Nie wieder Hermes Yachting! Kann als Skipper mit über 40 Jahren Chartererfahrung nur warnen und mich den negativen Berichten anschließen.
Abzocke: 80,-€ early check in. Boot nicht in übernahmefähigem Zustand. Bilge voll Wasser, Sanitärräume stinkend, Abwasserschale schwarz verdreckt, Klodeckel gelb, bewegliches Gut schwergängig ungepflegt, bei Übergabe Schäkel vom Groß abgeflogen, Ankerwinsch mit Wackelkontackt, Schramme an Backboard, Bemängelung führte zu verspätetem Auschecken nach 4 Std unter beleidigenden Äüsserungen des "Einweisers" Auch hier: App zur Selbstüberprüfung des Schiffes. Seekarten der Zahl nach vollständig, jedoch einige Karten doppelt, Hauptsegelgebiet fehlend, Plotter in Billigversion mit groben Küstenlinien, ohne Angaben von Untiefen. Hatten eigene e-Karten dabei, sonst währe eine Grundberührung bei dem Kartenmaterial unvermeidlich gewesen. Küchengeschirr verrostet, Kühlschrank verpilzt und stinkend.
Wurden um frühere Rückgabe gebeten, Wartezeit ca 3 Std, bei Übergabe als Personen des 3.Reichs beschimpft worden, weil wir die Mängel nicht akzeptieren wollten. Gut dass alle Mängel von uns seit Anbeginn der Fahrt (Schrammen etc.) fotografisch dokumentiert worden waren. Kaution nach 2 Wochen nur unter Androhung von juristischen Mitteln wiederbekommen.
Derartiges ist mir noch nie, auch in Griechenland, passiert!
Top charter company in Greece
I have sailed in Greece 7 times and this was by far the smoothest experience with a charter company. The staff are extremely professional during the check-in process and the whole process is managed effectively with software.
During the trip they were always available to support us and when we had a slight issue with the boat they sent us a replacement part the next day in the island we were.
Impeccable service from a top team!!
Highly recommended and we would definitely sail with them again!

Amazing company and crew! We rented the boat Bellatrix for a week and it was one of the most unique experiences! Both of our kids enjoyed the trip and the team guided us through the whole process! Definitely recommended!!!!!!

Vor diesem Vercharterer kann man nur warnen. Ähnlich wie in der Bewertung anderer Hermeskunden war auch bei uns die Abnahme der Yacht nach dem Törn ausgesprochen unfreundlich und betrügerisch. Wir sollen Schäden am Schiff verursacht haben, für die wir definitiv nicht verantwortlich waren und die wir bei der Übernahme auch nicht erkennen konnten. Zum Beispiel war der Außenbordmotor defekt. Dies haben wir erst bei der ersten Dinghyfahrt bemerkt, da im Ausgangshafen keine Kontrollmöglichkeit bestand. Auch wurde uns ein Schaden am Ruder berechnet, obwohl wir keinerlei Grundberührung hatten. Insgesamt wurden uns Schäden in Höhe von 1250 € berechnet. Mit Wohlwollen hätten wir allenfalls 110 € akzeptiert. Es hätte ein schöner Törn mit einer wirklich schönen Yacht sein können, aber das betrügerische Gebaren von Hermes ist höchst ärgerlich.
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE
Boat showing age- bathroom handles broke/needed repairs, light in bathroom broke, tender (dingy) 1/2 nearly deflated discovered during 1st time use, hot water useable only in 1 tank (found out the hard way), no assistance offered from company when asked queries-left on our own, poor support, onboard gas grille totally not functional, journey started with used gas tanks which we needed to replace, sails stuck making sailing difficult, and worst of all, got stranded in open water due to engine failure! After asking company for help and their advising sailing was safe, it was NOT. Took 7 hours once towed into port for company local mechanic to work in the engine. Company threatened to sue us if we did not return unsafe sailboat back into original marina!!!!
Few more:
Wifi plan we purchased did not work.
With pending storm and seeking guidance as to where to go and indicated to Hermes that Santorini Marina advised that boat could not go into Marina since it is too shallow - Hermes still advised going there! Hermes Did not know the Marina details and their boats specs.
Boat motor cooling system failed and alarm went off- Hermes expert advised to press the alarm button, disengage alarm and continue motoring.
Given problem with engine and we deciding to take shelter in first safe harbor - Hermes advised to not do that - rather go to a further island two hours away! Towards the later afternoon.
going from one island to the next the smoke started from the engine - disengaged engine and could not sail due to no wind. - called Hermes technical help - took over an hour for someone to return our call/message. Rather than sending a tow boat - they required the captain to trouble shoot for at least a couple of hours before Hermes decided to send a fishing boat to tow us to the next nearest island.
Hermes advised not to report/call the coast guard for help / rather - they asked if the coast guard asked us for details to refer them to Hermes technical expert - why? What have we to hide? Why divert from maritime protocols? What does Hermes wish to hide? Or not disclose to Coast Guard?
When docked- waited three hours for mechanics for possible repair. Took 3 mechanics over 3 hours to repair. And then needed to wait at least 12 hours for the repair work to be finalizef (could not sail until following day).
Crew had no confidence that repair would work and that we would be stranded on way back to Olympic Marina (a 55 mile journey). Captain was forced to return the boat under threat of prosecution!!!
Terrible experience
We chartered the sailboat - Vanilla Sky and encountered the following problems:Boat showing age-bathroom handles broke/needed repairs, light in tha bathroom broke, tender (dingy) 1 side nearly deflated discovered 1st time using, hot water tank only available in 1 tank (discovered after running out), onboard gas grille no functional, initial sail without complete gas tanks, paid for wi-fi (critical for some on board) and did not function (was reimbursed at the end of the sail but too late) - WORST of ALL - boat stranded after engine failure! Contacted the company whilst sailing with engine signaling distress- were told to keep using as it was probably a faulty fuse!!!! It was not, needed to be towed into a port waisting a full day of sail and left unsafe in open waters. Local mechanic finally meeting repairing engine ("it should be ok to sail") but not 100% guarantee the repair is effective. None of the crew felt safe to continue to sail with a faulty engine but were advised we would be sued if we did not return the Vanilla Sky to orginal port. We never recommend Hermes sailing (there are better companies to rent from) nor renting Vaniall Sky (which we saw has been rented out immediately after return to port by us).
Very friendly and professional service
I'm a very loyal customer if this company. We rented boats there twice: once in Ionian in 2021 and second time from Lavrion in August 2023.
The company has a wide fleet of Hanse boats. I like it very much for comfort and friendly operation.
Both times we received very fast and very professional services during check in and check out. Very good assistance before your trip, during the trip and after.
Early check in is highly recommended. You will be able to get out from port as early as 2pm.

the frame they tried to apply to us is the following: initially the rudder was repaired properly in the shipyard. Then it was damaged again at a corner, before we took the boat. They "repaired" it underwater with superglue, which did not resist, of course, it was an improper work / repair, and they gaved the boat to us like this. I did not check underwater when we took the boat, and then, when we saw it we did not have underwater equipment to take pictures. When returning, the diver blamed us for that corner of the rudder, although he knew very well the superglue he applied did not resist. In fact, they provided the boat to us WITHOUT a square centimeter of rudder, which was replaced by his superglue. I told them that (i) I did not even touch the boat and (ii) I will not support the superglue and/or an improvised "repair". Our entire crew could discover their behaviour, which is in fact a pattern described in their reviews: they prefere damaged boats to make heavy tips/bribes than a boat returned in perfect condition. Their focus is to squeeze the customers and repair the boats on the insurance money, instead of preserving the boats and not receive tips and bribes.
Hat alles gut geklappt! Bellatrix ist prima!
Vielen Dank an Tim und Vaggelis Trahiotis von SSA bzw. Hermes Charter. Wir waren mit der Bellatrix Charter vom 1.-8. Oktober sehr zufrieden. Ich charter jedes Jahr eine Yacht für einen Törn von 1-2 Wochen und bin angenehm von Hermes Charter überrascht. Leider hatten wir in der Woche viel Wind und einige Tage mit mehr als 40 Knoten Wind. Meine Crew ist eingespielt und wir haben trotzdem 240 nm gemacht (ohne Motor) und Spaß gehabt. Hermes kann auf der App sehen wo sich das Schiff befindet und man ist quasi überwacht! Tatsächlich hat man mich aber trotz Starkwind und Sturm in Frieden mein Törn machen lassen. Andere Skipper von Seastar (Hatten wir letztes Jahr - gleicher Hafen) wurden vor Ende der Charter zurückbeordert.
Bei Übernahme haben wir festgestellt dass eine Segellatte fehlte, der Schaden wurde von Costa und seinem Team am gleichen Abend noch erledigt. Auch prima war die Unterstützung bei Beaufort 9 im Hafen anzulegen. Die beiden Schlauchboote haben mir echt geholfen und ich war dankbar für die Unterstützung!
Die Rückgabe der Hanse 458 war problemlos - wir haben auch nichts kaputt gemacht! Tatsächlich nehmen wir Hermes Charter gerne wieder!

In their response to the review, Hermes yachting is lying. We didn’t sign the check out report because we disagreed with the list of findings but there was no right for us to object as they simply kicked us out of the office. They don't respond to the mentioned email address. We asked them for documents for repairs and did not receive any confirmation in respect to photos of damages or repairs.

Now I will write what has happened with me.
We got the yacht “Salted Caramel” in Jul 2022. Despite the fact that the boat was produced in 2019 all my team got an impression that this particular boat was already 10 years old or more.
A lot of scratches and chips all over the boat. Unfortunately there were so many of them that there was absolutely no sense to fix them at the check in report as all of them were quite small. In the end however we had to pay for all of them.
As it turned out later, this yacht had serious damages in the past and was literally being put back together piece by piece. I have a video of huge cracks in the bilges which already require another round of repairs. All repairs from the past are of a very bad quality.
The most awful started upon our return and checking out the boat. When checking out the boat I pointed out that main Sail has damages as well as that the seams of the sail come apart from a slight impact on them. I have a video proving that. If you just hook the seam with your finger, it comes apart. The seams have come apart all over the surface of the sail. This is not the tenant's fault and the sails have critical wear and tear and need major overhaul.
In the end I have paid 450 EUR for sail repair:
Then the fun part started. Representative of the company discovered some water in the bilges and declared that this requires additional investigation and checks and based on that my deposit won’t be returned until all the checks are done. Results of this investigation and checks I was waiting for one month and as result I got an invoice with list of the works which were not required, there was no need in it. But for Hermes Yachting it was important to be creative and come up with works just enough for not returning my deposit:

SRV-000465 Other Works -Transfer the boat from / to Lavrio Port 200,00 ЕUR
SRV-000467 Electrical Works-Bow Thruster inspection 180,00 ЕUR
SRV-000465 Other Works pcs -Remove / Cleaning water from the bilges 300,00 EUR
SRV-000476 GRP Repairs -Repair crack at the bilge of jet thruster motorъ 250,00 EUR
SRV-000476 GRP Repairs pcs -Platform & stb side 250,00 EUR
SRV-000476 GRP Repairs -Inspection of the keel 100,00 EUR
In conclusion Hermes Yachting ended up adjusting the amount on the invoice to match the amount of the deposit. Allegedly having made the necessary checks.
When I have requested from Hermes Yachting documents proving and confirming that the works were really done as well as dates during which repairs were done and act of acceptance to and from repairs, Hermes Yachting stopped responding.
As result my deposit of 3,000 euros was fraudulently stolen!!! They have only provided an invoice from their company, nothing else.
On the day of handover, out of 7 yachts returning to port 6 had problems with boats.
Deposit was not returned to none of the customers of Hermes Yachting under different reasons. We had to wait for 5 hours in front of the office under the heat because we were not allowed to enter the office. They allowed to enter only one by one because with each of the customers they had a conflict situation. Each skipper spent approx. 2 hours at the Hermes Yachting office demanding deposit back but none of them got it back. Hermes Yachting just closed the doors of the office and left.
We are currently preparing a class action lawsuit against the company Hermes Yachting. Everyone who has been affected by this company pls get in touch with me via email chumboris979mail.ru

We rented a Yacht (sloop Dufour 46) from Hermes Yachting based at Cleopatra marina in Preveza during July 2022 for 6 days. Great boat in very good condition. Our skipper Andreas was exceptional. All in all we had a great experience.
