Music Gateway Reviews 

I have had a bad experience with communication with Music Gateway - quite a few bad experiences. I had left an extremely low review of them, but... I had a face to face conversation with them, and although I am still skeptical, they reassured me they will do everything they can to make it right. So as of right now, I will give them a chance.

Really lovely team. It was great to work with Lee, Leila, Leon and Sophie and their comms when I needed to ask questions were brilliant. I appreciated their support and how enthusiastic they were - really meant a lot. They explained things clearly.

The only constructive feedback is that I felt sometimes I could have been kept in the loop a bit better and some things could have been more proactive, e.g. letting me know when to check for Business Manager access requests, or letting me know when my pre-save campaign was live and what the links were — it took me asking or chasing to get these updates. When I raised this they were apologetic, professional and listened to the feedback, which was appreciated (shout out to Sophie :-) ).

Ultimately, the product wasn’t quite for me, so I only went ahead with 2 of 3 campaigns in the end, but I’d definitely recommend to up-and-coming artists who would like a diligent, expert, committed team to help make their campaigns a success, without having to do it all by themselves. Highly recommend.

releasing an album with them next month and support took 3 days to answer my initial inquiry, once the ticket is open they follow up within less than a day and actually offer detailed responses which is good. the splits are good, i would happily pay $200 and keep 100% of the masters and have fast customer support than to cheap out and use something like distrokid for $20 where the customer support doesn't even exist and there are so many issues with random song takedowns. Hopefully everything continues to run smoothly, user interface is simple and helpful. the website has a couple bugs here and there but nothing too crazy. Some of the additional services they offer don't seem to be worth the money, you shouldn't be paying 2 grand for playlist pitching that gets you a minimum of 40,000 streams (i think they have cheaper options but thats the email from the price point i got from one of the a&r's). id suggest just buying ads at that point but to each their own. But honestly if you are relying on only using their services to promo your music you're marketing strategy is doomed before it even started lol. All in all, pay the premium and keep your royalties, in todays age its worth having a real person to respond to your emails within 1-3 days, and its a non exclusive deal so if you blow up you can transfer your music to a record label if you wish

Amazing support from Jon. So far so good. They are really fast and treat you like a king. Hope to get good revenues with my songs in this platform.

The platform is very useful and user-friendly with seemingly great opportunities. Though the communication for an A&R meeting is interesting. Before anyone comes at me…. They told me that they could not help, which was fine (I have my opinions on that) but the meeting never happened, yet it was canceled 2 times.
Happening once without detailing the reason is bad enough as it is… but 2 times?
Make sure you work on your communication and stop spamming people with “possibility” if there is no actual one.

I started putting some of my music on MG for sync purposes, they offer a few interesting services to help those artists who are looking to get a sync deal and need to get to know more about this complex world. So far I can say their communication via email is transparent and helpful. I personally still need to dig a little more into this world, overall I sense seriousness in what they do.

A really well run company with great customer service, prices are a little high with the minimum available service being £450+ but it’s worth it.

We had a couple of minor issues with the platform and after connecting with Marcus Power and Jon Skinner, who sorted the back end glitches, the issues are now fixed. The human connections make all the difference and have given us confidence moving forward with MG, Thanks Guys!

I have great experience with Music Gateway.
Originally i found them regarding the license sync opportunities.
But then i learned that they have a whole lot of cool tools in one place, which is a huge plus.
I originally was using distribution and publishing with another platform and was looking to migrate my catalogue to another distributor.
Besides that i also would love to mention Marcus Power, his assistance with my case and needs as an indie artist is above and beyond.
I feel very taken care of on this platform, it got distribution, publishing, sync opportunities, marketing and all. So i got everything in one place.

Lee & Ryan were really helpful with our single campaign and the results exceeded our expectations.

Met folks at Music Gateway this week and they were very quick and efficient in their attention to my matter.

Update 3 5/17/24 , they have refunded me my $90 and we will be moving on

UPDATE NUMBER 2 5/16/24 : So after fixing my issues with the coin rebuttals and the fact my music didn’t pop up on the transfer list , they had given my coins to reupload the songs using same isrc to have them appear , but then don’t tell you use must spend $90 on pro to upload an album and then don’t tell you , you also have to spend 30 coins per song on album to upload it , so you have to spend $90 and any album over 5 songs you gotta wait a whole nother month to add another 5 songs to just upload that’s not even to claim publishing which would be 10 coins per song and then 10 per song for syncing so you end up spending 500 coins just for a 10 song album that would cost you realistically without the coins $72 dollars just upload an album claim publishing and uploading to syncing , oh and even after submitting for syncing if your song gets accepted you will then be charged another 10 coins to submit to the movies , tv shows or videos you want to use . Support has been ok but every week there’s another member leaving for something and you have to wait to get into contact. All I want is my albums and singles transferred properly from my old distribution company , claim my publishing and have access to submit if wanted it’s been a month of working on this. I would say there a great platform from what it seems but needs a huge fix within how you guys do your credit system. As well as Lee told me there is no way for them to credit my account for upload my album properly like it should have been , I’ll be moving to a platform that actually has a support team willing to provide all information about there platform and how uploading works. As well as a platform that’s not looking to charge you $200+ dollars to release an album. That’s a joke to independent artists and for you guys not being even close as big it’s ridiculous the price you charge , that’s probably why a staff member is gone every weekend.

UPDATE: after leaving my review I was contacted by Sophie and Lee. Lee personally called me to try and fix the issue , we got all but one issue fixed which was still a hastle but everything was fixed or given a solution.

ive been trying to transfer my music from distrokid to here and while doing so they didnt have all my songs available for transfer so i email distribution team 2-3 times nothing its been 3 weeks dry my music still in review which i dont understand why and i cant get in contact with support at all. I want to use this platform for all the things available like publishing and syncing but this is awful. i want to buy pro but waiting on the fact cant even an answer an email about transfering my music almost been a month.

While the team was generally helpful, we were disappointed with the campaign's outcomes and the level of communication throughout. We understand that radio campaigns can be unpredictable, but we found that the majority of the results stemmed from our own outreach rather than the efforts of the team. Additionally, we felt that there was a lack of enthusiasm from the colleague overseeing our campaign, which impacted our overall experience.

While this service may be suitable for certain projects, we believe there are better opportunities available for achieving a more reliable return on
investment (ROI).

I haven’t used their service yet but plan to for my next release. Marcus was great and knowing this service exists gives me confidence for my project. So good to know that you don’t need a label to access this kind of help.

Had a issue with the release of a few songs lately , needed a support than I had phoned the company and spoked to Marcus Power , and this lad made the total difference. Very attentious and caring , replied my emails very quick and went out of his way to help. Fair play to him , amazing costumer support !!

Great service and attention to detail from their support team. Replied in less than 24 hours, providing with a solution, recommendation to a mistake that was being done in our submission and kept all stakeholders of our project in the loop. Felt very personalized and human and not automated.
