We were going to Amsterdam this week but had to cancel due to sudden illness. We canceled 48 hrs before the reservation started, but the hotel would not give us any refund. This morning they had withdrawn all of the money, over 500 euro! This is because they require a cancelation 72 hrs before, and we had paid extra for this option, but didn' quite make it. A very sad experience, and the made a pretty penny on it. We shan't be booking here again!

I stayed at Prinsengracht Hotel in Amsterdam in August 2024, and it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had while traveling.

On the second-to-last night of our stay, the bed in our room was infested with bed bugs. I suffered a severe allergic reaction from the bites, which covered my entire body and led to difficulty breathing. This was not just a matter of discomfort – it was a serious health emergency.

What’s even more outrageous is the complete lack of response from the hotel management. I contacted them multiple times, providing photographic evidence of the bites and my condition. Not a single reply. No apology. No offer of help. Nothing.

We paid over €600 for our stay – not for a filthy, unsanitary room that risked my health and ruined our trip.

This kind of negligence is unacceptable and dangerous. No one should have to deal with such conditions, especially without any responsibility taken by the staff or management.

Do not stay here. This place should be inspected by public health authorities.
