Just a heads up to customers - Check your accounts if you have any credit in them.
I had some problems including looking after an ill relative at the end of last year and MoveGB kindly agreed to pop some of the unused credits into my account to use when I returned.
Then the pandemic - and today with the announcement that gyms are re-opening I decided to log in - Membership inactive, money gone. They never mentioned that there was a time limit on this or that they would just whip it away; I logged in about a month ago and the money was still there waiting to be used but obviously there are no activities at the time - I was rooting for MoveGB to re-open as they have been pretty good over the years,some teething problems and inconsistencies (I did upgrade to a full plan for about a year but then still had to pay top-up fees for activities, it didn't make any sense but they did help when I raised these discrepancies). Also they kept changing the formula, I also had to explain to a lot of Yoga Teachers etc.. how the system worked, sending their providers a simple F.A.Q like PDF would have resolved that often embarassing situation.
Otherwise MoveGB started very strong but then a lot of providers left and it's just always been trying to get a full roster of partners again. The real kicker was when Virgin Gyms left making the Highest Tier Membership less appealing - When they had Virgin on board it was great Value, use the gym + activities for a flat fee. Before that they partnered with PureGym but that also fell apart - After Virgin they didn't get another gym on board for memberships. Seems that there was a lot of providers in the early days and these just dropped off.
Otherwhise it was pretty good if a little clunky, the search for activities didn't really work very well, the only thing to do was load up the whole map and pour over every pin on the map - why a search would omit activities that could be found on the map is anybodies guess. Also the Conceirge service wasn't very helpful, you could book a class for a week or so away and then you would receive constant emails that the booking hasn't been secured yet but they are still trying - it would have made more sense to just send 1 email when the booking is secured (the client could then assume that the conceirge process was working away in the background without being reminded several times a day - with multiple activities at the conceirge stage this became quite a challenge to deal with all of these emails), with this constant influx of emails it was easy to miss a class-cancellation email or another important communication; Otherwise MoveGB sent out far too much spam on top of the emails associated with the account and booked classes, a weekly or monthly digest would have sufficed.
Anyway just a heads up, I think it's grossly unfair that I was given this credit of £47.88 which they have just decided to cancel off during some spring-cleaning before it was able to be used to pay towards activities.
I'll watch with baited breath if they can get this promising company off the ground again in the coming months and how they will be treating their customers.

I was invited to join by the team of physios from at my local leisure centre who are running virtual classes during the lockdown. The system is working very well and enabling the elderly among us to continue the targetted exercises with others that we used to meet up with.
