Great platform, but messaging fees for buyers ruin it
I gives 4 stars because the website generally works very well — it’s clear, easy to use, and it’s great to see who has viewed or searched for your listing. However, even as a seller, I don’t think buyers should have to pay just to send a message. At first, I was surprised why no one was reaching out to me. But later, when I was looking to buy a dog myself, I realised I had to pay £7.99 just to send an inquiry. That completely discouraged me, and I ended up looking elsewhere. As a result, all of my puppies were sold on Pets4Homes and Gumtree, where messaging and video calls are free for buyers. I believe the seller should cover the listing costs since they are the ones making the sale and can factor it into their expenses, rather than forcing a buyer to pay just to ask a question.
It’s also quite misleading that the site is called "Freeads" when it isn't actually free for buyers at all.

Freeads Pets provides safety guidance throughout the rehoming journey, including on pet adverts, within messages and through the welfare information members agree to follow. We strongly advise buyers to visit the puppy in its own home, meet the puppy and its mum, complete appropriate checks and never send money simply on the promise of a pet.
We also provide our PetSafe deposit service as a safer way for members to handle puppy and kitten deposits.
