I bought a Samsung tablet from Steve several years ago and I needed to update all the charts on it. Being totally incompetent at anything IT based I went to Steve's site to make contact and was devastated to find it not available. Fortunately, Steve contacted me following a speculative email from me and I'm delighted to say that as an existing customer he is able to provide the customary outstanding service he has always provided. Steve has suffered some challenging health issues recently but it's great to see him still providing his first class and unique support to the sailing community.

Steve helped us out by preparing a tablet, loading charts and instructing me on a bank holiday weekend. He was free with his time snd nothing was too much trouble.

We bought a CF30 Toughbook loaded with charts from Steve around 2015 and it's now done around 40k nautical miles and never failed. It's with Steve now for another update. We are saddened to learn of Steve's health problems and we sailors wish him fair winds.

What a Gent!
I bought a preprogrammed tablet which has run seamless for a couple of years, decided to upgrade to an AIS transponder & unfortunately didn't speak to Steve first, I had some issues & contacted London Chartplotters to discover he has been seriously ill, despite his own problems he very kindly gave me some advise from his extensive & incredibly technical knowledge, giving me confidence, he's so enthusiastic & able to give the info in a way that's so appreciated to an "idiot level user" like me - thank you & all the best!!!

We found Steve to be exceptionally professional and accommodating of our specific requirements. He explained everything to us both verbally and via email. He was very prompt in executing our purchase and having it delivered. We cannot recommend this service enough! Excellent!

I rarely write reviews but I’ve just used the Samsung Galaxy chartplotter supplied by Steve at London Chartplotters for 11 days of canoe sailing on the west coast of Scotland. It stood up to the demands of big water and a very small boat really well and when there was a minor problem with charging due to wet connections Steve was quick to provide really helpful advice which solved the problem. Thoroughly recommended - great value and brilliant service.

First unit was faulty - exchanged very quickly with no fuss. Very helpful some time later when unit dropped into safe mode - sorted out issue over the phone quickly.

I have used Steve for many years now and am saddened to here of his health problems.
Over the years he has gone above and beyond to provide a great service, thanks!
However being in effect a one man band has it's problems, in that if you are seriously ill then radio silence can be the result People should be a little more compassionate and if they say nasty and untrue things then find out the reason behind this, they should be big enough to apologise.

Great communication great product really happy

Two years ago, I bought two Samsung tablets from London Chart Plotters and charts from Visitmyharbour.com

I was preparing for a long planned ocean adventure. After 2 years of prep and some excellent support and advice from Steve Davis (London Chart Plotters) - finally this June, I will set off from Falmouth to the Azores - solo - non-stop.

My primary navigation will be the tablets that Steve prepared - the Samsung T545, with the T395 as a backup. I will have the main chart plotter and a lot of other electrical stuff turned off. But the tablets fully connected to the boats NMEA/AIS network and using it for comms to an Iridium GO! - all vital tasks.

Over the past few months of sea trials, including a challenging cross-Channel sail I have found the Samsung to be top class. The battery lasts for a least two days in full GPS/Navigation mode and surpasses the iPad in usability and longevity - plus Steve ensured no other 'rubbish' apps are running on the tablet -so all the critical apps run without any interruption.

I am hugely grateful to Steve. I hope that not only the knowledge but also the enthusiasm that he brings to his business will be handed on if he retires.

Thank you very much for all you help and advice. I received my tablet yesterday , working perfectly , and I know I can trust you with any problems I may have in the future 🙂

Steve has looked after me for years and has NEVER EVER let me down.

Steve was very helpful and knowledgable when explaining to me about charting options. When I finally placed an order he faced incapacitating health challenges as mentioned by other reviewers. Despite this Steve went above and beyond to get the job done and honour the order, trully dedicated to his customers and his products, a real expert and professional and thoroughly decent guy.

Steve has had some serious health problems which hospitalised him for 3 months whilst he underwent major surgery and sadly someone he trusted to take care of his flat and beloved dog let him down badly.

Despite all of these issues as soon as Steve was well enough he very quickly engaged and resolved my outstanding order for a Panasonic tablet with the excellent upload of Antares charts for my sailing trip from the Solent to the West Coast of Scotland.

The tablet has arrived however i had to depart for Scotland earlier than planned and will go home to collect the tablet in the next few weeks

Thank you Steve for achieving this given everything you have gone through and sadly once London Chartplotters closes it will not be replaced

What can I say? After many years in the industry I have at last found an honest hard working, professional and knowledgable supplier of Navigational Equipment. Steve is a true professional, nothing is too much trouble for him, he will go out of his way to help you, advice you and provide you with the very best service. Do not underestimate the quality of service he provides, exceptional. Even though Steve has been battling a very serious and severe health problem, he still maintains the highest work and moral ethic. I could write pages but I hope the reader gets the drift. He is a true expert, he is truly honest and knowledgable. Thank you Steve for helping us. I cannot recommend you more highly

So sorry to hear that Steve has such severe health issues. I purchased a Samsung tablet last year and had excellent service.... if Steve doesn't know the answer, then you don't need to know it !!!!

Steve is amazing. He has severe health issues at present and has been in hospital but when he got out he sorted our chart plotter with Antares charts as ordered - Very excited to be able to take this new piece of kit with us to Scotland.

Wonderful to deal with. Steve is a legend. He revolutionised the UK gps nav scene for us boatfolk. Still doing updates for customers, despite being in hospital for the past three months. Thanks Steve.

Do not buy from this company. They are scammers. Took my money and never delivered the Samsung T395 I bought.

Highly recommended!
Tablet GPS antenna was faulty, about a year after purchase it stopped completely. Steve checked it over and then sent out a replacement, without any hesitation. I would highly recommend London chartplotters to anyone who wants a good piece of navigational equipment.
