Some of the "guests" are actually staff
Went to an event, seemed alright, gender balance was more male than female. I (male) got talking to some people, got a couple of contacts. It turns out all the attractive ones are paid to be there and to string you along. The one I spoke to acted all interested and then later tried to get me along to other events, that's when I started to suspect. I questioned a bit and got a response from management.
Be careful out there, this is definitely at least in part, a racket.
As I've read quite a few experiences…
As I've read quite a few experiences with people here and spoke to quite quite a few people during the events reflecting our experiences, it seems a constant wave of disappointment and the greed to sell as many events to overcrowded, loud venues with drastically skewed ratios is Thursday's priority - no surprise here. I was however, surprised that by giving a chance to a running event on Saturday a host would just simply not show up, so we randomly found a few people from our group and went for a social jog ourselves. When we came back over an hour later, nobody was there still and not one staff member of the venue heard of anything or from anyone related to Thursdays. I contacted them after the event about this and so far it's been 2 weeks with no reply, despite 2 of my follow ups. Past experiences with the events I'd consider pretty weak also for the reasons I mentioned before and the fact that most people - women in particular - don't really seem to go there to meet anyone or are capable of holding a conversation for longer than 20 seconds.
Overall uncomfortable experiences and a specific, club-like crowd flocking to the events - I only wish I was a bit smarter before I tried a few of their events and put my money/energy into something better.
Bear in mind, that's my experience and a number of other people I spoke to about this in London, so if your country/area is better, I envy you and happy it somehow worked out in your case :)
No refund for sick attendee, no exceptions
Bought a ticket to their Wellington event, got sick and couldn't attend. I contacted them before the event to ask for a refund. They refused, citing their non-refundable policy, with no exception for illness. NZ$22 isn't a lot to a company but it's not nothing to someone who's sick and sitting out a cost of living crisis. If you're buying tickets, know that there's zero flexibility if something goes wrong on your end.
BEWARE - misleading
BEWARE: After attending a recent event, I've come to the conclusion that Thursday is a total scam and money grabbing - the company doesn’t care at all!
I booked for a singles dinner. First of all, there was no host welcoming everyone, playing ice breaker game or keeping the chat flowing or maybe introducing people.
The ratio was 3 men to 11 women so not balanced even though the website claimed it would be 50/50 split. A few people hadn’t turned up - the table was booked for 20 people. All they had done was literally booked a table in a Resturant and charged people £15 per head for a seat. There was no drink included, seems a-lot to pay if you consider Thursdays are making £300 for literally booking a table in a restaurant. No thought put into the event at all. No name tags or place name cards. We were left to our own devices which made us all think what are we actually paying for?
Horrible
Horrible, singles even with groups? And SEATS?
The whole point is people to mingle and meet ppl. Not just sit there. Why am I paying you then>?
Went to an event in Melbourne
Went to an event in Melbourne, Aus. Learnt once I arrived that they had no one there hosting/running the event and it was only the staff at the venue. Found the event quite lacklusture personally as they did not have anyone there to break the ice or do anything, the majority of people were left to their own devices. Ratio of attendants was also not balanced at all (despite being advertised as such) and the majority of attendents seemed standoffish.
Huge gender imbalance 80% guys
Went to their event for the first time yesterday. Huge amount of gender imbalance. 80% were guys. Most of the guys there noticed it as well, they all packed up and left, so did I. The organisers need to do a better job at balancing the gender, other what’s the point. Only interested in our money.
They cancel events if not enough people…
They cancel events if not enough people turn up
They dont let you know (so you show up anyway)
And then there is no way to get a refund!
I will never trust this site and I recommend that nobody else does either
Horrible, will not go again
It was a horrific event due to gender imbalance - way more men than women. Organiser of a dating event should be able to take care of that.
F@#£ GET THURSDAYS
I come to buy a ticket after 8 and they said sold out.
2 girls show up while im there without tickets and they let them in.
I say wtf, host w british accent says "theyre friends of mine. Already counted them" (whatever that means).
BULLSHIT. DISCRIMINATORY AND ILLEGAL.
Ill contact fatsoma and leave reviews on trust pilot google and facebook.

Extremely isolating and people who show…
Extremely isolating and people who show up with friends and in herds don't even make you feel welcome. Whether it's London, New York or Sydney, it's the same boring, loud and horrible type of unfriendly blokes who don't talk. What's the point of paying so much on this event when the whole point is to meet new people. Pitch your mate is nonsense.. if you are showing up alone, there's no way to pitch for you. It sucks. Men missing out on potential opportunities.
The same weird unattractive people show…
The same weird unattractive people show up every week and Thursdays just takes your money in exchange for nothing. I went to a christmas orientated event and there was no host to bring people together and no designated meeting point so I met no one. They just took my money. Then at the next attempt it was a very expensive new years eve bar event that was meant to include 2 plates of food for the price. They lied because the venue said I had to pay for my food myself and would not accept my vouchers because it was past the time they were accepting the vouchers Thursdays Dating said were included in the price. The kitchen was still open, but Thuradays Dating did not tell me there was a deadline time in the evening by which I had to use the vouchers or else end up having to pay in addition. Another event was a cinema evening and no one even spoke to anyone else. We just watched the film, nothing else out of it. They were just trying to sell the sofas we were sitting on to watch the film off the back of the dating event. Zero stars, find a date some other way.
Abysmal
BEWARE: After attending a recent event, I've come to the conclusion that Thursday is a total scam.
First of all, there was no host. Not only did this mean that nobody made introductions, broke the ice, etc; it meant it wasn't even clear which part of the bar was "our" section.
In fact, there was nothing to indicate that a Thursday event was taking place at all - apart from a few lost-looking people like myself. There were no name tags and no designated area, which meant that on at least one occasion I went up and introduced myself to someone who wasn't attending a Thursday event at all (which didn't go down well with her boyfriend). Of course, the fee didn't include a free drink, either.
In conclusion, I'm struggling to understand what I paid for. Literally all they did was advertise a time and place for people to meet. I could have done that in a 2-line Facebook post.
I wrote to complain and ask for a refund, and more than two weeks later, they had not responded.
Last-minute venue change, no notification
The event was advertised at The Alchemist, Spinningfields, but was last-minute moved to the New York Street branch due to low attendance — and no one informed attendees.
I arrived at the original venue at 7:30pm and only found out after nearly an hour that the event had been moved. I then travelled to the second venue, arriving at 8:45pm, to find around 10 people left and some already leaving. I effectively missed the event.
I’ve emailed requesting a refund due to the venue change and lack of notification, but received no response. Poor organisation and communication. Would not recommend.
Terrible organisation, they even gave up after 30min
I was at a single-only Padel Tournament | Padel Powers in Prague, Czechia
This was supposed to be a dating padel tournament, where they matched and changed couples randomly to maximize meeting everyone.
This was terribly organized, we had to wait 15min in the freezing cold because they screw-up the court booking, and the booking overlapped with other bookings.
After that we started playing for like 20min.
After these 20min, for some untold reason, they gave up everything, and decided that there is no formal organisation, and everyone does whatever they want.
This was very unprofessional, and defeats the whole purpose of the event.
EDIT: added one star because they refund me
Complaint against
Complaint against: Thursday Dating (Honeypot Dating Ltd) and Fatsoma Ltd
Summary of facts:
On September 20, 2025, I purchased a ticket for the Cannonball Singles Sunset Social through the Thursday app, which was processed by Fatsoma. The app’s checkout flow was broken, redirected incorrectly, and failed to confirm properly. After I raised legitimate complaints about the misleading and dysfunctional ticketing process, Thursday revoked my access to the event and claimed I was “not the right fit.” I was effectively banned from attending an event I paid for solely because I complained.
Fatsoma, as the ticketing processor and platform, failed to investigate my report, failed to intervene, and allowed the event organizer’s retaliation to stand. Their inaction makes them complicit in the organizer’s discriminatory and retaliatory behavior.
Allegations:
• Retaliation against a paying customer for raising a consumer complaint.
• Discrimination or exclusion without clear criteria.
• Deceptive and unfair business practices in ticketing and post-sale handling.
• Fatsoma’s complicity through refusal to investigate or remediate.
Legal basis:
Violations of California’s Unfair Competition Law (Bus. & Prof. Code §17200) and Consumers Legal Remedies Act (Civ. Code §1770) for deceptive and unfair practices.
Requested remedies:
1. A formal investigation into both Thursday Dating and Fatsoma.
2. An order requiring Fatsoma to preserve all related records, communications, and transaction data.
3. A written explanation from Fatsoma describing why the complaint was ignored and what corrective action will be taken.
4. Acknowledgment of this complaint and confirmation that a case has been opened within 24 hours of receipt.
Utter scam
Utter scam, they sell tickets with a fee, then cancel the event and pocket the fee without a chance for a refund.
I accidentally bought the a general male ticket (I'm female), requested refund and being ignored
Order (#B569A46F588B):
I accidentally bought the a general admission ticket (only ones left), thinking it was a female ticket (early bird and general admission female tickets sold out). I didnt want to risk turning up only to be told when I show my ID that its an entry ticket only for males and told I can't come in. So I mentioned this predicament in an email (i sent three emails to Thursday) and said that I wanted a refund on my essentially void ticket (not valid for a female like me). I havent heard back and the event has now passed and they have my money. They also cant come back and say I would have been let in now the event has happened (i contacted them prior to the event) as without knowing this, traveling to the event and risking being turned away isnt a risk I wanted to take. Now I have sent three emails, I actually feel ignored. I do actually want to go to another thursday event, but at this rate whilst being ignored - I wouldnt go and wouldnt recommend this company! Lack of customer service, but hoping they might redeem themselves. Ignoring isnt going to make this issue go away.
They don't care, just money grabbbers
They don't care about making customers, terrible men/women ratio, Leeds organiser literally does nothing!!! They don't care once they have your money.
