Sent defective item and wont respond to emails. I also placed another order while waiting for a response about the defective punch I was sent and they never even sent the order. The website is still from the early 90's and very frustrating you cant make an account to check your orders. I will not use them again and I suggest you don't either.

Originally, I was concerned about ordering from this company due to all the negative reviews on Trust Pilot, however after searching the internet for two months, they were the only company that had the specific metal files I was looking for.

Somehow, I made a mistake when placing my order, and put an extra item in my shopping cart. I messaged Otto Frei immediately, but after waiting a few hours for a response, I decided to call.

I got to a real person quickly, and she was able to cancel my order right away, so that I could place it again. While I was on the phone with her, another customer service representative was responding to my message.

Both representatives were extremely helpful and courteous. In this day and age, when you are lucky to even be able to talk to a real person and not a useless A/I program, my experience with Otto Frei was amazing. In fact, I was so happy with their Customer Service, that, ironically, I decided to add two extra items to my new order. And, my order arrived incredibly quickly, and well-packaged.

Bad products

I bought 2 bottles of silver testing acid from this company under a year ago

Both acids did not test/react to silver

I contacted the company, their answer was that inexpensive testing acids have short life time and no guarantees

What??

I have just opened them, and my other acids are from same manufacturer and have lasted over 8 years now, and still going

Such a poor costumer services!

I am calling them for 5 days in a row but they are not giving any information about my shipment. It was guarantied delivery in 7 days but I got nothing. When I call them they are just saying "you picked the cheapest shipping what are you expecting?". It is a fraud, they are not shipping items properly and playing with shipping details with their shipper. I also will make a lawsuit for that clown company. This is just a scam.

The absolute worst customer service, I was hung up on. Rio Grande has the best customer service and products. The website is so dated and frustrating to choose options. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

I have always gotten superior customer service and products from this company. So much so, I very rarely purchase silversmithing and lapidary supplies from another vendor.
Highly recommend Otto Frei!
