I have been trying for 3 years to verify myself. I have a driving licence and a passport but can't get the video recording to them. Ridiculous. I am quite technology minded but this is absolutely horr... Toon meer

Only as good as the people who feed it.
I guess it is only as good as the people who feed it with data. For me it is of little use, as it is not kept up to date.
I feel it has a long, long way to go before I can give it any more than one star rating.
consultants letters missing
several consultants assessments letters missing. Where are they? Up in the ether?
I need to be able to view all documents again.
Communication is dire.
Worst App ever
Worst App ever and a complete waste of time. Told by GP surgery to book COVID/Flu jab on App. Found my nearest Pharmacy and booked myself and partner (we are in or 70s). A day before due date got a text stating out of stock please rebook. Tried different Pharmacy 20 min drive away. Arrived and was told Pharmacist on holiday and the system did not allow him to cancel appointments. Third booking we turned up, only COVID available out of Flu jabs. App is about as useful as a chocolate teapot!!!!

The app doesn't show any of the consultations I've had it's not worth having the only things that have come through on it is reminders for appointments otherwise it's pretty useless
Untrue information mostly
If this is the NHS Apple App then it is very upsetting facts about me often wrong if gps notes on telephone appointments they either mishear or just don’t listen properly I have MS and many health problems due to the illness doctors are too busy do much for me so mostly I get no help they do not keep upto date with my hospital appointments or state the correct details of present health say I gained weight when I lost weight imply I was uncooperative with carers who have been rude to me etc etc
It's really awkward to log in
It's really awkward to log in. What is wrong with using date of birth as a log in. No that would be to easy. They have made it difficult for me to log in , so I hope I will still get written letters.
Waste of space...
I registered with the NHS - or tried to.The system is designed to send you a passcode to verify you when you attempt to log in first time. It took me three full days to get it to send a passcode..
Half the information on my local hospital visits does not exist..None of my bookings show. Coupled with the fact I received telephone bookings with no message confirmation or follow up .I had to ring up the hospital to check they really existed - some of them did not!
Basically a good idea with terrible implementation. Total waste of space..
Updated 20/1/26
My local hospital does not allow any of its information to be shown on the NHS App. They have a program to do it : looks like it has taken two years..
Still not implemented..I had three scans within a month and received zero feedback at all.
Only receiving notifications for really…
Only receiving notifications for really old recommendations. Those are impossible to get rid off.
No info on anything health wise after January 2025.
Local hospital went digital and stopped sending reports via post, telling me to use the app, so I can’t monitor my blood tests anymore.
The app really is useless and needs binning.
Error code on accessing on mobile
Error code on accessing on mobile. Must have reported 4 times and had not one person contact with any advice whatsoever. Uninstalled, reinstalled. Can't even access help on it. Prescription due, grrrrrr will have to order another way. Unless it works on a tablet. But then they think I can access it and close the complaint down.
Cumbersome
Cumbersome, clunky and overall absolutely useless. Would not accept passport photo, then would not open the camera. Ridiculously complicated and unreliable. All in all, total crap.
Zero Stars.
Actively hostile to the Elderly. Seriously, how many people in their 70s/80s+ are scanning paper/plastic docs and uploading them for age/identification verification? How many Elderly people are using their GP Online service and then using that for age/identification verification? If you are outside England you are denied the chance to even try.
Actively hostile to the Disabled. Many disabled people have no driving license/passport/photo ID. How do they provide age/identification verification?
The access operating software is generally unstable, badly coded, and the database erratic or absent. If you are good at coding you can make a great living. If you are bad at coding you can still make a good living in the public sector and at the public’s expense by working for NHS Digital. As NHS Digital’s software staff were clearly not actually qualified to develop their own app they spent more public money and outsourced development to private companies like Kainos. They in turn delivered an unusable product but still got paid. By you, the public. Oh, yes. Nearly forgot. Kainos reported pre-tax profits in 2025 of £66 million. Their headquarters are in Belfast, Northern Ireland where, ironically, you cannot use the photo-free/verify via GP registration option. Just as you cannot use it in Scotland or Wales. Not that the exclusive-to-England photo-free/GP option works anyway in any reliable sense.
It is a system designed solely to look helpful for Political Purposes, not for ultimately helping Patients. It is like taking a patient’s pulse whilst holding a pillow over their face.
Scrap the app, fire NHS Digital, start again and demand Kainos return your money. They’ve got lots of it.
Alternatively, NHS Digital can just do nothing and wait for their own version of Mr Bates vs The Post Office.
hit and miss
So hit and miss, tried to order repeat prescriptions and there's no way to know whether they've arrived at the surgery or not. I don't get any confirmation that they've been ordered and the surgery didn't receive the repeat. Absolutely useless.
Not a good app
It is challenging to book a simple appointment, view results. The only appointments you can book are for flu vaccine and asthma.
Absolutely dreadful service
Absolutely dreadful service ! I have diabetes or so been diagnosed diabetes last year anyway and cannot access the NHS app ever since having it ! I’ve done everything possible over the months , and just says the the same thing cannot connect too GO error code CID 7026 . I’ve spoken or emailed should I say nhs for help they said try resetting the app uninstalling it and reinstalling it . They asked if I’d moved GP I said no ……. Absolute pointless service that doesn’t work as indicated in all the reviews! Interesting enough not one positive review insight I can see . I do wonder why we all pay our “National insurance” for services we can’t use nore get musical treatment for !
The NHS APP is pathetic
The NHS APP is pathetic. It does not work at all. You can’t book an appointment what’s the point. It’s gives you one option for a surgery which is not even ours. Don’t know which imbecile made this app.
Awful
Its no surpise that in 2025 we cant get an app to function without starting over and over again constantly.
Its deliberate and is done so you give up trying
When you call your local surgery they tell you to use the App.
Disgraceful

Absolutely useless cannot access any of the information the claim, keeps looping my around to my doctors surgery which is abysmal as well, how are they going to get digital going when they cant even organise a simple website
To set up and use was very difficult
To set up and use was very difficult. I am now able to use but it holds very little of my detail following a recent transfer from one GP surgery to another all my past records are not there anymore. Also, I tried to link someone else’s record I care for (home page says contact your GP surgery to request access) they ‘don’t know’ ..they advise they have nothing to do with the NHSapp. I tried to open a separate app for the person I care for but it won’t let me do that either as I am using same contact number and iPad.
Only wish I could give minus stars
Only wish I could give minus stars.
This app is great IF you are young and used to apps.
If you are an 80 yr old with dementia who regularly forgets passwords it is the opposite of user friendly,
I have spent the past two weeks liaising with the help desk trying to get my Dad access once again to his app,
Finally they sent him a link to reset his password with the result we chose a password, reset it and now the app will not accept it.
Hopeless.
Thank goodness I work in my Dad’s surgery and can put things through for him.
I’m ready to hit a brick wall with this app though. If I with a degree can’t make head nor tail of the difficulties elderly people might face with it what hope have they got.
Awful just awful.
NHS is useless
This is the message from the NHS
you have not chosen your clinic please login and choose as you have been referred by Dr Etc
So login check my referral page and it says you have not chosen your clinic
So next page you only have one option the clinics name. Okay I’ll choose that one then… but there is no option to choose the only clinic I can have.
Then call the surgery to see if they can help and I’m number one in the queue for 45 minutes and no one answers
Useless app and a waste of a morning
