Disappointed
Unfortunately we can no longer recommend this company to others given the poor experience we have received.
We have been customers of shades and shutters for many years, as have our friends and family and have been happy with their service. However, after a blind they recently installed came crashing down, we had to get in touch with them to let them know what happened, they requested photos of the damage it caused which we did. We thought nothing of it, the blind had not been installed correctly, and it fell down. It had only been fastened to a strip of wood, and that strip of wood the fitter told us was not screwed in, but he said it would be strong enough. We took him on his word.
We were absolutely shocked to receive an email and essentially told to go through our insurance, they did not accept responsibility for the poorly fitted blind we bought from them, and paid for them to fit, which is now damaged. There were other items damaged, but at the absolute least we would have expected an apology and replacement or repaired blind.
Maybe they have had issues with people trying to get one over them, given how defensive they were, but honestly, we don’t have the time of day to bother with that sort of thing. They clearly lack judgement in their customer base and could probably do with some training in trust and loyalty.
