The Insight Timer app is helping me tremendously with my insomnia issues. Couldn’t recommend the more!

I use InsightTimer daily for meditation that is integral to my mental, physical, and spiritual wellbeing. The app is an invaluable resource.

Absolutely love Insight Timer and recommend it to everyone! Fabulous choice of meditations and visualisations. It has got me through some really dark nights of the soul. I use the timer every day for my morning meditation and love how I have set it to ping every 20 minutes so I can choose between short, medium or the full hour.

I prefer not to give you a star rating if possible.

InsightTimer's support is utterly deplorable. I have been waiting for a response since Summer 2024 regarding a teacher who insulted me, falsely reported me for spamming, and claimed I was disruptive. I have solid evidence to refute these allegations. The support management at InsightTimer has shown a complete lack of professionalism, responding with abusive silence treatment and disrespect instead of resolution. Despite reaching out via all available social media platforms over the months, my concerns and feelings have been consistently invalidated.

As a Plus Member, my membership has been breached; I am restricted from using social functions. I dedicate my time to helping teachers and organising daily sanghas, which I genuinely enjoy. What was a lifesaver during Covid has become a source of distress since last year due to the organisation’s negligent and damaging attitude towards its members. The so-called teacher involved refuses to pursue reconciliation, while InsightTimer ignores serious concerns and treats us as just a number. All I was seeking was for a constructive dialogue in search for peace, resolve and unity.

I did nothing wrong; running an organisation with such bias is unacceptable. They feel and behave that they are solely focused on extracting money from their loyal customers and pensioners. It’s disgraceful, especially since I have formed valuable friendships with so many teachers and actively promote the app on social media. Teachers I know wrote to Insighttimer giving them a character reference to help me out and they were told that management are going to contact me. Months gone by and I am still waiting. Dishonesty and unpresendented attitudes and lies come to mind!

This organization needs urgent scrutiny; it should not operate on public platforms while ruining people’s lives under the guise of promoting well-being. Their actions are disingenuous and harmful. Just two weeks ago, someone named Alex offered to help after I reached out for support, yet I was subsequently blocked from that social media platform after providing the requested information. It is outrageous how good and respectful people are being treated with such severity, lacking respect, accountability, and care—especially those of us paying membership fees.

I stand with those who rated this irresponsible and dysfunctional organization with one star, but it truly deserves zero stars since even one star is too generous. Last night, InsightTimer had the audacity to send me an email asking me to rate their app; here’s my response. Someone needs to take action and stop this organization from continuing its unacceptable and devastating practices. ❤️‍🩹🕊️🌻❤️‍🩹

So much content! All levels of meditation. Something for everyone to get started and to grow their meditation practice and deepen connection. I use it every day.

Love this app. So worth it. Incredible value for what you get.

I have had trouble with my sleeping for years. Insight Timer has been instrumental in changing that. I have listened to guided meditations and love the diversity of the tracks on offer. What is my now go to is the preset tracks and particuarly the 8 hours of white noise - this is part of my everyday nighttime routine and I am so grateful a product like insight timer exists.

Insight Time is a seemingly endless Treasure Trove of meditations, courses and wisdom. Teaches only Love and lets you explore you and your world. Whatever your beliefs you will find something on Insight Time to bring you peace, kindness and Love. ThankyouandBless Insight timer

I love the variety of music, teachers, talks etc. plus the timer, that I use from time to time.
Recently they dropped the times for meditation which has caused me some issues. I liked that I could plug in 20 minutes and then look for a meditation of that length, now it takes me a longer amount of time to find something.

Insight Timer is a part of my everyday life. I have been benefitting from Insight Timer for over 8 years. I start every day with a meditation - it sets me up in a calm and centered manner for whatever my day has in store. And I end my day with a meditation, my favorite being Yoga Nidra. It helps me fall into a deep and calming sleep.

I'm a minister and an epigeneticist, environmental wellness. Few people understand DNA changes with the environment. Insight amazes me on the number of classes and meditation and mindfulness practices. Just learning to breathe is life changing. I've used it regularly since 2017 and recommend it to everyone. A class of 2k with serious illnesses were astounded when I taught epigenetics and using Insight. Highly recommend.

Insight Timer connects me to my Anam Cara throughout the world. It brings resonance to connection.

An excellent meditation app, the free version is fully functional but you get a lot of extra content when you subscribe. This is the one nonnegotiable app for me.

I use Insight Timer (IT) every day, in fact many times a day and during the night. Every time I wake up at night, I either tune into a live session, or play a guided meditation to help me fall back asleep. And during the day there are talks on all subjects, demonstrations, live music sessions, not to mention yoga, Qi Gong and other modalities. Very very happy with IT, been using it for 7-8 years, and recommend it to everyone I meet.

I’ve had this for 3 years after trying both Calm and Headspace. IT is far superior in terms of content, ability to ask teachers a question and the overall ease in using the app. It’s helped me so much!! Thank you

I've used this app for many years, long before it was taken over by the people running it now. The app is very good at doing what it was originally designed for - timing meditation and other spiritual type practices. I'd give the original version 10 out of 5 stars.

Unfortunately it's corporate makeover has diluted many, if not most, of the good features and added useless ones. Now I give it one star. I'm getting the 'click link in email we sent' message every time I open the app on my iPhone, with no way to skip it. One, I've never received the purported email, and two, this seems like a spam or virus type of notice. I won't click it, and since I can't bypass it, the app is now unusable.

As others have noted, it's now asking me a long series of intrusive questions when I try to open it on my iPad. Pretty sure this is just for their data selling side. I can't verify their data use policy, but I've seen screenshots of what other have posted, and hoo boy! they collect and share (aka sell) a ton of your data.
To top it all off, they've either removed or very efficiently hidden any way to contact them.

Despite having met virtually many nice people using the app, I'm deleting it. Goodbye Insight Timer, I knew you when...

One of the most altruistic mediation apps out there that fully lives it's values... worth a shot

It's now my go-to app for meditation and sleep. It offers what feels like an unlimited number of free guided sessions, music and talks. The customisable timer is one of my favourite parts, better than the other meditation timer apps I've used before.

I especially love the community feel - it’s inspiring to know I’m meditating alongside people from all over the world and being taught by real people. Highly recommend!

I’ve used a handful of meditation apps in the past 6 years or so and this one’s my fave! I love the diversity of content you can find on here — not just meditations but music, courses, online events. First rate. I often think if everyone redirected 10% of their time spent on other apps to Insight Timer, the world would be an exponentially better place.

Can't recommend this app enough. I've had it for years and there has been so much content added to it over that time. I use it as a safe space away from social media when things just get a little too chaotic. Works a treat!

I've not purchased the premium offering yet, but there's honestly so much to explore in the free version that premium isn't super necessary, which is a win.
