Brilliant people and great customer services.

Received my second jacket from Hemingway this year and am delighted with the quality and fit. Great personal service from Toby. Highly recommended!

My daughter was getting married and I needed a suit for the occasion. I’m not the sort of person who can just go and get a suit off the peg, being morbidly obese, and so wasn’t looking forward to the experience. Toby immediately put me at ease and created a suit for me that I will be proud to wear at my daughters wedding. Toby doesn’t just create suits but gives you advice on every aspect of the suit from the colour of the buttons and the linings that will look good, to the buttonhole for the wedding flower.
I also asked Toby to make me a shirt for the wedding. Again Toby provided his experience in giving advice on colour and shape that would best suit me.
Toby is ably backed up by Joanne in handling the company admin.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Toby’s company to anyone. Excellent service, advice and end product.

I had admired the suits my friend wore for years. I asked him where he had his suits made & he informed me that Toby Luper of Hemingway Taylor’s had always made all his suits. Despite me living in Liverpool I decided to make the journey over to Leeds to have a suit made by Toby.
I am thrilled not only with the quality but the style & most importantly the perfect fit.
I was delighted also with so many of the extras Toby incorporates in the suit such as as a glasses pocket which is lined so the lens don’t scratch, the button side panels on the trousers which are perfect if like me your weight fluctuates to name just a few. On my first visit I was measured & chose my material from his extensive range of cloths & wide assortment of lining materials. I could not believe that on my next visit my suit was finished and a perfect fit.
I can not praise this whole experience of having a suit made to measure by Tony Luper at Hemingway enough. I was especially pleased with the fit of the trousers so I had another 2 pairs made by him. In my opinion Toby Luper at Hemingway Taylor’s is Leeds hidden Gem & I can not recommend him highly enough.

Looking through the material swatches is not always easy but Toby knows exactly my shirt material style and material weight and made recommendations which I agreed with.

I recently had a suit made at Hemingways for my nephews wedding. I cannot thank them enough for what they did in such short time. I had my first fitting at the beginning of April and collected the suit on 7th May. Nothing was too much trouble and on both occasions I met with Toby on a Saturday morning which wasn’t his working day. I would recommend them and will be using them again to make a jacket for another wedding.

Toby just understands what I need, often before I do!
The experience is enjoyable, informative and engages you in the process of designing your clothes.

From the welcome at the door to the hospitality and the total professionalism of the whole operation it is simply an experience to behold of world class service. The finished product is exactly as Toby said and he takes you through the entire process with every option explained and ultimately agreed upon. He is in every sense a superb operator and a master of his trade.

For the first time in my life I have purchase a bespoke made to measure suit. The personal service, experience, and attention to detail gave me great confidence from the choice of cloth to the inside leg measurement and I was amazed that when I was called in for the first fitting, all I can say is WOW. The suit fitted first time. I went home as pleased as punch.
Three new shirts were also purchased from stock and the quality is great.
I can now see the benefit of wearing a suit measured for me. It is so lightweight and comfortable.

To date.....I have had a couple of beautiful items from Hemingway's - a trouser suit and a Chanel fabric jacket. Both are quite stunning !!!

I invited Toby to design me a Navy Peacoat. I had dreamed of owning a bespoke item of clothing and had the opportunity to act on this. The fitting and finishing were immaculate and the compliments I have received have been off the charts. What you get in a bespoke item is, form, fit and comfort. Sooo pleased I have this beautiful coat

I have purchased a fabulous suit and a specially designed pair of trousers from Toby, this of course is what you would expect from a purveyor of Toby's status. What I didn't expect was the suit that he made for my wife, it is outstanding and the fit just tells the world it is a special one-off suit, he then made her a blazer style jacket from some material he had, to say people stop her and ask about it and where she bought it is not an exaggeration.

At an advanced age, this is the first time that I had had made-to-measure clothing since the 1960s and 1970s and in the case of shirts, the 1980s. I needed a specific item, a jacket and in addition a very specific shirt.
The South Leeds Tailoring venue was easy to reach from the motorways and the venue welcoming and reassuring. The service was exemplary and I was given precisely what I had requested. I was and remain delighted and am planning further shirts at the least.

Great Silk pocket handkerchiefs; nicely made, with lovely patterns and colours. They were delivered quickly when I said I needed them for a trip. Really helpful and efficient.
