Paid for a Call-Out. Still Waiting.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Hoshizaki UK has been incredibly disappointing.
Our ice machine developed a fault while still under warranty, producing hollow ice cubes that are unusable for our business. After carrying out the basic troubleshooting we were asked to do, I contacted Hoshizaki to arrange an engineer visit.
Despite the machine being under warranty, I was required to pay a call-out fee before anything could be arranged. I paid this immediately over three weeks ago. Since then, I’ve heard nothing.
Two weeks ago I chased for an update and was told an engineer would contact me “ASAP”. Again, nothing.
We’re in the middle of summer, when demand for iced drinks is at its highest, yet our machine has effectively become an expensive storage unit for bags of ice while we continue waiting.
The most frustrating part isn’t even the fault itself. Machines break. It’s the complete lack of communication and urgency. Taking payment and then leaving a business waiting for weeks without any meaningful update is unacceptable.
I hope someone at Hoshizaki sees this and takes ownership of the situation, because the after-sales support so far has fallen well below what I’d expect from a premium commercial equipment manufacturer.
