Waste of time!
I have had some great experiences over the years and a huge waste of time one today! The screening was not as specific as it should have been and I have been penalised for particpating. I have not given one start because previous experiences have been good ones. This was awful. The irony is that it was for Sage - who I already loathed as a company - and now I loathe them even more.

A most interesting opportunity
A most interesting opportunity; gave me the chance to relate my experience with the website and pass on a few suggestions and observations from a real customer's point of view. So much better than just leaving a comment as the interviewer can see how I interract with the software in real time.

I enjoyed this focus group. The facilitator made me feel at ease and allowed us to have a 'toilet break' during the 2 hours. I have always had a pleasant experience attending focus groups with Saros.

I was selected to take part in a footwear research by Saros, I had never done something like this before but found it pleasantly simple and met lovely people from it. I was also gifted some money for participating. I would definitely like to participate in one of these research groups again. I will definitely recommend a friend to take part in their research too. 5/5 stars from me. The team are VERY helpful.

Recently participated in a research study.
Recently participated in a questionnaire and discussion for Saros Research. It was a pleasant and professional experience and I would be happy to participate in any further researches they are doing. A financial incentive was offered and paid within a few days of the study ending just like they said it would. Can't fault them in the slightest.

If you're thinking of being a tester, forget it, because you don't get tests
I have been a tester on this site for quite literally years. In all that time I have been invited to exactly two research interviews for which I signed NDAs and completed all the relevant screening.
The first one was cancelled at short notice (no compensation) and the second one was also cancelled.
If you're thinking of being a tester don't waste your time, the screeners have you repeating information they already have on your profile, they're long winded and it would appear you have a snowballs chance of getting invited to a research project.
Even when you are invited (just 2 invites in over 5 years) the chances of them happening would appear to be non existent.
Edited in response to comments from Saros: One of my interviews was cancelled at extremely short notice ( certainly within 24 hours) I did NOT receive any compensation.
Edit: I'd love to Sarah, however this review was originally posted nearly 12 months ago. Therefore the project was at least round about the same time, if not earlier. Unsurprisingly I no longer have the emails

Thanks for your feedback. Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. We have had some staff changes and so we're only just aware of your review. When you become a member of Saros Research as a market research participant, we can't guarantee that you will be selected for any research. The reason is that our clients come to us with a very specific research target each time, and this often means they are looking for a very specific person or behaviour. We have to consult our database to find people who match that specific behviour or profile, via the screening questionnaires. Most of the time it's very niche and we can have 100s of people apply with only a handful of people matching the criteria. That is why it can take a while to be selected. With cancellations, those are unfortunately completely out of our hands as sometimes our clients' prototypes are not ready in time or there are other unforeseen circumstances. We do, however, promise to pay the full incentive payment if a project is cancelled within 24 hours of you being due to take part.
