I brought 2 harnesses and they both were canceled, then bought another one a week later and they were canceled and was charged for postage twice overall really poor experience

Visited Monks Cross Go Outdoors today and was looking for a specific pull on hooded base layer. After searching for sometime I was approached by a lady called Katie who spent time helping me find the garment I was looking for. The customer service was excellent, and hard to find in this day and age.

Having ordered my first pair of Leki walking poles ,I asked Katie for instructions in both assembling and walking with the poles . As with all sports , correct use of equipment is a safety aspect .
I am extremely grateful to her for spending the time I felt necessary in order to get the most from pole walking on both flat and very steep surfaces .

A great range of products, would be even better if you stocked Patagonia.
Delphi was very polite and professional.

Always a good experience when visiting the store.

Popped in to buy a thermos using cash. Label said £12 but had some small print on it. Got to cashier only to be told it was £24 unless I 'signed up'. As I am not willing to give up my data I put the item back on the shelf and walked out. Plenty of other places to buy this item without me paying for them not to have my data. Customer lost.

Wanted some Brasher shorts and had phoned the day before and was advised York store had them in stock.
Visited the store Monday 10th March and had a massive shock as to how big the store is. It had completely taken over the old John Lewis store both floors.
We were met by Steve who was lovely to talk to and eager to help.
After checking the colour and size he said the size wasn't available in the store but could be purchased on line and deliver to my home or store at no extra cost.
I agreed to do this and get them sent to store as we were going away at the weekend and thought it safer as the store would hold them for us.
Bethany was very helpful in placing the order and also membership of GoOutdoors.

The order was delivered on Thursday 13th March so went and collected them.

It has been a great store to visit with very knowledgable and helpful staff. Well done

I was returning a pair of walking boots - bought from Go Outdoors July 2024 - which had started to crack/flake on the outer surfaces. I was dealt with by Owen who was very helpful and with out any argument offered me and exchange or refund. I opted for an exchange and was given a new pair of the same make and model boots. Many thanks to Owen and staff at GO Outdoors, York.

We were wisiting the area from Bristol, and wandered into this immense Go Outdoors store in York.
We were not members, but there were so many really good quality bargains to be had, we checked with the cashier and joined there and then at checkout.
Special thanks to Evie, who joined us up, and took the time to point that as we are caravanners, and members of the CAMC, we also got 10% off our caravan purchases. We were able to evidence membership. Brilliant visit. Shame the one in Bristol is not as big!!

Boxing Day morning, 9:15am, we asked Susan for guidance on helping to choose a ladies down-filled jacket, boy oh boy, did Susan know her onions! From filling type, to performance specs, waterproofness versus shower-resistant, she had all of the knowledge right there to share with us. In addition to giving us helpful pointers on various locations to visit whilst touring the area, she also made suggestions on where to stay. Probably the most helpful store assistant we have had the pleasure of bumping into for a very long time!

If all store assistants were like Susan, you'd never want to shop online again!

Sue’s customer service is the only reason this review is not a 1 star! I tried to come in store and find a thick puffer jacket…they were nearly non-existent in sizes above 16. I was disappointed and was looking for information. Sue came and helped find a suitable jacket for me and showed compassion and understanding of the lack of plus size options available.

This store has a lot of choice, so it was really useful to get some advice from Sue who really knows her stuff. I was looking for a very warm jacket and she explained differences between down filled and synthetic and also options of waterproof jackets.
She also made a good suggestion for my husband’s Xmas present, that I wouldn’t have spotted left to my own devices.
I should also mention I was also helped my another helpful assistant ( not sure of her name but v friendly)

I was looking forward to buying a pair of warm trousers for the winter and have difficulty finding trousers in my size. I definitely needed to try them on but there seemed to be only one changing area open and just four cubicles. I waited nearly twenty minutes for a cubicle to become available ....no staff around, no where to sit down and customers taking unlimited numbers of merchandise into the cubicles. I did share my concerns at the checkout but was told they couldn't comment.
I can't fault the garment I bought or the price I paid but just wish the experience had been a little easier for me. Disappointed pensioner

Just been for some camping stuff …… quite technical specifications …. sleeping bags, mats etc.
Josh was brilliant, really knowledgeable and so helpful.

Most helpful Staff Ruva and Izzy! I noticed the reat difference in price on the 'Membership' label, and asked the first GO Outdoors Staff I saw. Izzy welcomed me with her smile (even though I was disturbing her conversations with someone else). And answered me directly. I immediately went, picked up my selected coat, and took to Ruva's check-out counter. Ruva could not have been more helpful in her information and swift care of me. So- in 20 minutes- I as in and out of Vangarde's 'Go Outdoors', with my selected coat, 'G. O.' Membership and saving £91.00! Wonderful! Thank you!! Shelagh

Elin served me today and was very helpful and patient in renewing my membership, I will be using the store in future for all my angling and outdoor equipment. Many thanks.

Clueless staff, crap layout, horrid muzak, boring run-of-the-mill stock, what a waste of time. Avoid like the plague.

Please, if you are attracted to the new Go Outdoors shop in Monk Cross and their equestrian section, do not! The girls working on the floor will entice you to buy expensive gear without explaining their return policy - awful customer experience after spending hundreds of pounds
