Thoroughly recommend HPHB to anyone having a baby!
The course was brilliant - the classes were very informative and helpful, and the online material is very in depth and covers a lot of additional things the class didn’t have time for. Our course leader Lauren was brilliant, super helpful, inclusive and friendly. Overall the course made us feel a lot more positive and relaxed about the birth, and dealing with actually having a baby!
Is been very helpful for a first time mum
Is been very helpful for a first time mum like me that wants to feel fully prepared before my baby girl comes. Every topic that we’ve gone through in every class has made me more comfortable and ready to be best I can.
On top of that, is been a great opportunity to meet lovely people that are on the same situation as you and is lovely to share experiences and potentially find new mum friends. Definitely recommend it! Thank you
Strongly recommend
Strongly recommend. Amazing learning and networking sessions.
HPHB was fantastic!
HPHB was fantastic. Our facilitator Jess was so patient and informative for our group. The mix of sessions is great, and as a first time dad, there were so many tiny tips I took away that I now use every day. Thank you, Happy Parents Happy Baby!!!
So happy we chose the HPHB course!
My partner and I loved being part of the course and feel prepared for becoming parents in the next few months. Being in a pub made it feel super relaxed and forming friendships didn’t feel forced. The educational in person sessions were run by an experienced midwife who was so approachable, if she wasn’t able to answer a question she would follow it up after finding out for us! The practical sessions were informative and helped having an opportunity to try out what we had learnt. The online Q&A sessions are dead helpful and great you can access them for 6 months after too to refer back! We are so glad we chose this company and look forward to the future with our new friends and brand new babies!
A positive
A positive, holistic, boosting approach to maternity and paternity. Sophie went above and beyond with information and super helpful and empathetic towards any question 10/10
Informative and empowering.
We loved our Happy Parents Happy Baby course! We found the information shared to be very informative of risks and benefits, but also open minded and modern. I feel empowered to choose my own birth preferences now, and my partner has been introduced to ways of supporting me that he had not thought of. As new parents-to-be, that had no prior experience of looking after a baby, it was really great to get hands-on practice in the baby care and first aid in-person sessions too!
Brilliant
Brilliant, balanced, informative antenatal class - delivered by a local midwife
Just book it
I’m really glad we chose HPHB for our ante natal classes. It was very important to us that the sessions were midwife led. Certain topics surrounding birth and babies are polarising (such as pain relief and dummies etc). All the information was presented in a balanced way and always grounded in research and empirical evidence. I would not hesitate to recommend.
A great antenatal course
A great antenatal course - very clear and practical explanations about a range of topics, a knowledgeable course leader and a lovely opportunity to meet other local parents to be
From anxious to capable - absolutely invaluable antenatal classes.
We went into these HPHB classes feeling completely out of our depth and left feeling like a capable team of to-be parents. The medical expertise shared by the HPHB instructors gave us genuine peace of mind, but it was the warm, judgment-free environment that made all the difference. We are incredibly grateful for the practical confidence and the wonderful community of local parents it gave us. Highly recommend to anyone preparing for the wild journey of having a kid!

Trusted advice from professionals while the opportunity to meet other parents to be in the area. Well structured and useful information which improved my confidence
Brilliant course
We loved our Happy Parents, Happy Baby course. We had a fantastic host Siobhan, who works as a midwife and was brilliant at leading the sessions and answering questions. The online portal is brilliant as you can watch videos before the session which makes helps prevent the session information become overwhelming. Live Q&A sessions were also really helpful. The addition of hypnobirthing and first aid really makes this company stand out. The choice of venues are local and comfortable with regular dates running to fit in with your pregnancy. We would strongly recommend this company.
Happy Parents Happy Baby was…
Happy Parents Happy Baby was informative, engaging and really well presented from the very start. The session immediately captured our attention and created a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The information shared was clear, practical and reassuring, with lots of useful advice delivered in an approachable way. It felt thoughtfully organised throughout and struck a great balance between professionalism and relatability.
A special shoutout to Nay, the course leader, who was fantastic throughout — knowledgeable, approachable and genuinely engaging. She made everyone feel comfortable, encouraged questions and delivered everything in such a calm and supportive way. We came away feeling far more confident, informed and reassured. Highly recommended for expectant and new parents.
Would recommend
We really enjoyed our happy parents happy baby classes. We had a few different choices of classes around our local area but what sold it for us was the range of topics covered throughout the sessions but also the additional follow up online sessions. This felt like you were getting more as these online webinars were people across the country so you were exposed to further questions that may not have been asked in your own classes. The access to the online portal also means we can access these and the video content in our own time at a later date as well. The midwife who led our sessions, Natalie, was great and it felt reassuring to be taught by someone who works in this sector every day.
5* Antenatal Class
My husband and I had a really informative time in the sessions and it was a great balance of information and practical . The midwife was super friendly and helpful. It was a great way to make some parent connections too. I highly recommend the course to any new parents out there !
Poor value for money
It's been a few weeks now since completing our course and on reflection, it really didn't teach me anything. All the information given is very top level, there's a lack of time or space for any in-depth reflections or space to share difficulties around childbirth/pregnancy. But my biggest gripe was that there were 28 of us in the class. We wanted to meet parents going through what we are going through, but the class sizes are so big that the chances of making any sort of meaningful connection was null. It also limited our time available to ask questions of the midwife running the session. They didn't facilitate discussion amongst parents at all, in fact they blocked this a lot of the time. If the classes had been smaller (i.e., HPHB had been a little less greedy) we may have found value in it.
All in all really bad value for money. I feel I have paid £300 to join a WhatsApp group which, so far, hasn't been even remotely worth it.
EDIT: Obviously Ellie Thirst is not my real name. Who would use their real name for online reviews?!
If you are genuinely interested in talking about my experience please do respond to the feedback that I left on your post-course survey. I left my email address for you to reach out.

Good but not essential
It's been a few weeks since completing the course and overall on reflection, it's a good crash course but not essential. A lot of the information is fairly standard and I already knew from general research. My male partner definitely found it informative and had learnt quite a lot, so think the content was much better suited for him than me.
Unfortunately we didn't 'click' with anyone in our group in the way we expected but everyone was perfectly nice. I found we were the only interracial British/London born couple in our early 30s whereas the rest of the group were older (35+) and European, this meant a lot of questions from the group were about the NHS service. I was initially surprised by the lack of ethnic diversity in the group, especially being based in South London. This isn't a problem but important to highlight, esp if you expect space to discuss some of the concerns raised by non white women in maternity services. This didn't stop me from asking some questions I had but I did feel my questions were not benefitting the wider group so held back a little.
As I approach birth and postpartum, it does generally surprise me how little knowledge sharing there is for women in the fourth trimester, especially when it comes to feeding. Given the common challenges with feeding, I would have appreciated a dedicated in person session on it.
If you have c£300 spare, maybe the first person in your friendship group to have a child, feeling anxious and/or would like a way to learn and connect with your partner on the pregnancy journey, then I would recommend. Otherwise, I personally would invest the same money in a dedicated hypnobirthing course, lactation consultant/course or maybe just post partum care e.g., nutritious food delivery.
I do appreciate the effort that has gone into developing and delivering the course -- thank you.
More transparency needed
Don’t leave a review until after you have had your baby, and then you’ll see the failures in transparency from Happy Parents, Happy Baby. They spend far too much time teaching you the obvious (how to change a nappy, how to make a bottle) and leave no time for open and honest discussions on the realities of childbirth, what can go wrong and, how hard it really is when you bring your baby home. The amount of positivity they force on to the classes drowns out any attempt to discuss the harsh realities, which actually leaves you significantly underprepared. Over 50% of our class ended up needing emergency c-sections, leaving some now dealing with what they have described as traumatic births with no tools to help them cope. I’d suggest reading the reviews from people who have had their babies, as I would have given 5 stars too, before realising how little they actually prepare you for
Amazing Antenatal Classes
The support and information provided by all the staff was phenomenal through all of the weeks. Bridie was especially amazing. She already brought such energy and made the session interesting, even through some of the more serious conversations. Really enjoyed that the sessions were a couple of hours for multiple weeks as it wasn’t information overload and allowed for real relationships to be developed between the parents to be! Would recommend to everyone!
