Safestore - Bristol Filton Reviews 

I used this storage facility for just over two months. Everything started fine, but unfortunately my experience became disappointing.

I completed the rental process online and then went to the site to check in. The staff at the desk were polite, but I felt pressured to leave a Google review before the check-in process was completed, which I found unprofessional.

The unit itself was also quite far from the entrance, requiring a lift and a long walk, which made moving items in and out more difficult than expected.

When I decided to leave, I gave several weeks’ notice after finishing the rebuild of my living room. However, I was still charged for the full month plus the end of the sale/discount period. Instead of around £50, I was charged around £90. I was told they do not discount or refund unused days, even if you leave early, which I found very disappointing.

There also seem to be charges for everything. If a direct debit is missed, they apply a £15 charge straight away. Overall, I felt the service became more about extra charges than customer care.

I would not use this company again. I previously used UK Storage in Avonmouth and had a much better experience with both the facilities and the service.

⭐ (1 Star) A Genuine Hazard - Avoid This Place At All Costs!

I feel compelled to write this review to warn others. Under no circumstances should you rent a unit at Safestore Filton. This is, without a doubt, the worst storage facility I have ever encountered, and I would actively recommend you go anywhere else.

From the moment you arrive, the problems are obvious. The main front doors are constantly left open, which is a huge security red flag. What are we paying for if the building isn't even secure?

The absolute farce begins when you have a delivery or need to move anything sizable. In a move of sheer incompetence, they have replaced the automatic doors at the rear with heavy, manual doors. These are an absolute pain to open, especially if your hands are full. It's a deliberate and ridiculous inconvenience that makes accessing your own belongings a struggle.

Once you finally battle your way inside, prepare for an assault on your senses. The toilets are absolutely disgusting and constantly stink, which tells you everything you need to know about the management's attention to basic hygiene and maintenance.

And it gets worse. The units themselves are downright dangerous. I found multiple long screws and nails protruding from the walls inside my unit, creating a serious snag and injury hazard. When I raised this with the management, they were completely uninterested. Speaking of which, the management are terrible – unhelpful, dismissive, and clearly do not care about customer safety or satisfaction.

Finally, a word of warning: don't be fooled by the plug sockets in the units. They are all deliberately switched off at the source and are completely unusable. They are just for show, another example of the facade over functionality here.

Save yourself the immense frustration and risk. There are plenty of modern, secure, and professionally run storage facilities a very short drive away. Pay a little more elsewhere for actual security, safety, and peace of mind. Stay far, far away from Safestore Filton.

Large storage container at a decent price. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and communications are proactive and clear. The storage facility itself is clean, roomy, with plenty of trolleys and a large lift to use.

Payment is taken 4 weekly not monthly so every now and again, you'll be expected to pay twice in one month, usually the day before payday.

Oh, and you can't change the day you pay because the system only works on Thursdays.
