I went to this hairdresser and unfortunately, I am very disappointed with the result. The hairdresser does not speak Dutch, and there was clearly a communication problem. I explained exactly how I wanted my haircut, but the sides were cut much shorter than I asked for. This is not what I wanted at all, and my hairstyle has been completely ruined. I feel very upset because I was very clear about how I wanted my hair to look.

I visited New Look Hairstyle in De Pijp to schedule a haircut and was met with rudeness and discrimination. I was dressed casually to go to the gym, and the stylist refused to book me, claiming he was "booked for weeks". A quick check of his online calendar shows this is completely false, he has plenty of openings.
To make matters worse, the client sitting in his chair felt the need to chime in with a snide comment, saying "He is a professional", insinuating that I couldn't afford the price and was beneath their standard clientele. She then told me to "Have a nice day" in a highly condescending tone. The interaction felt racially charged and classist.
I was obviously profiled, dismissed, and humiliated. This is not a misunderstanding. This was a deliberate, racist, classist refusal of service. Do not support this business. He does not deserve your time, your money, or your respect.
