FTC Sumter SC 5Gbps Service
If I would have selected no stars I could. We installed FTC 5Gbps service a few weeks back. Unfortunately, we will returning to our previous Internet Provider. The reasons are we have never been able to successfully get a download speed greater than 800Mbps. The average download speed has topped out at 450Mbps. A technician came out and tested our connection. On their equipment they said everything was great. The problem according to the technician was the speed test app on a laptop capable of 2.5Gbps was causing the bad numbers. The laptop was connected to a 10Gbps port on the FTC Router using CAT8 patch cable and a 5Gbps ethernet adapter with nothing else connect to the FTC router. That said the upload speed on the laptop topped out at 2.2Gbps. Prior to the switch to FTC 5Gbps service I have never run a speed test where the upload speed was higher than the download speed. See photo. I understand everybody's mileage may vary but why pay for a service that your not getting.
