Infuriatingly slow and clunky web interface - could not even easily find how to check out.
I dealt with Model Shop Leeds last week - great service from Martin.
The other good one is Component Shop in Wales......
P& P of £5 from Hobbyking is a rip off for a small order.

They charge you £20 for fast shipping of batteries and every time they then send you an email saying that because they are dangerous good, they will be delayed. No mention of it before hand. There's nothing you can do.
They will also tell you that the order is prepared by the warehouse therefore cannot be cancelled and you can only return it when you receive it, but then you have to pay for return shipping and re-stocking fee.
Shocking isn't it?

Shocking customer service. Bought a battery charger and an LED light bar, both were faulty but trying to get any information out of Hobbyking is like getting blood from a stone. Also ordered a camera on the 7th of May and still waiting for it now. Will never use this company again.
Update 3rd of June. Camera status for the last week has been in uk at processing centre only to now find out from the wonderful Hobbyking that it’s being held as there is a customs charge on it that I have to pay!!!! 😡😡😡😡 are they for real!!!!!!

wasn't sure initially because of the reviews. but went through the buying process to find the catch anyway. i'm a uk buyer and there was a charge with using paypal. pounds to dollars but i don't care because the price was excellent and the delivery was next day. 11am. 10/10

Another bunch if monkeys selling stuff that doesn't work bought a totally useless 30cc engine, even sent a video to one of the help monkeys, Dylan, no good not a chance of a refund without spend hours and more money, avoid like the plague

Been using HK for years, they've been brilliant. Only issue i've had was with a duff Lipo battery, contacted them via help message function on the website and they sent me a replacement no problem at all. Some great stuff at bargain prices.

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM IF YOU KNOW WHAT'S GOOD FOR YOU.

WAS ON CHATLIVE 4 TIMES AND GOT DISCONNECTED 3 TIMES. SPENT WELL OVER 2 HOURS.

ADVISER KEPT SAYING I NEED TO CONTACT THEM REGARDING MY REFUND, WHEN I ASKED IF THEY WOULD BE KIND ENOUGH TO EMAIL ME, THEY SAID THEY CAN'T, BUT THEY CAN EMAIL ME WHEN THEY TAKE MY MONEY..

No one can tell me when I will get my refund....of my cancelled order as I am STILL awaiting a refund. What sort of customer service is that??.

Your company is not even contactable by telephone...I AM TOTALLY UNSATISFIED AND WILL NEVER NEVER EVER USE YOUR COMPANY AGAIN.

Ordered a camera I could of ordered from another UK shop for same price only to be lumped with an extra £14.50 for it to be delivered as Royal Mail was holding it due to customs fees. So not only have I paid the same price for the same camera including VAT in the uk but an additional 50% as they ship from HongKong..
Avoid at all costs and use a UK based company..

hobbyking store is a fraud seller stay away from it , stole my money never refunded me or even respond to my message since two years ... i wont buy from this bad store anymore lesson leant .

I have held back from ordering from Hobbyking because of the many bad reviews on items missing, not working etc. I decided to go for it, ordered Avious Grand Tundra after reading so many good reviews, I also added a voltage regulator and some covering. Anticipating a problem I asked my wife to video me opening the box, just in case! Alas the voltage regulator was missing!!! I went on line to fill in a claim but the claim form is not really fit for purpose as you must attached photographs. How do you photograph an item that is missing???? Anyway I did put a photograph up (a screen shot saying how do I photograph a missing item!) Within minutes, my claim was approved and I have now received the missing item, Can't fault them so far. There are a couple of issues with the aircraft though so lets see what happens there, hopefully it will be resolved with equal efficiency

Having now had a reply of sorts from H-K I find their customer care performance to be laughable in the extreme. I may have this all wrong but....It seems that if a buyer purchases a non working item and wishes to have a refund or replacement they have to ........
1 Takes photographs and video of the NON Working ITEM (really ?)
2 Provide many serial numbers and purchase order numbers which H-K should be in possession of initially
3 Wait until their 'quality assurance' man deems the photographs or video to prove that the item is indeed not working (how they can come to this conclusion by viewing photos and videos I don't know !)
4 If their man agrees that the item is non functioning, you buyer is expected to return it for examination and ultimate confirmation of it's state of non functionality.
5 Wait for their decision as to it's condition, as workshop (theirs) damage or scratches may have occurred invalidating the warranty. In short H-K, I find your warranty returns procedure to be both long winded and obstructive in the extreme, and rest assured that I, for one, will not be purchasing from your Company again, and I intend to post this review on as many complaint sites available to me (eg Trust Pilot)

Absolutely disgraceful service. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
I ordered a boat & transmitter on 2nd December for my son's Xmas gift.
The transmitter arrived but no boat. When I made contact I was told it was on back order & it takes 30 days to re stock (but no guarentees) and couldn't tell me when this 30 days even begins.
All this AFTER I confirmed it was in stock not only on the website but with an online representative BEFORE purchasing for the sole reason I knew I may not get it if out of stock.
Now I'm stuck (13/12/2017) with still no updates & a useless transmitter therefore I will have a very disappointed boy on Christmas day.
The customer service representatives don't care at all & have disgusting attitudes. Needless to say I will never shop here again.

Hi.... I use Hobbyking uk many times and I can't tell NOTHING WRONG!!!! Always good quality, quick delivery! One day I decide pick up and staff was very friendly and nice!!! 2 times warranty action and was full professional quick and easy!!!!! For me 5 stars service!!!

Received my seg trackstar 28 but the glow plug was not turbo so there not cheap the engine was took 3 day to deliver the engine is the tightist engine ive owned from new

Hobbyking sells defective items and then will not back them up.

I bought a Cessna RC plane from them last month. The plane came with a defective motor and esc that caused it to crash. 3 other experience RC pilots saw and heard what happened.

After doing several checks of the motor and esc that were not harmed in the crash, I found them to be defective. (extreme overheating and motor would stop after 2 mins of half throttle)

Hobbyking would NOT even address the problem.

Poor and very unprofessional company indeed... cheaper is NOT always the best!!!!! Be warned... Hobbyking does NOT back there products.

Bit of a mixed bag .....
ordering lipo's (when the ones you want are in stock) no problems delivery within couple of days and their prices cannot be beaten. 1st class service.
aircraft orders ok until you have problem ie damage in transit or parts failure ... damage in transit the only option is to send it back and that can be a pain ...(huge box) seems you cannot have discussion to sort the issue out..
had plane that had u/c fail that took 3 months ...as items out of stock ... i did get parts replaced ... but long wait .. with no alternative offered ...
If they could sort out their customer service and have uk based one for the uk) oh and the website is hard to navigate ...

Absoloutely awful.

Tried to change my email address in my account - can't. Hobbyking sent me a request link which sends me to my account dashbord with nowhere to view submitted requests.

If they can't sort a simple request like this then how can I trust them and part with my cash judging by the awful website redesign, lots of complaints from other reviewers, increased shipping charges, no UK Warehouse and no UK stock e.g. when you search an item and specify UK it them comes up as EU or global.

Shopping at Hobbyking used to simple and reliable. No longer. My business going elsewhere. Banggood here I come.

Great price, great service!

I've bought Planes, Multirotors, LiPo's and a hole lot of spare parts, plus a 3D Printer and never had any problems with this company.

I case you have a question they have 24/7 online chat.

I always pay with Paypal.

I the one case where I received an incorrect item they issued a refund without having me ship the item back :)
