The gym is undergoing some internal upgrades. The initial layout was badly planned with most cardio equipment too close to each other. I personally complained to the Gym manager about this.... Toon meer

Puregym Nuneaton is not a friendly or welcoming environment. The staff can be rude and disrespectful at times e.g making unnecessary jokes or comments. The gym itself is satisfactory, except for a few... Toon meer

New setup cramped and uncomfortable
The womens only area has completely ruined the upstairs of the gym. The owner mentioned its a small area, but it literally takes up 30% of the upstairs floorspace.
This has resulted in all the machines being crammed together like sardines - No room to move, no personal space, and if you want to wait to use a machine you have nowhere to stand, the entire setup now is entirely impractical.
Downstairs seems like an overall improvement, altho no idea why they wasted space with a big ole metal fence..
But the upstairs has majority of the machines, all of which are now extremely close to each other, giving everyone an inferior experience.
I understand the idea around a womens only space, however it should not come at the expense of *all* gym members who pay the same amount no-matter their gender, it should not take up so much space, and it should not result in turning the upstairs to a squished, awkward, uncomfortable experience.
Will be cancelling my membership shortly, and have heard a lot of others will be doing the same for the reasons I listed above.
Edit: They've replied with a copy and paste saying its a small compromise - Its not small at all, its taken up 30% of the space,resulted in the entire upstairs being cramped, and now we have lasses moving machines into the area so men can't even use them or get them back!

Feel like a second class gym user
PureGym seems to want to have it's cake and eat it, not sure if that is specific to this gym or the company as a whole, but I do not appreciate paying for the privilege of feeling like a second class gym user.
They have recently introduced a women's only area in Nuneaton, as they must covet the market of women that don't want to go to a unisex gym, so you're paying for PureGym to expand their reach, and if you're a man you're not allowed to get access to areas of the gym in return.
Women don't have to pay more for this privilege as far as I can tell, and there are more men than women at this gym (based on the eye test) so men appear to be paying the same to be excluded from parts of the gym, which I don't think is fair.
Men are the bulk of your customers and I don't think they should pay the same price to have less access than female members. I refuse to support this change, so have cancelled my membership and would would not blame other men if they decided to do the same, as I feel like a second class gym user.

Think about beginners
Joining was very easy today.
I’m being asked to give a review here immediately after joining. I havnt been to the gym yet.
I have selected beginner training workouts but can’t see the details of those routines, possibly as I’m unfamiliar with the app which I just downloaded.
Ask me again for a rating after I have been to the gym at least 3 times

Nuneaton
I've been a member of Nuneaton gym since it opened, and I've seen various staff come and go over the years. I have to say, I was extremely pleased to see both Monika and Sarah back; they have made a significant difference in the atmosphere and overall experience.
The staff here are incredibly friendly and go above and beyond to help members. They work hard to ensure the gym is clean and that all equipment is accessible, which I truly appreciate. However, I do think it's time for the bikes to be replaced, as they could use an upgrade to enhance the workout experience.
My only negatives would be the smell of urine in the toilets. But that’s not the fault of the staff, I feel maybe the ventilation could be better and as summer is approaching I hope the air conditioning will be in full working order, as it hasn’t always been.
Overall, I'm happy with my time at the gym and grateful for the dedicated staff who make it a welcoming place to work out.

I got a code from friend aloowing me 1 day pass for free. Put the code in, says total £0. When it comes to pay it's £8.99
Is it a joke??? Tried 3 times, code was correct, total of £0 but still had to pay £8.99..paid to have a look if I like it but experience and first impression wasn't good at all.
