We brought our animal to this location because it's convenient for us and there was a Groupon for pet photos. The workers helped us well enough but they look like they were not happy to be there it's fine as they took our photos and the photos came out quite well. We were pressured into making more photo purchases than we wanted but ended up leaving with $100 worth of photos.
My big reason for leaving this review here is to be careful giving them your actual phone number for the past 5 months I have been receiving cold calls from JCPenney portraits letting me know about their different promotions. I've asked them several times to stop calling me to no avail. I even blocked the number but unfortunately since they still leave messages I still get that message left on my phone. It's very frustrating since I spoke with an actual human being to let them know that to please take my number off of their list. It's very frustrating after spending so much money on photos here that I get to be the victim of cold calling. So if you use JCPenney photos maybe give them a fake number so they won't keep calling you months after to come back and buy more photos from them.

Yesterday, we had a family photo session scheduled. They called us to change the time, which we agreed to. We arrived at 2:30 PM but didn't complete the pictures until 3:30 PM due to the long wait. The photographer seemed impatient with our multiple poses. I will never go back, and we weren't even offered compensation for our time. Zero out of five is truly warranted!

I will be filing a formal complaint but wanted to let you know of my experience at the JC Penney studio on Northridge. First of all, they did not ask us who would be in the photo's along with the Graduate. I had to bring it up and also discuss the props. They did not provide this and they should! My son who was the main person in the photo shoot arrived with his pet who he wanted in the photo 15 min before me (Mom paying) I was so excited to be part of this experience and the gal who was behind the register was on her cell phone! did not greet me or look at me when I was trying to say hello and talk about the shoot in process. Her cell phone was more important! Onward to the end of the process to view the digital images and 1/2 of them were just horrible. The photographer should have made sure the sash was on straight before taking the picture well it was NOT one side was longer than the other and on another my son's shirt was not fully tucket in she should have checked these things. Also some of the photos with the pet were just bad. I took a better photo right outside the lobby making sure I got the right angle, the pet wearing a grad had and bandana and the bandana was not facing the front omg. I will request a partial refund from them. I left before my son and I was SMH. I did not complain in front of him because this is his special moment. If you are working in this type of job you need to smile and give the best customer service!

I showed up today at open with a question about a dress I bought my wife and if they'd take photos. I walked in and off to the side was a woman on a phone with loud volume, it seemed was in a meeting, not sure since she didn't speak a word. I know she saw me but didn't say a word to me like "someone will be with you shortly." Ok, maybe she's a trainee. Five minutes later, a young women step out from the back around to the counter to pay for something. Another woman (third) steps out behind the counter and is helping the young lady looking to pay; first one is still watching videos on phone. Woman behind the counter eventually says to me, "Sir, someone will help you shortly." She then goes in the back for 10 more minutes; I checked my phone. She comes back after the woman standing at the counter waiting to pay was looking at her phone and helps her. In the meantime, one number one (phone lady) gets up and is behind the counter messing with equipment and directing the one helping the customer but never speaks to me. Finally after the paying woman has three credit cards declined and is looking for another payment source, the woman helping her says "While she is doing that, how can WE help you sir?" I ask my question and while I got a voiced answer like you're wasting our time, she also stares at the wall while speaking at me and has her fists resting on her hips. That took 20 minutes for a question. Customer service? (North Olmsted Mall, Ohio)

I got family pictures taken here. They were great and the price was very reasonable

Was so excited about Valentines day pictures of my son and the photographer was more than accommodating to my vision but all the pictures came out pixelated. For as much as these pictures cost, they should not look this bad! I downloaded them off shutterfly and posted them on social media and noticed how blurry most of the photos looked. Then i tried ordering hard copies and it kept saying low quality, bt I ordered them anyways and EVERY SINGLE PICTURE is blurry and pixelated and is complete crap. Why spend that much money when the quality of the pictures come out so terrible. I will never go back.

We had a 3:30 appointment for our family portrait and was on time it was 6:30 when we left. it was very frustrating to have to wait 3 hours with no explanation of what's going on. it was only 2 photographers and they were doing everything. Taking the pictures, reviewing the pictures, and calling you back to look at the portraits. The young man that took our pictures on 11/25/23 was very friendly and very helpful. He is over worked JCP. We love our portraits, but you have to do better with the wait time and price.

I had my family's Christmas card pictures taken at the Ocean County Mall in NJ. Brigid not only took AWESOME pictures but she was so patient and has the best personality!!! Also, Britteny, Mia, and Emma went out of their way to make it a pleasant experience!!! They work so hard and probably do not get the credit they deserve! THANK YOU!!!!

Katrina was amazing at the Rushmore Mall studio. She was patient and kind. My child has Sensory Processing Disorder and it makes it hard to sit still and to get comfortable in new places. She was extremely patient and so kind and I would absolutely book with her again 1000 times. I can't give Katrina enough kudos. She needs a raise in her pay for the amazing work she does. The pictures turned out amazing too.

Made an appointment for the first appointment of the day because we had a 3 year old with us. Didn't want to have to wait. Got there early as we were told to do, and there was another family there who apparently also had the first appointment. There was only one photographer. She started on their photo shoot and 40 minutes past our appointment time we finally gave up and left. She (photographer) was still not done with the first family. She didn't stop over to where we were sitting to let us know how much longer the wait would be. She just completely ignored us. JC Penney Portrait Studio has really gone down hill. Beware when booking an appointment that it doesn't mean you will get your portraits anywhere near that time.
