A sneaky little way of cheating customers of a few bucks here &there
I'm updating my review after my experience yesterday. I noticed that my data was almost used up, so I went to purchase a new data plan.
Unfortunately, OneSIM doesn't allow you to buy a new data plan until the old one's used up. So I deliberately used up my data, checking how much I had remaining every few minutes. When I received an SMS that my plan had been used up, I immediately put my phone in flight mode. I then purchased a new data plan. But right before doing that, I noticed my balance was $4 lower than it was earlier that day.
So I went on OneSIM's chat support and explained what had just happened. The guy agreed this lower balance was due to the lapse in between when my data plan was used up and when I received an SMS about it. And he did not give a flying flip. He said it was _my_ responsibility. I'm not sure how something that wasn't humanly possible was somehow my responsibility. It's particularly deceptive considering that OneSIM is always encouraging customers to buy a plan in order to avoid exorbitant charges for data.
The first piece of spaghetti he threw at the wall was to suggest that I sign up for automatically renewing data plans. Well, that's exactly what I used to do, and OneSIM makes it clear that the same thing can happen with automatically renewing data plans.
Next, he took this as an opportunity to upsell me to the DataMax SIM card. At my expense, of course. After his prior suggestion, I had no reason to trust a word he said.
Unfortunately, I don't know of any other SIM card service providers for international travel that are a better option.

Great help and support but the website is flaky and often unavailable, and I do not know why. I cannot log into my account yet again, Cloudflare reports a host timeout or in one case when I did get the account login page and SSL handshake failure.
These should not be problems, and they need to fix their web hosting

I paid for 1GB of data for 30 days in…
I paid for 1GB of data for 30 days in Russia. I was charged $20 for the physical sim card, $3.99 for postage, and $8.90 for the data. This card has no coverage in Russia. I was in St Petersburg for over 10 days and it never worked. I know it was installed properly because it worked in the US and in Turkey, but not Russia. I emailed and told them they had no coverage in Russia, but they didn't care. Fortunately, I didn't rely on this card. I had another one fail on the trip before. I bought a different phone with ESIM and used NOMAD and it worked perfectly. If you are going to Russia get a phone with ESIM.
response-I don't know where you get your records, but all I can say is I was never able to access the internet with your sim card. You can make me sound like a liar, but I know I'm not. I'm trying to make other people aware of the issues with your card in Russia. I would never trust your company again.

We looked through your account and the Support Ticket you sent. All indications show that you, indeed, used data while in Russia on the MTS PJSC network. We are not certain why you are under the impression that the service in Russia wasn't working. You can review your records on your account that show the usage in Russia. We also offer eSIM with service in over 200 countries and territories, including Russia.
We see that you did not open a Support Ticket until after you left Russia, we recommend contacting support while you are in the country having issues. Most issues can be fixed by simple changes in device settings.

I have been using Onesim since May 2024
I have been using Onesim since last year. I have used it in Europe and Turkiye and I had a great experience. Not only that the customer service is really good. Whenever I signed up to contact the support chat, I contacted knowledgeable and helpful people. Today, my agent was proactive and suggested a better option - even though I was looking for an answer for something else - for my next travel that saved me a lot of money. I highly recommend OneSim for those who are traveling and do not want to purchase a local sim card every time they visit a new country.

Terrible product as well as terrible customer service
First, every OTHER international physical SIM card I have ever bought immediately works automatically when installed-not this one even though my plan essentially covered the entire world. I installed it in Mexico & nothing. Contacted CS & all they did was provide chat replies that didn't work for two full days. Only when I got to Europe & reinstalled the card did it finally work. I bought a 2 gb/30 day data only plan (only needed the plan for 20 days total) AND I always set my phone to data saver. Basically I only use it for GPS in cities & for Whatsapp & Google. That's it. In the past that is MORE than enough data for 3 weeks. Yet somehow after about 15 days I get a vague message that "your data is almost used up" BUT unlike other SIM cards it didn't say how much is left. SO...I checked my phone data usage-it clearly showed that I used ONLY 1.30 gbs of data since the date of installation YET when I logged into my acct. it said I have used about 1.84 gbs. WTH??? I contacted CS WITH a screenshot of my phone's data usage but they claimed it was WRONG but refused to document how I used the amt. they claimed. They kept lying to me over and over again but would not provide any documentation. I had 3 days left in my trip so I didn't want to buy another $20 plan that I would never fully use BUT had $5 in credit where I could buy a SINGLE day of data for $4.50 for the nation I was in on my last day. But lo and behold when I went to do so it was magically down to $3.71 so I could NOT buy the one day plan! I kept getting the run around from their CS & they finally relented & gave me enough data to get to the airport. Additionally one of their CS agent had to gall to tell me that I could download Google Maps directions to use offline...no S Sherlock! But that is a pain in the keester & NOT why I bought a data plan-the arrogance & hubris was unreal. I don't buy a SIM card & a data plan to have all kinds of hassles while I am trying to actually enjoy my vacay...avoid this company & their lame product at all costs. Finally they don't have 24/7 chat CS-almost every time I had to leave a chat message & then it would take up to 12 hrs. to get an e-mail reply-unacceptable as well.

user interface outdated + bugs + Customer support doesn't respond
The user interface is completely outdated. I once lost $50 for credit that was never activated, and another $50 because money was deducted directly from my customer balance even when no credit pack was purchased. Customer support doesn't respond. I initially chose OneSimCard for the ability to receive SMS, but that doesn't work either — not with my bank, nor with Google verification services.
I've now switched to AIRALO and I'm 100% satisfied. My girlfriend uses HOLAFLY — there are occasional bugs, but she always gets refunded and their customer service is responsive.

Thank you for your review. As we can see from your account usage and as we informed you in the support ticket, your data package was activated and used in New Zealand. The data package lasts for 30 days, it was activated on 2/16 and expired on 3/18, after 3/18 when the plan expired data was charged to your balance at the standard rate. In your account there is an option to automatically renew data packages to avoid paying for data at the standard rate.
Our SIM cards are capable of sending and receiving SMS, however the numbers are not compatible with most banks and we do not advertise them to be capable of receiving verification SMS.

Don't forget, we have a "friends and family" referral program if you know anyone that can benefit from our service(s) Our Refer a Friend program is available to all OneSimCard active account holders. For each friend you refer that purchases new service, you will receive $10 ($5 for rentals) deposited into your 1SIM Money Fund. The referral bonus will be received once the order for new service is placed, shipped and the 30-day return window has closed. You can then use these bonus awards to recharge your airtime or use toward any other purchases. There are no limits to the number of friends you can refer or the bonuses you can receive!
In addition, your referred friend will also receive a 5% discount on their initial order, excluding airtime.
To refer a friend, simply log in to your account and click the Refer A Friend link on your main account menu (https://onesimcard.com/?user ). You will be notified when your referrals make a purchase and will be able to track all of your referrals right from this Refer A Friend page.
