Truly awful company….

My experience with mears today was outstanding, a multi trader named Dean came to my property and he did the work so efficiently. He was polite, very tidy and the work was done within the time frame. Thank you Dean for making me happy I can now use my new cooker.

Didn't turn up for appointment made days ago
Not happy!

The worst company ever. Roof fell in whilst they were doing replacements because they stupidly stacked the roofing tiles which caused it to fall in, this could have been deadly as it fell on the bed where my nieces and nephews sleep. Workers are very negligent, super slow, no respect for residents. They came to fix our bathroom leaving stickers on the bath tub. Replaced our windows and left stickers on the window. A very horrible company.

Just wasted my time and didn't even give me a call.

A job that should've been a day's work still not finished months later. Two cancelled appointments later because their seemingly one and only carpenter rang in sick. .it then takes a month to get another appointment.

Claims they can't get the things they need to finish the job when they are readily available in most stores. The don't care attitude of their staff. .making their incompetence your problem,they really are shockingly awful!

Head and shoulders the worst company I've ever dealt with. As someone who is chronically ill i need the job completed! Numerous visits,numerous cancelled appointments,numerous excuses and the job still isn't done. A job that should've taken 1 day!

Poor. Use my recycle bin to get rid of their industrial waste. Leave the work area dirty.
Dont express any frustration as they play the woke card and terminate the calls. Customer service are aloof and dont place the customer first. Awful company, work personal, and overcharge for their work. Absolutely useless and avoid if you can.

Terrible . Avoid at all costs

I have never come across such an incompetent bunch of workers and landlords. They manage a property below me in Stevenston North Ayrshire and there has been ongoing issues with rats & unkept Gardens covered in dog mess for nearly 2 years. No reflection on the tenant who is lovely and unable to cut the grass due to not keeping well. Her kids, one who is disabled are unable to safely enjoy their own garden. Landlords and Mears should be ashamed. Jane Marshall and Anthony Keenan I have never come across 2 people that cant even acknowledge or reply to email between them. Never Available on the phone either

Shocking! Impossible to get hold off have waited 2 years almost for this repair to happen, when you do get an appointment for a repair you wait in and they cancelled the job without notifying customers along with no explanation as to why.

Was told mears coming out to do work on house bean waiting for work to b done since 2022 they have done some of it but was told Wednesday that mears was coming out Thursday morning to put new tiles in porch and it is now 12.50 pm Thursday and no one has turned up yet so what is going on it was ment to b 1 day's work if u r council tenent mears r the worst firm out their so if got the money get it done by a good firm and u can charge the council for the work and at least u know it is done right mears u got 1star was going to give u no stars but phone won't do it ont hink to say to mears get your finger out and get job done on time

Unprofessional

This band of buffoons have consistently failed to achieve the very low standards they set themselves. I agree with other reviewers that Mears appears to see these situations as work-creation opportunities. They deliberately stretch the work out as long as possible to extract the most money from the council taxpayers of Exeter. They also do not like being held accountable. I recently contacted the housing assets surveyor who very quickly got things moving. Mears obviously did not like this and is now playing petty power games and deliberately delaying the internal works in a pathetic attempt to establish dominion. They are truly awful.

How these people get away with contracts is beyond me. Bodge job everything,cheap as possible. They create work with simple jobs so they have to come back out and say they're "affective" they're *really* not... most recently I've had a 2 year long disrepair battle going on, still uncompleted and my solicitors at gowing law have told them it's a breach of contract as they have instructed them supposed to hack off 2 m square by 2 meter square of plastering by my front door, left wires dangling covered by "gaffa tape" to "make it safe" took over a week to get electrician out, planner never called me back when I was told they would. Always show up when your not in dates and times are never given. I would never use if I had personal choice.

How this company has Government contracts is mind boggling. Especially the MOJ.
Staff have no previous experience working with offenders or CJS. Nor do any managers.
Staff who support vulnerable adults after their release from prison cannot relate to their clients due to lack of experience, and most including managers can't even complete risk assessments let alone follow them. Staff are to support both men and women in the community alone, within the property supplied my mears some of which are HMOs snd have multiple tenants. This was put in place to save money so as to win the contract. Before this every visit was co.pleted with 2 people attending. Mears do not give a shit about their staffs safety AT ALL.
Staff google clients to read up on their offences then discuss with other members of the team and share their unwanted opinions and negative comments with each other. Disgusting !.
Hopefully a better company that genuinely wants to make a difference will win the next tenure. Can't Wait.

Selling out our country for money!

If I could give no star I would, absolute drain on society. Does not help the people it was set up in the first place to help. Defund this woke virus of a company.

The mears inspector that was at my property yesterday is not welcome back ,Chris I belive his name was ,arrogant, rude ,disrespectfully,changed his attitude when the council inspector turned up ,I remind you this is my tenancy and I pay the rent ,have some respect for peoples homes,considering this work has been on going since September,and still not completed, mears didnt turn up today as expected so I have 5 fist size holes letting in water ,wind, rats ,why don't you all come in

I saw a video on utube one of the operatives was chasing someone ramming them and trying to fight the driver . How good the recruitment team must be . It was absolutely shocking

Today I supported my mother move furniture ready for Mears to undertake some works to her council property. I was sat in lounge having taken annual leave bearing in mind I travelled 50 mins to help in order for a rude and arrogant worker to turn up. The way he spoke to my mother was absolutely sickening. They treat council tenants with no respect or decentee..the sooner the contract expires the better for the council they are clearly defrauding the system on their work with them refusing to actually mitigate the issue at my mothers property. Disgusting organisation
