Technical loops, automated messages, and zero support for an Ivy League admit
I am beyond exhausted with MPOWER Financing. I have had three successful applications with them in the past, but the current process for my University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) loan has been an absolute nightmare.
The portal is stuck in a technical glitch—it marks my "Nova Credit" check as complete, so I cannot redo it, yet the system keeps demanding I do it. I have sent countless emails with screenshots and documents proving this error, but I only receive generic, automated bot responses.
It is clear that no one is actually reading my emails or looking at my attachments. I am an Ivy League-admitted student with a scholarship, and my I-20 is now at risk because MPOWER cannot provide a simple human response or a manual fix for their own website error.
If you want a seamless process or human accountability, look elsewhere. I am tired of the bureaucracy and the incompetence.
UPDATE: The frustration continues. About an hour ago, MPOWER finally sent me a link to re-run my credit history via Nova Credit. However, as I have explained to them multiple times, I do not have a credit history. I have already provided an official report from XDS Data confirming this. Because there is no file to pull, their system keeps returning an error message. I have sent them screenshots of this failure, yet they continue to ask for the same thing.
Furthermore, they are still demanding "proof of home address" despite the fact that I have already uploaded:
• My National ID (Ghana Card).
• My Non-Profit’s Constitution (officially signed by a Commissioner for Oaths with my address listed).
• My previous Master's admission letter from the University of Ghana, which clearly states my home address.
Like I said earlier, I have had three successful applications with MPOWER in the past. Their process used to be seamless, but it has now devolved into a broken, automated loop where no one actually reads the documents provided.
MPOWER, kindly have a human underwriter manually review my files. My I-20 is on the line. THANK YOU
FINAL UPDATE:
I am pleased to share that MPOWER has fully resolved the technical issues with my application. After my initial frustration, a member of the team personally stepped in to manually review my documents and help resolve the credit check error.
I am grateful to the team for their attentiveness to my complaint and for ensuring my transition to the University of Pennsylvania stays on track. I have officially received my Support Letter now. Thank you for the human intervention—it made all the difference!
