Very helpful and got the job done. Recommend this company.

Booked in for full service and mot Tuesday 5thAugust on my Renault captur. Failed mot on broken coil wanted to charge me £406 for repair. Asked them if they could fix it. They replied they couldn't because they didn't have a coil compressor to do job. Went to a local garage to they charged me £406.58 for new coil spring nappa stabilising link shock absorber top strut mounting kit and finally sorted out my stop light issues.
When I phoned national tyres for a retest well within 10 day grace period. The coil was fixed on the 7th August by local garage. National tyres told me there diary facilities and techniques were not available within there grace period .
BE WARNED DON'T GO TO NATIONAL TYRES rip off service price and no 10 days grace period for retest. They would easily book you in if I paid again.

The tyre change was fine.

However, the 30-point safety check may not be worth doing ahead of an MOT.

Although the car passed the safety check at Halfords, it failed the MOT on two major points — both of which I had expected to be covered.

One was a rear seatbelt that had never been used and wouldn't buckle — yet it had supposedly passed inspection.

The other was a headlight beam issue, which wasn't flagged because it falls outside the scope of their check.

It may be more effective to carry out basic checks yourself and arrange a separate headlight alignment if you have concerns.

This isn't a complaint — just a reflection that the safety check, in this case, offered limited value.

I had a damaged rear spring that I was unaware of until my car went for its MOT. These guys were able to fit a new one same day so my car would pass. Would definitely use again.

MOT service great, app useful because it allowed me to reschedule the MOT easily when I realised I could not make the original date.

This morning, Saturday Oct 5th I went to National Tyres and Autocare Formby (Altcar Rd, L37), 97 Altcar Rd, Formby, Merseyside L37 8DL. Phone: 01704 833940 (Opposite Tesco).

I have two new wheels and tyres from Erde that needed fixing to my Erde 142 Trailer, the job was to take the two old wheels off and to put the two new wheels on. Probably a 20 minutes job.

The 2 young gentlemen who work there didn’t seem at all interest in doing this relatively simple job for me and came up with number of reasons / excuses as to why they couldn’t do this for me.

Neither man seemed at all interest in doing simple avoid work to change two wheels for me which is odd as I had always thought National Tyres did that for a living.

But hey, ho, all I can say is dreadful and uninterested staff who work at National Tyress really need to consider why they do that job in the first place. Awful customer services.

My recommendation sis to anyone considering using National Tyres at Formby is don’t bother go elsewhere.

I am surprised that they do not have an award for "Team of the Year" to be presented to the most productive and influential branch since Formby would feature prominently in such a scheme. It would further enhance the competence image if all certification awards earned by mechanics and support staff were prominently displayed in waiting areas to reinforce the fact that your car is in safe hands and will be treated with respect and consideration. An outstanding experience of mechanical skill and knowledge serves to reinforce the fact that you have made a wise choice in entrusting your servicing needs to National Tyres and Autocare, serving the motoring public with an acclaimed standard of true professional talent.

Had my MOT and interim service on the 12th of May. I didn't receive a smoke report but was told everything was okay. Asked if there was anything majorly bad on the MOT, looking at possible future garage bills - nothing - only what is on the MOT . Received an email (today) via Halfords premium motoring club that I needed to renew my timing belt and fuel filter. TODAY. Now on the interim service (£149) they will look at my timing belt and fuel filter and report if necessary. Only filter they will replace is the oil filter. Guess, I won't be coming back - cheers for the quick headsup guys.

Just booked in on the website, easy to use and able to arrange a payment plan which was great.

Excellent experience one year ago at National Tyres and Autocare Liverpool (Vauxhall Road L3) Branch (four new tyres fitted and alignment in less than one hour), Nice experience with mobile battery fitting one mounth ago , BUT worst ever services received twice in Formby Branch with new tyres fitted + Alignment And Balancing in 4 hours time few months ago , and the last experience two days ago when they manage to change two tyres in 3 hours and ask me to wait another 1 or more for alignment (paid but not done)... One of the boys very arrogant and taking the job as a joke !

Your company broke my headlight trim, didn’t inform me until I picked my car up, then told me it just fell off and would only cost ME a couple of quid to sort. Turns out the trim has had all its housings sheared off. Will take it to mini on Friday to ask their opinion. Have already had a quote if £45 to replace it, disgraceful, even sent out 2 big blokes to watch (intimidate) as we discussed what to do in car park. will leave same feedback on Halfords site.
