Having bought many pairs of Jeffery West shoes over the years, each trouble free, I recently encountered a small issue on a pair of boots purchased online. Within a day the matter was resolved to my complete satisfaction by Mitchell from the Leeds store and Guy West. A breath of retail fresh air and why JW can rightfully claim to be 5* on both quality of product and service. Well done 👍

Long time shoe wearer but first time clothing buyer

Of course the whole range is not priced low but if you are going to pay for quality, you certainly get it every time from JW

Over the last 26 years, I have purchased over 70 pairs of Jeffery West shoes, boots and more recently, sneakers. I also have their beautiful belts. The quality, style and detailing are impeccable, and I have had compliments on their items from everyone you could think of, from cabin crew to heads of state.

Sometimes the footwear can appear to be a little flamboyant to others, but I wouldn't ever wear anything else. I'm 53 now and I can't imagine a time when I will stop buying their shoes. My son, now 22, also wears their shoes. I love the Piccadilly Arcade shop but I hope to visit the Northampton store one day in the near future.

I’ve given 5 stars because I’ve been wearing nothing but Jeffery west for over 17 years and love everything about the shoes and boots. I use to be a gucci fan but no longer buy gucci since buying my 1st pair of jeffery west's in 2008, there is no comparison.

1 thing to mention I do not like the more recent red stitching that goes around the shoes and in my opinion that stitching should be the same colour of the shoes.

I’ve been a Jeffery-West customer for 20 years, having purchased over half a dozen pairs, and it’s the only brand of handmade leather footwear that suits my personal tastes. The designs are beautiful, elegant and sexy, unlike many of the traditional ‘vanilla’ designs offered by other Northampton-based brands.

However, I have to deduct one star for the following reasons:

1) While I mostly love the overall quality of the footwear, quality control needs to be better. Occasionally, I’ve come across pairs that have stitching or alignment errors, as well as creases in unexpected places. I understand that this is part and parcel with handmade goods, but there’s still room for improvement.

2) I’m not a fan of the models with contrasting red welt stitching, and often consider this a deal-breaker. Personally, I prefer the welt stitching being the same colour as the sole welts, which makes polishing a less laborious (and stressful) experience.

3) The shoe boxes should be larger/deeper, so as to reduce the possibility of the leather being crushed or creased whilst in storage. Such an increase in box size would also be beneficial for those who regularly use shoe trees/fillers (it’s amazing how much extra space they take-up!).

Aside from the above reservations, I wholeheartedly recommend this brand and plan to make more purchases in future. There’s no other quality footwear brand that even comes close to Jeffery-West, especially when it comes to design and flair.

No, the JW boxes I have are relatively fine but many thanks for the offer.

The problem is that your boxes are unable to accommodate your footwear after shoe trees/fillers have been inserted.

Absolutely beautiful shoes, good looking and well made, love the detailing on the soles but it breaks my heart to wear them for the first time scraping the detail. On my second pair now and will definitely be buying more!

I have just received an outstanding level of Customer Service from Toby at your Piccadilly Branch and I must say he is a wonderful credit to your brand. Warm, knowledgeable, with a very engaging manner and creates a wonderful relaxed vibe in your Boutique.

I would absolutely recommend a visit to the Piccadilly Arcade. The boots especially are just so wonderfully personable and absolutely turn heads wherever I go!!

Quality goods.

I purchased a lovely pair of WarneyCricket Derby Boots recently but much to my disappointment they were not a good fit/style for me as have rather wide feet.

No issues with the boots the craftsmanship is impeccable of the finest standard

So relucantly I had to return them - completing the returns performa and sending back via signed post and informing the company via their email address of my intention.

Customer service in particular Sam was very helpful.

If you wish to own a top end pair or shoes or boots please consider JW.

I have over 10 pairs of JW boots and shoes now. I wear them most days. Never had a problem. They are comfortable and well made. Great service when buying on line. Most recent purchase was last week and shoes are exceptional.

I also recieve many complementary comments from people when I wear them.

Absolutely horrific experience. After five wears, the zip had broken on the side, the leather at the back was lifting up. After originally telling me I'd have to post them back, they then changed to collection when I complained (they later said this was a mistake, and they were always intending to collect).

I was upset with the drastic change in quality that I'd seen in only five wears, and coupled with the faulty zip, I asked for my money back. I ended up on the phone with Guy West for half an hour where when I told him the zip was faulty and I wanted my money back he said "I have no idea what's happened, we've had thousands and they've never snapped" and "I don't know what you were doing on it, maybe pulling on it" as well as straight up telling me that the leather lifting at the back which has started is *not* in fact changing as I've seen it, but was always like that, no refund, boots are coming back with just the zip fixed.

This is within three weeks of purchase, so denying a refund for faulty goods when asked isn't just unethical, it's - guess what! Against the consumer rights act!

Appalling company, masquerading as good quality and ethical. Do not make the same mistake I did. I loved these boots before I got them, now they're having to be fixed after five wears, and the company literally couldn't care less.
