Charged me for not fulfilling a quote!
Quoted to rewire a boiler. Thought that £120 was a bit much but trusted in their expertise. When they came to do the job said that it was not possible as they didn't have the parts. They then charged me a £48 call out fee for the advice!
Is it just me or when someone who is an 'expert' contracts to do something and then doesn't do it the buck stops with them!
Its a bit like saying I will quote to cut someone's lawn but not bringing a lawnmower then saying I 'm charging you for advising you that someone else can do it if they bring a lawnmower!
My search for a competent electrician continues...

Thank you for your review. However, it is not accurate or truthful. The quote was to allow for a permanent live to be wired into the existing boiler. This is what you requested and at the time of quotation you presented our company with false information leading us to believe it could be done in the manner in which you requested it.
However, on arrival on site our engineers were quick to realise what you requested was not possible. Our engineer spoke with yourself and explained the situation and you were happy with it. Our engineer then tested the cabling and the controls on site and then advised the cheapest and most effective way to get the result you were after. It was at this point that you yourself suggested a call out charge was to be invoiced and you would pay it.
You’re metaphor doesn’t make any sense in relation to the facts of the incident. Unfortunately your search for a competent electrician will continue if you can not be truthful with them at quote stage. We can only do what we are asked and within reason. You have never been charged for what the quote stated, you have only been charged the call out fee suggested by yourself and agreed by yourself.
