In my opinion though the oldest age group should have been split into different age groups as I had two lads in that group with the youngest being 13 and I thought him and the other younger ones in that group didn't really get or feel like they got a proper chance to show what potential they had as the older ones weren't really passing to them or involving them in the game.

My son had a trial here and was scouted for Manchester United. The scout had to come and ask me for his name as his information hadn’t been put down! Never heard anything back after that.

Thanks for your feedback - I am not quite sure what has happened here!
We record some player information when you book online (it is not possible to book without it), and you are asked to complete a registration form on arrival to provide additional data such as playing position. From this each scout is given a sheet with a list of all the players participating and relevant information to help them in making their decisions.
At the end of the trial during the debrief all the trialists who have been identified by the scouts have their bib numbers called out, and are introduced to the scouts there and then along with their parents, to find out about what happens next. The scouts are very visible during the trial and sometimes talk to parents or players to find out more information from them, in order to make their decisions, but all final decisions are announced at the end of the trial.

The grouping of the children was…
The grouping of the children was extremely disorganised as 9yr players were grouped with kids as old as12. On the registration form they asked that your child’s age be given but this was not noted during trials.
On entering and collecting bibs for trial it was clear that there were bibs preallocated to indiduals who were meant to succeed.
Other than that the experience was a valuable one as kids were shown early, that the road to football stardom is not going to be easy.

We do group children roughly into ages 6-11 and 12-17 during a trial. If numbers permit, we segregate this further, but as these are open trials, unfortunately we cannot guarantee that enough people will book on in any particular age group to ensure that children only participate with players of the same age. In academies players will often play up one or two age groups to see how that child performs against older children, and using this format we have had around 175 players from the age of 6 to the age of 17 given opportunities by professional clubs. The information on the player's age taken on the form at registration is passed to the scouts, to allow them to assess potential players correctly against the club's criteria.
We do not pre-allocate any bib numbers, they are given on arrival at random and are simply a way of the scouts identifying which players they would like to speak to - again, as these are open trials we have no way of knowing if someone is going to be successful or not.

Took my two boys here to have a trial
Took my two boys here to have a trial. Been recommended off a friend, who said it was a great place to let your children be assessed by professional scouts from all over. I was really impressed as their were over a dozen scouts there on the day. I would highly recommend Pro11 to anyone who wants to give their child a opportunity to go to a professional training day with thechance to be scouted by a professional club.

Poor individual players on there own suffered due to the fact there were groups of players who all new each other,so when it came to match time it was very evident the groups were doing much better as they knew each other and individual players suffered,we had no feedback at all,waste of money

We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your experience at Pro11. As our events are open trials we cannot control who books to attend or whether people know each other beforehand. For example, sometimes coaches bring several players from their teams, siblings book on together, or players bring a friend along. On one occasion we had a team from the US who were on tour in the UK and asked to take part just for experience!
In terms of feedback, we always ask participants to hang back after the trial to speak to the coaching team, which unfortunately you seem to have missed for some reason. Very impressive from start to finish…
Very impressive from start to finish for all age groups involved. The drills certainly tested all abilities and were all set up in advance so players could start immediately. Do feel it was a little more beneficial for the younger age groups as most scouts in attendance were most certainly looking for the younger stars of tomorrow. Very good No's though in all ages and feedback offered at the end if you were unsuccessful. Would have been nice to have received a follow up email though shortly after the event with development recommendations etc. My son was offered a couple of trials but when we met with the scouts they thought he was a year older, so i'd recommend adding school year on the application form / registration form to stop this from happening in future. A very well run and professional few hours with many, many scouts in attendance from all the local clubs, from Man Utd & Man City to Macclesfield Town & Altrincham, so certainly something for all to aim at. Many thanks but hopefully all will work out for my son and we wont be back, for the right reasons of course!

I took my 7 year old to the Liverpool…
I took my 7 year old son to the Liverpool pro11 trials back in December in Huyton.
The coaches put them through their paces and my son thoroughly loved the session experience,got a lot out of it and was lucky enough to get scouted by Liverpool.
The coaching was great and the scouts from local clubs where there as promised.
Done exactly what was advertised and kids where put infront of scouts !!!!
Great concept instead of hoping a scout will catch your child playing for his local side.
Best decision his mum and I made for my son was to bring him along and stick him in the shop window so to speak.

Wasn’t interested in younger age groups just wanted your money then sent to bottom end of pitch with one coach with very limited skills whilst all the so called scouts(3) of them stayed down the other end watching older groups. Very rude in an aggressive waywhen it was mentioned Overall waste of money and time. Disgusted really
