Hi there, thanks for leaving us this review. We are sorry to see this is 1 star.
If the direct debit has been cancelled successfully as per the terms and conditions, then no further payments would be deducted. Due to the gym closing all direct debits however would be stopped before the members next payment is due unless the member chooses to continue their membership at an alternate gym.

Most of the times the gym is messy
Most of the times the gym is messy. I understand that people don't care where they left the weights and equipment after they train, and neither do the staff. I have seen some staff members checking their phones while the gym is a mess, with the exception of one guy who is always tyding up the weights, benches, and mats. Also, the toilets and changing rooms are dirty. I have noticed that the cleaning staff has diminished. I have seen machines with trash all over them (plastic bottles, coffee cups, cans, etc) and nobady cares. I think it is a great gym, but it seems it is noticiably not taken care of.

Cleanliness not to the usual standard
The lady changing room was dirty, with toilet paper missing in some cubicles.
The gym floor was scattered with gym equipments not tidied up after use even by some personal trainers.
There was not disinfectant liquid left to clean equipment after use.
Otherwise a good session.

Generally pretty good but could use some improvement.
Generally fairly clean (could do with more regular cleaning in the studio to get rid of the dust balls around the edges). The instructors are amazing but when they go on holidays, there are no replacements, so all of the good classes are cancelled over Christmas and New Year, while still paying full price. As I purchased my membership for the classes and freezing seems to be for a minimum of a month, the membership fee really should be reduced if they are not providing a full service for this period.
UPDATE - So the Pure Gym response is actually legally incorrect. No-where in your T&Cs or on your web site does it say that the classes are "Free" (like it says for the workout videos). Given the material change in the service provided (less that 50% of classes for 3 weeks, with no notification) in exchange for the membership fee, this is actually a breech of the implied terms. I'll drop you an email to arrange the refund.
Oh and no-one in the gym seems to be able to explain to me how the freezing works in practice for the normal membership. I've had a few different responses and the app glitches when trying to find the details (which do not seem to be clear).

Good Gym but Personal Trainers Monopolise Gym Equipment
This is a good gym with good equipment; however, the gyms personal trainers monopolise all the equipment. I wanted to use the barbell press which was being used by a personal trainer and his client. His session with his client was finished for the day and I asked him if I could use the machine at this point, he had another client turn up, so I didn’t get to use the barbell. Not only was I not able to use the barbell he placed his towel over the equipment and went and used other equipment by doing this other gym user could not use the barbells.
Furthermore, I went to the free weights room which also has barbells I found a barbell not in use only to have a personal trainer approached me as he wanted to use the equipment for his client at this point I give up for the day and went home.

The towels for customer use never seem…
The towels for customer use never seem to be readily available like before. They always seem to run out in last few months. This week was exceptionally warm which meant the gym was and I noticed a lot of people queuing for it to be put on. I pay the upper charge for the gym use to use the water machine and I think 20min intervals before you can use the machine is too long especially if the aircon is not going to be turned on.

SPIN PROGRAMME IMPROVING, BUT STILL NEEDS WORK - Sub Standard!
The Spin Classes have improved after my initial complaint and dissatisfaction. There are two instructors of whom I have experienced a class who are very good. However, I do think more needs to be done to enhance the Spin Programme, and I hope my earlier comments - and this updated one - will result in finding ways to make the Spin Programme as good as it was in the days when it was LA Fitness!

for about a month
for about a month, at least once a week I have not found towels, and for me it is really difficult, since I come right in my work break, and I need them, so I pay the subscription, but I cannot always use them

I split time between california and…
I split time between california and London. In CA the gyms still require masks. I wish you did also. That’s my issue

We have been following Government guidance on masks and we will be following the guidance once again – in England it has shifted to individual responsibility. We fully support all members and staff in making their personal choice as to whether they choose to wear a mask. Thanks, PureGym.
Not a nice environment.
Nobody is wearing masks (not a single person) or wiping down equipment between uses. I signed up to a class and when I got there it was cancelled because nobody else showed up.

I just joined the gym, but I feel already so much better! The cycle and combat classes are amazing! I can't wait to come again.

- Put more scales (including measurement of body fat / muscles, metabolic age, etc) and ability to print results
- Put more watches around
- Improveshowers (missing shelf to put stuff on)

The equipment is good but could do with…
The equipment is good but could do with more things. The team seems very friendly.
The people don't tend to wiped the equipment after use and this is a concern.

Female changing rooms
Pros:
Good location and overall gym equipment.
Easy membership and very convenient if you are looking for a place to go and do a quick workout.
Cons:
Can be very packed in the evening.
Female changing room needs hairdryers replacement (6 hairdryers in total- 1 working)
Wish it was opening at 6am.
Overall I wish it was still LAX, less people and longer opening hours.

We’re afraid it's true, our gyms simply are very popular and so can become busy especially at peak times, but this does fluctuate throughout the day and from day to day. Members can also use the members area via the PureGym app or website, to see how many people are in the gym which is useful for planning ahead.
We're sorry we've not been able to open the gym 24 hours due external factors such as local licensing regulations, but we are always looking to extend the opening hours when possible so keep an eye out for updates.
