This company continues to go downhill
This company continues to go downhill. And I don't mean to gain momentum to get up to the top on the next hill. They offer saving, but it is built on a non-transparent system where they can easily take advantage of anyone not paying close attention to the end result of what they are actually paying for after the 'savings' are calculated well after you push the pay now button. Why would this be done like this? So they can keep that extra $1 you thought you were going to save, that they used to bait you to shop there, and if they pull this scam on 500,000 shoppers that week, well how much of a picture do you need to be painted? Krogers stores have attempted to scam me like this at least 12 times in the past one year.
The other downhill slide they are doing is that everything they put on sale now is overly high-processed garbage. Very rarely do they have more than one, or two if we are lucky that week, actually somewhat good-for-you whole food product. Like a bag of potatoes, or grapes that are good for 2 days after you buy them, or the steaks that they receive to their stores that are already packaged by a facility that pumps the meat full of water by hundreds of needles injecting it all at once. Sometimes their t-bones and rib-eyes have so much water in them you can put them right on big flaming charcoal piles with the flames directly touching them for 20 minutes straight, and they just sit there and sizzle and never come close to actually burning because of all the water pumped into them.
Fresh for everyone??
Fresh for everyone??? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve found old produce still on the shelves, moldy cheese that I myself have taken up to the checkout counter with not even a thank you. The bakery good are not fresh either. All of it should be put on the week old rack! With the elimination of the scanner law I have to continually check prices now. Even before it was eliminated I caught them over charging. Now it’s more often being theirs no longer a fine. The store is dirty and not well stocked. I never know what they will be out of. The seafood counter was taken out so my selection is limited to what ever they decide to put out. The digital deals now are few and far between. Just a bunch of whatever products. When there is a good deal on meat I have to get someone to get it out from the back. I can only conclude the employees are saving it for them selves. This has gone on for years at the algonac store. When I have the time I go to another store but out of my way. Some of the same experience but the stores are clean, stocked and have fresher produce
Kroger Brands
I was in the store looking for my name brand Applesauce. It was well a dollar more than Kroger. But Kroger looked like it had more cinnamon and cost effective. Decided to double down and try Kroger cinnamon applesauce. Well let’s just say that I found my new indulgence in Kroger! Cost less and taste just like name brand and maybe even a bit better 🤗. 48oz Love eating out of the Jar 🙊
Zero stars - Kroger Marysville, OH
This company can never get their sales and service practices right. They advertise one price on the shelf and charge another at checkout. They stock shelves all day and act like the customers are in their way. Customers do all the work then get to be audited by the lazy employees. And, Kroger is charging $10 for four sticks of butter, $20 for a container of laundry detergent; their meats and vegetables are horrible quality. This is a corporate grocer that only cares about their pharmacy revenue and their horrible digitization. And worse, they are leaving a few poorly trained part-time employees to deal with the wrath of their fed-up customers. This store has gone from bad to worse. Very sad demise.
No fan of the confusing digital coupons
The whole digital coupon experience is so confusing and hard to navigate. I usually will try to go almost anywhere other than Kroger because I loose out on the best deals. I feel like this is done intentionally at Kroger. It's very hard for me to save money there!
A ripoff
This is in reference to the Kroger store in Nora, are extremely expensive and and over priced!! especially now when things are getting more and more expensive. I always kind of thought that but then I went to Aldi‘s and what a difference. Our bill was a little over $100 for everything but I’m sure sure Sure that at Kroger would’ve been double. You always see commercials for Kroger saying about prices reduction . The price may be reduced after and only after they increase the price initially!!!
If there is anyone out there that wants to pay more make sure togo to Krog
Unable to tell customers where their own products may be found!
Called Kroger customer service today to inquire about product availability. I was informed that the majority of the products I had been looking for are technically still supposed to be available, but the telephone rep couldn't say where! Apparently, unlike other major retailers, it sounds like their electronic inventory system doesn't allow customer service reps to see just where shipments have been received much less when an anticipated shipment would be expected to arrive! I wonder if Kroger does this deliberately to force customers to patronize more than one Kroger location while on the search for specific products. I shared with the very kind and cordial rep that with the cost of fuel these days, customers might just give trying to find things in different locations and might just give up on shopping at Kroger entirely!
Pharmacy is very unprofessional route…
Pharmacy is very unprofessional, the pharmacist hung up in my face when I asked what ADA provisions they had for people with disabilities that could not go inside due to their drive-through being down for five or six days and the pharmacy technician was equally rude. This lead to me changing all of my prescriptions to Walgreens.
Worst Self Checkout Ever
I’ve always liked Kroger. They have decent prices, a good variety, and good produce. Plus, their sushi is surprisingly good and consistent (though way too expensive for some variations that don’t make sense).
Kroger’s self-checkout process is the absolute WORST. Compared to every other store (e.g., Walmart, Ingles, Publix, etc), I cannot self checkout at Kroger without having to wait for the attendant to come fix an issue at least two times per visit. Seriously. If you hold two items while you’re scanning your own products, he kiosks will freeze because it thinks you’re stealing. If you checkout with too many items at self-checkout, it freezes because it thinks you’re stealing. If you checkout out with too FEW items, it freezes because it thinks you’re stealing.
I am 🫰 this close to never shopping at Kroger again because this is so annoying. They only ever have two-three manned checkout lines open at a time, and they are almost always backed up (with a 10-15 minute wait time). The self-checkout option is also often backed up, and I just cannot stand scanning my own products and being told (seriously) 2-3 times EVERY TIME that I have to “wait for an associate” because of all these little glitches.
Check receipt against sale price offered on shelf
Workers there bust their butts and work hard. Mgmt seems to like to scam customers put a sign with a great sale price on their items but at checkout charge a high price. When u question u are told oooh its a different SKU number. What? Its the exact same item on sale with different SKU? BS take the sign down if thats not the correct price. Sketchy business practices
Lots of things about Kroger suck
Lots of things about Kroger suck. Their website is horrifically slow for one. Like 2-5 minutes just to open the login page then even longer for your account page to open. Is kroger hosting their page on gramma's old Windows 95 Gateway computer?
Their prices are horrible as well, unless it's on sale. Then it is a normal price. So basically Kroger dictates what food I buy whenever I shop there, siply because I would never pay their normal price for stuff.
My experience with the Morehead
My experience with the Morehead, KY pharmacy has been incredibly inconvenient. I attempted to pick up my blood pressure medication twice, assuming standard closing hours, only to discover the pharmacy was unexpectedly closed at 4:00 PM both days. There were no prior alerts about these early closings, despite ongoing text notifications that my prescription was ready. To add insult to injury, after these two wasted trips, I was charged $5.95 for delivery. I'm very disappointed with the lack of transparency and the additional cost incurred.
Kroger Not Transparent About Anything
Whereas their yogurt used to be my absolute favorite, Kroger recently changed the ingredients of it's plain full-fat yogurt out of the blue, suddenly adding modified corn starch (MSG) and gelatin. There was no mention of this change on the product container, so I purchased it as usual. I didn't realize the change at first and I had some of the yogurt the other day and couldn't believe what it tasted like. It's hard to describe how bad it tastes now. Kind of like powdered milk mixed with vinegar. Just awful!
If they were going to suddenly change the ingredients, they should have put a note on the container about this. Some people (including me) are allergic to corn and MSG. And a lot of people who avoid meat products (for religious and other reasons) avoid gelatin, so they should notify people about adding that ingredient.
I tried to leave a review on Kroger's website, and, like another review here on Trust Pilot, I also got the message "Failed to submit your review. Please try again later. " I tried on several browsers and got the same thing. Wow, what a surprise that my 1 star review didn't go through.
I also found an enormous insect body part in my frozen broccoli from Kroger recently. I feel like they just don't care for quality anymore. I only bought frozen because their fresh produce is never good.
I also have had the experience that other reviewers on Trust Pilot have had, where the sale price does not ring up at the checkout. I purchased something on sale recently and didn't realize until after I got home that I was charged the full price. I'm sure this happens to people all the time.
They are also extremely racist. I'm white but a lot of black people shop at my local Kroger, and there are so many security cameras literally everywhere, like I've never seen before. It's so gross how they treat people.
Disgusting practices across the board for Kroger and won't be shopping there again.
If I could give 0 stars I would
If I could give 0 stars I would. Kroger canceled my subscription in January, it is now March and I am still trying to get my refund back and no one seems to want to help me. They just keep saying the refund has been successful on their end but yet I have never received it and they don’t seem to really care. Honestly I don’t think anything was issued to me at all. They are stealing money from people. Do not give them your business.
I was at Kroger on Bechtle around 8 pm
I was at Kroger on Bechtle around 8 pm. It was Wednesday and raining hard. Hardly anyone was in the store. I asked the guy at the service counter what to do because I lost my cards so I could get the gas discount. 1rst of all, he acted like I was a nuisance, wasting his time. I said, " Sir, there is no one in line. It is not busy. That is why I came." He stopped and played on his computer with a gas card and said it was done. I got home, and he didn't do anything. I think someone else is running Kroger's Store on Bechtle than the people before. I've never seen such young people act so irritated with the customers. I've been shopping at Kroger's for 50-some years. I'm about to go to Walmart. Which I already have for most of my shopping. Now that the worst-behaved young people are running the show at Kroger.
KROGER B1G1F BECAUSE FOODS SPOILED
MY TYSON CHICKEN HAS GOO THICK GROSS STUFF ALL OVER IT AND SMELLS. IVE TAKEN PICTURES. ALSO MY TWO PACKS OF SEA SALMON HAVE BOTH PACKAGES WITH HOLES IN THEM. NOTHING LIKE OPENING CHICKEN PACK TO SMELL SOMETHING AWEFUL WITH THICK SLIM AND WATER. I HAVE PHOTOS BUT CANT POST HERE I GUESS.
They will overcharge you by 100%
I will give this one negative star if I could. I haven't wrote about them until now but when I was living in Portland OR, we have Fred Meyer. Fred Meyer was wonderful. Then once Kroger took over, it's all going into the toilet. I moved 2500 miles away in AR and it's still the pit.
The service is bad, but most importantly, they cheated you. Better watch your receipt. They will tell you this is your discount on the shelves, and then when you ring it up, it's 100% more and no discount. Today, I tried to buy Scott toilet paper. On the shelves, it said $5.99, it rings up to 15.99 instead. I asked, and they sent an older lady with gray hair to check. She came back with another price for Kleenex instead. Never go there again.
I bought a one pound package of bacon 2…
I bought a one pound package of bacon 2 days ago for 5.99. I go in today and they have bacon bogo and they are priced 8.49 a package. That is absolutely ridiculous price gouging your customers like that. These higher ups in these companies should be ashamed to look themselves in the face every morning. You make record profits while you screw every customer that comes into your stores
Kayla
Kayla, at checkout...so friendly...the guy that bagged was great too..
Love shopping here...nice people
I went in the Kroger store yesterday…
I went in the Kroger store yesterday the Kroger in Lake City when I entered the door there was a Mexican man, rushed me kind of fast and bumped me and pushed me and tried to take my purse, and my husband approached where he was the Mexican man tried to fight my husband. The security guard came over asked us to leave the store. He never said anything to the agitator. This person should’ve been put out of the store. He assaulted a woman, and he tried to take my purse and the security guard was all for the wrong Customer. I will never again shop at that Kroger store I shopped at that store at least 10 times a week. They do not have my business anymore. The customers were the ones trying to help me and my husband the people at Kroger were helping the agitator the wrong person he was looking for someone to steal their purse because he’s up by the front door. He had two children with him as his thing to make him look like he was legit, but he was looking for a woman with purse to grab because he was closer to the exit he should’ve been detained. The police should’ve been called. He should’ve been arrested. Instead he kept trying to fight us in the parking lot. The security guard came out there. He never once asked that man to go on about his business he kept telling us to leave. I think this was wrong. I am looking into maybe Sue and Kroger and seeing what I can do about the way I was treated in the store. This is an insult. Kroger already has a bad wrap so I think from now on I will shop food depot or Walmart or Publix. Kroger sucks.
