⭐ 1/5 – Absolutely unacceptable customer service. Never again Hertz!
I have never experienced such rude, aggressive and unprofessional customer service in my life.
We booked a rental car through Sunny Cars, but when we arrived at the Hertz desk, we were told that our bunq debit card would not be accepted.
Nowhere in the booking information we received was it clearly stated that bunq cards would not be accepted. We arrived expecting to collect a car we had already reserved, only to be refused at the counter.
What made this experience absolutely shocking was the behaviour of an employee named Maria.
Instead of calmly explaining the situation or trying to find a solution, Maria became extremely aggressive and started shouting at us. She was rude, dismissive and completely unwilling to help.
She even told me that she would not help or communicate with me because my boyfriend was the main driver and the reservation was in his name. We were standing there together, simply trying to resolve the issue, but she refused to cooperate.
We understand that companies may have payment policies, but these should be clearly communicated before customers make a reservation. Customers should not discover unexpected restrictions only when they arrive to collect their vehicle.
Regardless of the payment issue, there is absolutely no excuse for shouting at customers, treating them disrespectfully or refusing to offer basic assistance.
We were left without a rental car, with no solution and an extremely unpleasant experience.
For a company as established as Hertz, this level of customer service is absolutely disgraceful.
I strongly advise others to avoid this Hertz location. If you are travelling with a bunq debit card, be extremely careful, as you may be refused despite having a confirmed reservation.
Hertz, you should be ashamed of the way your customers are treated.
