We stayed at sandaway beach holiday park.

Absolutely shocking not allowed to check in before 4pm. And have to pack and be out by 10am. Which is extremely Chaotic when you have multiple children. When we got the keys we was greeted by what look to be knives marks which made us look closer at the conditions of things. The Furniture was all Peeling away, cutlery had food still on it, the dishwasher pissed out water (yes door was shut properly) there was no loo roll not even one as most travelled for hours. The beds are ridiculously small as are the rooms and door way's. The manager is moody as anything and Absolutely no reasoning with her. She has absolutely no logical to her brain we asked if we could stay another two night she wanted us to pay 250 for 3 nights when when the weather was going to be pissing down ( we meet five other 5 family we all agree for 2 nights) yet this manager was not moving so she would rather let caravans sit empty and get absolutely nothing rather than rent for half the price to 5 family🤦‍♀️.

On a positive, the views are amazing. Some of the staff are really great like the life gruad and bar man they go out there way to put smiles on ya face.

Went on holiday to sandy glade for the Frist 2 night I had no sleep at all due to a football lot being next to us and having people over till 3 or 4 in the morning. Entertainment was poor my granson loved foxy club but there was not a lot to do for them. Bed not very comfortable and a bit damp shower needs replacing and heater as all dirty and rust all over them and we paid 500 for a gold caravan and it was not worth it swimming pool
was maned but they was not really watching what was going on we left 3 day early to come home as couldn't stand it any more have been going to John fowler's for about 20 odd years with my kids but it has changed so much and not in a good way

St Ives Holiday village
General Manager lead her staff well, all very warm and welcoming, although not in St Ives, accommodation was clean and had everything we needed, food was limited, facilitates on park catered for all

Stayed at Tolroy Manor Hayle. Accommodation was clean and reasonabley well equipped if a little dated. The entertainment was absolutely rubbish. We brought our grandson with us and the children's entertainment never happened. All the events advertised on the app just didn't happen. The machines in the amusements were mostly broken the foxys kids club never operated and everything closed at 9 pm. We complained to the facilities manager who told us they had no budget for the kids entertainment or anything else for that matter. The gent looking after the pool told us we had to leave the pool as he was needed to man the bar in the clubhouse!!. We won't be returning to John Fowler after many years of holidays here because the lack of investment is now very evident and has totally ruined Tolroy Manor.

We stayed at combe martin holiday park. Had a chalet no! 515. Floor was absolutely filthy. Wasnt even a one off as the carpets that went into the main bedroom had a dirt path that went into the room looks like it hadn't been cleaned for weeks. Desperately needs refitting. Had to use disinfectant on everything before we used it as you could feel the dirt. The cooker was disgusting. Not cleaned at all lots of burnt on grease. All window/door frames were rotten. Impossible to have a shower had to stand in Bath and hold shower head. No curtain in bathroom and bath was right up against window so no privacy to have a shower. Bottom of bath was stained with something brown. When I wiped the tv and fire over dark brown dirt came off. Couldn't put tv on as the signal was totally crap. Couldn't tune it in at all. All in all I think it was the worst place I've ever stayed. But the girls at the club house were polite and friendly. Couldn't post pics as no way to upload.

Booked a weeks stay at Killigarth Manor Holiday Park in the 3 Bed Silver Lodge Pet. Sadly it was not the experience we were expecting at all. The lodge was completely run down, I understand it’s pet friendly but the price that you pay I expected something better. The furniture was broken, the outside needed a freshen up with paint. The dining room table leg was falling off, there was a side table that was about to fall apart. There was a larger crack in the coffee table. The plug socket in one of the bedroom was about to come out of the wall with cracking around the socket. On the booking it said a tv with a dvd player. No dvd player just a tv on a table that had cup marks all over it.
On the first day there, we had a gentleman just walk into our lodge apparently on behalf of the owners to have a look at damage the previous occupiers had done. No warning of this and the fact he just came in was extremely rude.
We had owners one side of us who had reactive dogs so anytime we left the lodge they would go crazy which was stressful.
Just a disappointing experience, absolutely loved Cornwall but the accommodation needs updating massively. We definitely won’t be back.

We have just had our two week annual holiday at St Ives John Fowler holiday park.We have been going there for many years and it has never disapponted.The last two years we have noticed how much tidier the park is. It has a beautiful setting with units scattered amongst a natural old english wood but with the addition of many flower beds and a general air of good maintenance it is a credit to the hard working staff.This year the bungalow we booked had been upgraded and renovated it was lovely.Shouldn’t wish our lives away but can’t wait for next year and have already booked for 2024.

We stayed at widemouth bay holiday park. The Park was lovely and clean, people were lovely too. The only complaints I have is that the Platinum van we had was small compared to other Platinum vans we have stayed in with John Fowler. There was no Internet connection or phone signal where our van was located. On other sites we have stayed at they have invested in signal boosters. The area around where we stayed us beautiful.

If I could give it a zero then I would. I needed to cancel and asked for a refund to which I was denied. Ask reason being? They said I hadn’t asked in time. Even tho I asked within 14 days of booking it. They said they had not received any request when I sent emails they just ignored me.

I’m so surprised to see so many bad reviews as my experience could not have been better!
The staff were all so unbelievably friendly and really went out of their way to accommodate from the cleaning staff, to the bar/reception staff and also the restaurant staff. We had a group of 9 for breakfast and despite being short staffed the food was amazing, fresh, hot and so reasonable in price.
I’ve been to the St Ives park on multiple times throughout the past 15 years and the improvements are clear to see.
We will definitely be back to visit! The people who are leaving bad reviews maybe are expecting hotel standards in a caravan/lodge park?!
Please don’t let the negative comments put you off!

Cardiff to St. Ives
accommodation - wasn’t too bad, cute little place to sleep in and rough space for the weekend.
location- much further form st ives than i anticipated and we didn’t dare drive to the beach as we know how busy it can be. due to it being out of season the bus was not running so we spent a lot on taxis.
However, we loved walking the ground and through the woods. a lovely stream to follow and play areas for children.

Entertainment- although we had passes we did not engage with entertainment which mostly consisted of bingo .. gave the swimming a miss too.

Wouldn’t rush to return as it needs some work and updating, however it was clean.

Cheating business.
We stayed at Killigarth Manor Holiday Park for 3 nights.

I booked Platinum Plus, but they downgraded our accommodation to gold category (2 level down), without informing us and without any refund.
After my complaint they confessed that they downgraded but noone asked me. On the second day, after our complaint, we were moved to platinum lodge. But totally disappointing approach to clients. No apology at all.
As a result bad birthday celebration.

We stayed at St Ives holiday village. The staff were friendly and the food was good but the gold bungalow we booked looked nice but the toilet seat was hanging off, there was no blind in the shower so people opposite got a free peepshow, nowhere to put toiletries in bathroom, nowhere to hang wet towels, the floor sounded like you were walking on broken shells, the sofa was so uncomfortable, and the beds were so hard I woke up with a painful hip. We left a day early and will never go with John Fowler again.

Since we arrived at sandaway beach holiday park in north devon, our family have been overwhelmed by how much caring personalities are all over the staff. We had dinner at the restaurant tonight and all of my family could not fault the food which was cooked to perfection. Thanks to all the team all over the site for your help and courteousness that made us all feel very welcome. We are sad to leave this joy full and fun place. I would recommend going here for a family holiday. However, there was not a lot for children to do on the site.

Would never stop at another one of their holiday camps starting off with the breakfast we ordered was found in the kitchen and we had to cook it ourselves. We weren’t told about this when we booked, the two children’s bedrooms in the chalet, we found the mattresses were wet and they had made a new bed on wet mattresses, I asked how could this of happened and they reply was we, are shortstaffed,

WE HAD BOOKED FOR A WEEKS HOLIDAY AT TOLROY MANOR HAYLE ON THE DAY BEFORE WE DUE TO LEAVE WE BOTH CAUGHT FLU MY BROTHER PHONE JOHN FOWLER TO EXPLAIN AND IF WE COULD BOOK THE HOLIDY FOR A LATER DATE THEY SAID THEY DO NOT ACCEPT FLU AS A SICKNESS AND THEREFORE COULD NOT GIVE A LATER DATE OR A REFUND BECAUSE IT WAS NOT WITHIN THE 28 DAYS EPROCEEDED TO RING THEM
AND EPKLAIN MY BROTHER WAS UPSET BECAUSE IT WAS A LOT OF MONEY TO LOSE ESPECIALLY IN THESE TIMES WERE LIVING AND IF THEY WOULD NOT DEFER THE DATE AT LEAST COULD WE HAVE HALF A REFUND MY BROTHER IS DISABLED AND A PENSIONER AND I AM ALSO PENSION AGE THE PERSON SPOKE TO WAS NOT HELPFUL AND AGAIN SAID THEY DO NOT ACCEPT FLU AS AN ILLNESS SHE NEVER INQUIRD IF IT MIGHT BE COVID I WILL NEVER AGIN USE JOHN FOWLER'S FOR THERE COLD AND UNREPONSIVE ATTITUDE QUITE ROBOTIC AND I HOPE ANYONE READING THIS MAKE SURE WHAT YOU ARE BOOKING T ALLEN

Stayed at John Fowlers camping ground in widemouth Cornwall.
It should be called 'fouler than most'. Used the 'new' toilet and shower block.. Pathetic cubicles with no small wall or bench to put your clothes on.
One coat hook to hang everything on.. 15 seconds of shower time per push of the tap and no adjustment for temp.
There must be better than this.
If this is the future of camping I'm not going to go camping and I will not use John Fowlers again

South Bay Resort - over Easter School break

We had a lovely break here. Prices were reasonable for 7 days during school holidays. Especially when comparing to Haven prices which were almost x3 times more. We weren’t expecting too much, we knew with the lower price there wouldn’t be as much to do on resort. However, we were pleasantly surprised! We had our 4 and 7 year old with us and our family members has their 2 year old with them. The kids LOVED the kids club, so much so that we had to go every morning at 10am and be there for the evening (which wasn’t planned). The entertainment staff (who are massively overworked btw) were so happy and friendly and kept the kids laughing and excited throughout! They were amazing, especially Craig. They really made the holiday more enjoyable. They remembered most of the kids names within a few days! Very family friendly.

On a more negative note, the arcades are small, old and tired. The resort is small and there isn’t much else to do here but if your staying for the things to do around Devon and not for onsite facilities, this is a good base. The caravans were clean and spacious (Gold plus - 2 bed).

We would definitely come back again.

Second time staying at Combe Martin Beach. Caravan was very clean, it was a pet friendly van but you couldn’t tell any dogs had been in there or maybe we are just use to the dog smell but we thought it was clean. Site was good and staff were friendly. The only issue I have is, when it rained I slipped on the top step of the caravan landing on my back across the edge of the caravan and had to go to hospital but before then I saw a first aider on-site and she was very helpful but 111 suggested I go to hospital, where I had an X-ray The site obviously new about this but not one member of staff checked up on me later in the week, fair enough it was not life threatening but I was in and still am in severe pain. Just thought it would have been courteous.
