happy to clarify it upon request.

While automated tools may help identify publicly accessible font files, each situation is manually reviewed by font licensing experts. Our goal is to provide a clear and constructive path to resolve past unlicensed use while respecting the work and rights of type designers.

To clarify, our team does include legal expertise specifically in font licensing, and we review each situation based on the applicable licensing framework. In this case, because no license was purchased at the time of use, there is no past license agreement or older EULA that can be relied on to cover that usage.

Any license correction offered today must therefore be based on the current EULA and the licensing terms currently available. Otherwise, an unlicensed user could retroactively choose whichever older terms were more favorable, which would undermine legitimate changes in pricing, technology, usage models, and licensing structures over time.

Our goal is not to make the process difficult, but to provide a clear and fair path to regularize the situation. We remain available to explain how the current licensing framework applies and to help identify the appropriate correction.

Removing a protected work after the fact does not erase or resolve its past unauthorized use. This applies to all types of intellectual property, including photos, music, videos, software, and typefaces.

Typefaces are the result of long, careful, and highly skilled work by type designers. Using them without the proper license disregards that effort and the rights of the people who created them.

Otherwise, anyone could use unlicensed fonts or other protected assets without permission, then simply remove them only if they are contacted by the rights holder.

Hello. When a verified theme has been purchased, we always give users the choice to either keep using the font by purchasing the appropriate license, or remove the font from the theme.

This is because it was clearly an issue they could not have known about beforehand. Please contact us with your ticket number so I can look into this.
