Great experience in the shop - namely from a member of staff named Lewis (Exeter branch). Could not have been more helpful if he tried. Went above and beyond to help us find suitable footwear for upcoming trip. Very helpful and knowledgeable.

I had such a lovely experience buying my backpack for travelling today! Harry helped me make sure I got the right backpack for my trip, made sure it fitted me properly and was so knowledgeable and friendly. He gave me advice for my travels that went beyond just a backpack. I couldnt thank him enough, he deserves much praise!! Thank you☺️

We visited GO Outdoors Exeter today and received absolutely fantastic service from Sam.

Sam was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and patient, taking the time to explain everything clearly and answer all our questions. Nothing was too much trouble, and we never felt rushed or pressured into making a decision.

We visited GO Outdoors today looking for a complete tent setup, and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
Sam was exceptional from start to finish. He was incredibly kind, approachable and patient, and his knowledge was genuinely impressive. Rather than simply pointing us towards products, he took the time to understand exactly what we needed, talked us through our options and made sure we were getting the right equipment for us.
Buying a tent can feel quite overwhelming when you’re trying to work out what you actually need, but Sam made the whole process easy, stress-free and actually enjoyable. He clearly knows his stuff and was more than happy to answer every question we had without ever making us feel like we were being a nuisance.
What really stood out was how genuinely helpful and personable he was. You could tell he actually cared about us having the right setup rather than just making a sale.
Sam is an absolute credit to GO Outdoors and exactly the kind of sales assistant every customer hopes to come across. His customer service was second to none, and he deserves to be recognised for it.
If there’s an employee recognition scheme or a manager reading this — please make sure Sam gets to see this review! He went above and beyond and made a huge difference to our shopping experience.

Thank you Josh for your help choosing a fishing umbrella. Despite being busy, you took the time to go through the options.

Of 4 items showing as in stock on website, only 1 was actually in stock.
....but there were other more expensive options.
Then got overcharged by £6 at checkout. Queried price and a hurried checkout operator told me it was correct. It wasn't.
Go Outdoors need to seriously improve stock management, stock display, pricing display etc.
Poor management.

Staff at Exeter super helpful even when the store was extremely busy! Store had everything we needed for our camping trip. Great quality and competitively priced, some even on sale. Also worth taking out the membership

Alfred was very helpful and informative in helping my son choose hiking gear for a big trip to Morocco. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything very well.

Great customer service in the shoe department. I was served by Lewis who was very patient, helpful and professional. I tried on loads of different styles and sizes before finding the perfect pair. I really appreciate being able to shop for trainers in person much easier than on line.

Having navigated around some blocked isles I was looking in the fishing department when I young man asked if I needed any help. I asked him a question about some fishing items and he said ' I'm sorry this isn't my department... '(as I was waiting for the usual response in other outlets he said ' if you wouldn't mind waiting a bit I'll find someone who can help ' he was back in 5mins and had the answer to my question. Being wheelchair bound I'm used to people ignoring me and avoiding me, this young man ALFRED did all he could to help, it's refreshing to see young people not afraid to ask if someone in a wheelchair needs any help or avoid them the most important part of this interaction was Alfred kept eye contact with me, what a change it is to feel normal and part of society.
Alfred kept it up young man and you will go far, thank you from the bottom of my heart. 🫡⚓
