Received an additional invoice for fuel used which i thought was fair enough but then received an additional invoice for over a hundred pounds in admin fees!!
i contacted the number on the invoice to question the additional charge and was met with a very rude man who was the most unhelpful person i have come across.

Have had over 10 vehicles from Nationwide over the past few years, never had any major problems. Vehicles are always delivered before the time requested, pick up can be a bit tardy but I have a big enough driveway so isn’t an issue. Most are clean, a few have looked like they were just picked up from storage yard but all in all no issues.

Easy and quick service , vehicle turned up on time and they picked it up a few days later. All went nice and smooth, had no complaints.

I would strongly advise others to avoid Nationwide Hire based on my experience. After being told they were running late to collect a vehicle, £150 was taken from my bank account without any authorisation.

When I contacted the office, I was reassured that the company would handle any issues; only to then be charged anyway, without my consent. The communication was inconsistent, and the customer service was extremely poor throughout.

From my experience, there seems to be a pattern of unexpected extra charges being taken without proper notice or approval. I would not trust this company with your details, proceed with caution or choose an alternative.

I had a very disappointing experience with Nationwide Hire Van.
I specifically ordered a Mercedes van, but instead was given a Vauxhall. There was no proper explanation or option offered at the time, which was already frustrating.
When I returned the van, I was told everything was settled. However, 43 days later, I was unexpectedly charged the full amount with no clear explanation. This kind of delay is completely unacceptable.
If there were any issues, they should have been raised at the time of return—not over a month later. The lack of transparency, poor communication, and failure to provide the vehicle I booked has left me very dissatisfied.
I would not recommend Nationwide Hire Van based on my experience.

I’m moving house and needed a van quickly. Really easy to book, great van as described. Lovely staff and very helpful when I extended the booking. When I love again I’ll be using them.

All the staff were nice and polite and helpful and the man who dropped the van off was very courteous and arrived on time.

Really good team have used them a handful of times and no issues at all on drop off and collections vans have been in really good condition will use again

Firstly we booked for delivery at 6pm as we were both at work until 5pm.The Van arrived at 9 30am the bloke dropped the keys through our letter box and parked it in a disabled parking space!!
There were no checks carried out on the driver or the vehicle.There was no Ad Blue in the Van and the drivers headlight wasn't working.The Van was also dirty inside and out with lots of dents!!
The Van was supposed to have been collected at 12pm on the Saturday but it is now Thursday and its still here Unfortunately we live in an area that is Permit Parking only which we did tell them at the booking stage so we have had a parking ticket !! We contacted them and they said its our responsibility until someone collects the Van.I cant understand how any Company can operate this way.Ive contacted other Van Hire Companies and they have all said its madness.

Easy to book and great service. Received an upgrade on vehicle free of charge so sue to the one booked having a fault. Dropped off at my house and picked up without issue. Would definitely use again.

Absolutely shocking service. This company hides behind unfair policies and refuses to issue refunds even when no service whatsoever has been provided. Instead of acting with basic professionalism, they cling to customers’ money and offer zero flexibility or accountability. Communication is dismissive, unhelpful, and shows a complete lack of respect for the people who keep their business running. The entire experience felt exploitative from start to finish. I would strongly warn anyone considering booking here - there are far more honest and reliable companies out there.

Van arrived on time, all good, friendly delivery guy.

However, I only needed it for a couple of hours, so I ended up returning it to them myself as they were fairly local.

Had I not, it would have been parked outside the house for a few days (with them unable to rent it out) and I’d have had to hang around to hand the keys back at…some point.

So was expecting a monetary thank you. But sadly, just got a rather nonchalant ah well.

We have used Nationwide Hire UK for van hires a few times at short notice. Always delivered on time or early. Polite staff. Both vans were clean on arrival. One had a small dent, but nothing major. We've had good service from them. Will use again.

I had hoped to drive home with the transporter to get back the night before it was due for collection, only when I set off I realised the vehicle had no headlights whatsoever (and that wasn’t only one of many issues this vehicle had) so I had no choice but to set off the next morning meaning I would be late back by two hours. I called them to let them know this as through no fault of my own their vehicle can not be driven at night and they said no problem that is fine. They definitely ‘didn’t say’, oh thats fine but we will take another £300 off you!

They charged me £300 for an additional two hours hire!

I handed the vehicle back to the driver who said all checks have been done and passed. Funny that considering I had a further invoice for extra petrol so again they took a third payment from my account without permission or warning!!

As you can see from the photo a £300 hire cost will more than double with these scammers! Read all the other reviews, I wish I had done so. It seems they will find one way or another to more than double it.
I’ll be closing my account tomorrow that is how much I don’t trust these scammers for potential further costs they might dream up!!

Do yourself a favour and steer well clear.

An absolute disgrace! They shouldnt be trading and getting away with scamming people!!

I would never recommend this company!
We booked a van with them for 4 days and they sent the wrong van which was unsafe to drive on the road. We found them very rude, unhelpful and very unprofessional and we were scammed by them.
They took money out of our account without our consent and tried to claim we was liable for their wing mirror hit by another third party which we reported to them as the person excepted liability. They had all the details of the third party and were liaising with there insurance however they took £591 out of our bank and wouldnt return it!!
They are scammers please dont use them their scum and shouldn't be trading and aloud to continue trading!!

Was quoted easily and drop off was on time, only slight compliant is that when we dropped the van back earlier than anticipated, I was told explicitly on the phone that we’d have to wait until the time slot we had selected, but in reality they don’t come and pick it up during the timeframe booked and we ended up having to leave the keys in a bush for them to pick up in the end, after having waited around for two hours for apparently no reason!

If this last bit hadn’t have happened, it would have been a five star review. Just need better communication on the drop off process.

Absolute shambles.
Phoned to enquire about hiring a minibus in Inverness. They told me it would have to be delivered to my home and I couldn't collect it. No problem.
After accepting their quote and receiving order confirmation, it said I had to collect the vehicle from Inverness...60 miles away!
I responded that, ok, but I'll have to extend the hire time by a day for me to travel to pick it up, and would they keep the same quoted price? Received an email saying they would look in to it. Next email just cancelled the booking!
Phoned their 'Customer Service' line and after the guy said they cant help me he hung up the phone!
Avoid them.

One of our group got the dates wrong after booking. It was not a problem the team at Nationwide Hire were brilliant in changing the dates. No hassle no drama.
